The exaggeration of the trope (namely her facial expressions), as well as the irony of Sanji finally meeting someone as horny as he is, makes it pretty enjoyable to watch/read. Not much else to say, I'm not exactly a tsundere connoisseur lol

I can't help but to do just that. There are those that say that Pekoms will stumble across Pedro, and help him out. I don't think that will happen either, but it sounds a lot more plausible. But for Pekoms to come out of nowhere and shield Pedro right before the explosion happens? That makes no sense.

Plus this is a manga. I can better understand, "feel", I don´t know how to explain it, simply envision what is going on, live the story, when the author showcases a rotating kick and its impact, than if somebody screams out loud "this food is amazing".
I know the counter-argument is Shokugeki, but that partially solves that issue with those foodgasm pages which sort of shows you how that character felt when tasting the food. For me, it´s still a competition/fighting series, I personally don´t really get the recipes and stuff, I mean I am personally not imagining how the food in the manga tastes.
Anyway, stuff like Sanji on the train to Judicial Island or how he basically owned the Wolf guy. I remember him willing to sacrifice his life for Luffy when confronting Kuma just like Zoro, who got his life-time scene back there.
Luffy´s and Sanji´s fights are more enjoyable than Zoro´s for me, because sword fights seem to be weird to draw and for me to imagine, compared to punches and kicks.
Even his 2 year training was basically run & fight first, learn recipe later.
It´s understandable that after all the crap he´s been through recently, or ever since time-skip, that people expect him to man up.
This is what I recall since the time-skip, skill-wise:
Now he has left his friends who are at the brink of death, baking a cake on and island where they´re not threatened at all it seems.
Meanwile, his crewmates have evaded sure death only by one of their companions sacrificing his life in the process.
Now another "we´re basically doomed" scenario occurs.
At the very least, that´s a weird contrast.
Anyway, I am not expecting any fighting from Sanji this arc. The cake will be wonderful, BM will be happy like a child, Luffy will own Katakuri, Jimbei will keep Sunny & Co. alive for 3 hours for the cake to have a forced life-saving impact etc.
1. Those who want a 1on1, get Luffy vs Katakuri. I would go as far as to say this fight happens to please cake-angry fans and wasn´t originally planned. It doesn´t make much sense for Luffy to get another fight. Throwing Kata into Mirror World and breaking all mirrors on the ship would´ve made just as much sense. But the cake baking plot requires something to happen while it´s prepared, so we got this fight. So far, just a one-sided one.
2. Those who want a struggle for survival, threatening BM beast, get her vs Sunny. Supership+Fishman Karate Master+Supernavigator should on paper outspeed cloud-less BM on sea but again, cake baking as only solution requires the crew to be constantly on the brink of death.
3. Those who want Sanji win by cooking, get cake vs 3 hours. And it´s probably going to be off-paneled.
That just doesn´t feel right, rather like a half-assed get out of jail-pass (somehow finish Totland arc without antagonizing too many fans).
I am sorry I feel that way. BM self-destroying her kingdom because of her untreated crazy personality which was tolerated by her crew because of how strong she is, her rampage triggered by all the stuff SHs have done, would´ve made a more logical, real-life reason for the SHs to escape than "faint cause cake so good", considering this a grand-scale unbeatable emperor whose only weakness is her own personality.
But I should probably eat a pie or something, it seems like I´m turning into a hungry BM here…
The situation looks dire, but I think Jimbei will counteract Big Mom's wave with his own water manipulation abilities.
When Luffy beats/draws Katakuri, he'll be in a state where he can barely move, just like the end of his fight with Lucci.

It's not just a matter of power and speed because even when Luffy manages to hit Katakuri, his attacks just go through his body without causing any damage. Right now, Luffy has to first find a way to actually hurt Katakuri before trying to do so and I am pretty sure that's why he is saving Gear 4th for late (I believe Gear 4th is both fast and strong enough to defeat Katakuri, but Luffy is trying to avoid a Cracker scenario, where he used Gear 4th before properly assessing the situation and would have been defeated because of that if it wasn't for Nami's convenient appearance).
If the theory of Katakuri being a dwarf in a mochi's body is right, I assume water going through the mirror could be used just to expose that. It would hit Katakuri, dissolving his fake body momentarily just so Luffy could understand the situation and then think of a plan to defeat him.

