@Robby:
If you want to claim "bunny girl" is unique while ignoring "reindeer boy" (who is in the crew already) and also ingnore the entire island of other animals , okay.
I don't ignore "reindeer boy" though? Chopper is very unique. You are the one ignoring "bunny girl". Well, not ignoring, that is not my issue. I'll try to explain. As for what you intend to say here, if I was you I would be far more bothered by the idea of there being thousands of regular-looking humans than by the idea of there being hundreds of animal characters, all of them way easier to distinguish from one another than regular humans. I'd apply the same logic to fishmen for that matter, who have very distinguishable designs.
@Robby:
But I don't have to resort to "Jinbe is a fishman" to point out his qualities. I just gave a whole list that doesn't need his species to show that he stands out. Plus his ties to Ace, his stature as a Warlord, that he's the strongest known user of Fishman karate in the world, etc.
Yes and Jinbe is perhaps the most unique character design in the crew (excepts perhaps Franky?). But all of his traits, all of them, are found individually in one character or another. You can't deny that. If you try to reduce the uniqueness of a character design to single traits, Usopp is more unique than Jinbe. This is not how it works.
@Robby:
I can also point to Franky and his ace ventura hair, metal nose, three pointed chin, popeye arms, manly eyelashes ,star tatoos, speedo, Hawaiian shirt. Or Brook with his afro, gentleman's clothes, living skeleton thing, height, crack in his skull, yohoho laugh, and ability to poop, and an instant invitation into the crew, which were all in his first chapter appearance, followed up by his musical abilities, skull jokes, perversion, and Laboon ties that came right after. Let alone his rock star affect and soul ice powers now.
Franky has more single unique traits than Jinbe, yes. Brook is entirely unique by concept because there's not a single other living skeleton in the One Piece world.
Still, let's analyze this a bit further, right:
-Franky for instance has the least correspondence with other characters, but Ace Ventura hair? Check the Vinsmokes.
-Brook: Afro? Check Gaimon. Height? Check many other characters, Kinemon for instance or Kiku. Yohoho laugh? You mean like every other character with a unique laugh? Ability to poop? You kidding me? Musical abilities? Like Apoo? Gentleman's clothes, perversion? Sanji, you mean? Ice powers? Aokiji?
Dude, if you want to be reductive like you are with Carrot a lot of these single trait examples don't hold weight.
And the point is not whether Carrot's design is original or unique to you. It's about understanding that there is not a single other bunny girl character in One Piece, which is about as factual as saying that there is not a single other living skeleton or a single other reindeer with 7 transformations.
Saying that the bunny girl design is generic is dishonest, and it's cheating. Because you are applying clear double standards. I have seen living skeletons before in media, and yet you are showing it as something unique. Just decide on one criterion: either they are unique related the world of One Piece, or they are unique related to the entirety of the fictional media you know. Because switching between one or another to purposely leave Carrot out in each has a name that I have been repeating a lot in this discussion.
By the way, I remember more people with Brook's than Carrot's height. If you want to talk about uniqueness of that trait. You can also tell me where else have you seen a character who draws shoujo manga style in this series, or jumps this absurdly high, or wears two gloves with retractable claws for combat, or has a big round tail bigger than her head, or, simply, has white fur. I could also mention her being a dedicated lookout, since there is always the comment about the lookout position not being official in the One Piece world, but I'll refrain
That if we reduce it to single traits. Because you know, the point of "bunny girl" is that it's unique when you combine both. As well as the point of, if we speak about personality, "hyperactive and disciplined", which are two separate traits that should clash and only make sense together in a character with the background of Carrot.
@Robby:
What does Carrot have? List her unique features without "bunny". And bear in mind I posted a picture of Koala two posts back.
Why should I list her unique features without "bunny". Are you dumb or something? You don't list Chopper's unique features without "reindeer" or Brook's unique features without "skeleton". Being a reindeer and a skeleton is what makes them unique in the first place.
By the way, now that I'm seeing this… do people get multiple notifications if I multi-quote them in a message? Because poor Robby lol
