I love what's being done with AFO. It's a bit more realistic than I'm evil so I'll destroy the world and kill all my subjects we see all the time. That's how AFO ruled from the shadows, through loyalty. Didn't matter how he got it he just needed people who'd do anything for him.
That bodyguard, I wonder if we'll see him again in modern times. If AFO came across two life-extending quirks it'd make sense to give one to his ultra-loyal bodyguard. Not sure what's the point of not seeing the second and third. Guess the full backstory won't be revealed for a while. And I agree it would've been nice if we had more than one OFA female user. There's still a chance but…
About Vol. 0 (All Might Rising)
! AHHHHH! So that's why All Might went to America! That makes perfect sense. AFO would take him out if he ever felt threatened. Better to gain experience where he can't watch him.
! I really loved this. It shows us so much without diving into anything too spoilery. We still don't know the how Toshinori and Nana met or his life pre OFO. I need more Nana backstory. And we still don't know how Recovery Girl factors into all this. Was she Nana's sidekick too? Anyway, bravo, Hirokoshi!
@DestinyDogma:
I really hope the ghost of OFA didn´t just magically heal Deku´s hand wounds, that his actions left marks on his body was one thing that I liked about him and the series…
Oh! Is that what the First did? I didn't think of that. Magically boosting Deku's power output didn't make sense nor giving him a muscle form, but it was I could think of. I'm fine with the healing (if that's what actually happened). A bit Deus ex but I'll think of it as the First hitting Deku's reset button. And since he didn't heal All Might after his first fight against AFO I'll assume its a one-time thing.
@DestinyDogma:
About OFA, I always thought that the original power of AFO´s little brother was weird, a quirk that can only give itself to others and nothing else is hella suspicious… Maybe the original quirk was passing the user´s soul to another person and taking control over them, but the little brother decided to not do that. In a sense AFO´s little brother being inside the power would be a good failsafe for OFA, since it´s a power that will keep growing if it ends in the hands of unworthy succesor it may create another AFO-tier villain.
I love that soul theory. But, I think it's less taking over and more highly influencing new users. You don't only get stronger, you get the First's willpower and desire for justice.