Relax, there is still plenty of time left for the SHs to become stronger. I don't expect Luffy to beat Big Mom this arc, and i don't expect him to beat Kaido by himself either, meaning all of the SHs should have help against Kaidos three calamities(except maybe Zoro), giving them plenty of time to grow. By the time the SHs face Blackbeard, all of them should individually be able to beat their counterparts without help, finally reaching the level of a Yonkou. One Piece is a little different in that even if Luffy beats Kaido, that doesn't mean Luffy will be stronger than Kaido(ike he wasn't stronger than Croc or Lucci) and even after that victory he might even struggle against Akainu who is probably not stronger than Kaido, The point here is that there is no reason to want noticeable growth for the SHs when really they'll only need to be as strong as a Yonkou commander by the end of the series, when they face BB. In terms of strength all the SHs, especially Luffy, are right where they are supposed to be.

Now it's obvious that the conclusion is that the Yonkou are nigh unbeatable. It's to help us understand as readers that they are not ready yet (or maybe they'll never be ready) to defeat the Yonkou. They'll need the support of many others to defeat just 1 Yonkou. This is all to create a good measure of strength of a Yonkou, so we'll know what to expect roughly from Kaido in the future.
This suspense is incredible, and they will manage to survive, but I don't think it will be due to a "power-up" from Luffy's end. Luffy will be at ease as the SH's will find rescue at the hands of fate, whether it be by a heavy storm brewing out of nowhere or perhaps Aladdin and the rest of the Fishman come to the rescue in some shape or form. But this won't stop Big Mom, but will delay her chase to destroying the SH's completely. And Luffy will be able to hold off Katakuri until the cake is made, that much I'm confident in. I mean, it's perfectly possible that Luffy will start showing signs of an awakening power-up, but I don't think that'll help defeat Katakuri, but will serve to guide Luffy to escape Mirror World and finally escape with his crew after Big Mom has eaten her cake and "fainted".
I do predict Brulee dying though by Big Mom's hands. As this would be needed for the SH's never to worry about a surprise attack by the Big Mom pirates in the future.

Sanji not being close to a Yonko's top 3 makes sense, considering that even Luffy is having a hard time hanging with them. Although saying "not even remotely close" is really a bit too speculative since Sanji's never had any conflict with these guys. He would lose but at least put up a fight. What makes you think there won't be any fighting for Sanji. There's still plenty of ways in which next 3 hours could play out. Especially once they put that cake on a ship and have to decorate it while moving. For all we know, they could be attacked while delivering the cake.

Well that idea ended the second Perospero directed her aggression towards the SHs. The only way to get her out of the picture is to "knock her out" with the cake. Now the rest of the BM fleet will still be in pursuit, assuming they're not the victims of collateral damage in the coming chapters. Well that's the hope that they won't be all friendly after the cake is done.

You're acting like Sanji is going to calmly gather all the ingredients, put them in an EZ-bake oven and saunter off to Big Mom where he just gives it to her and that's the end of it. Hold your horses, bucko. Stop projecting your own idea of what the cake baking is going to be like before it starts and complaining about something that's entirely the product of your own imagination. Let Oda do his thing; we've got three hours to go here and with the cake being the centerpiece of it all, this isn't just gonna be some early-morning Food Network shit. This is like the insane late-night race against the clock shows with the overdramatic music. Sanji is going to demonstrate the true power and worth of the future Pirate King's cook.

The only way Zoro can lose is against an oponent who ate a Maze Maze fruit which would require some sort of orienteering to win.
You just mentioned how Nami held off big mom and helped against a sweet commander, that's called shining. Brooke fought offscreen but also got cool moments and was also responsible for both getting the poneglyph and breaking the photo. Sanjis got nothing the whole arc and is now missing out on the 3 hours of action, and all he has to show for it at the end is some cake? People don't consider the cake shining because no one cares for it, it isn't a cooking manga. Even Greg's idea had some fighting involved as it would be boring otherwise.
As I said, pretty much just Luffy and Nami then. Everyone else, as far as combat goes, not so much. Not to say that they literally did nothing, but at the same time, it's not anything to get super hyped over, unless one really likes how cool Brook's aura looks. And if you want to now include non-combat feats like what Brook has done, then it's only fair to count stuff like Sanji baking the cake. You know, the thing that's going to save everyone's lives. Additionally, he has had cool moments in this arc. It's none of my business as to whether or not you said moments were good or not to you, but to say he's gotten nothing the entire arc is pretty perplexing…
Lastly, they literally just got started on baking the cake. It's been established that it will take nearly three hours to bake, with Pudding putting particular emphasis on the fact that no one is to disturb them. I think it's a pretty safe bet that there will be at least some disruption during that timeframe, as well as ingenuity on Oda's part to make something as seemingly mundane as cooking look a lot more livelier than you and so many other people are assuming it will be.
The cake subplot is clearly always going to be a divisive issue, with it only having a chance of changing for the better once we see how it concludes. But this notion I keep seeing about this being all Sanji's fault when he's blatantly trying to save everyone's lives is so odd to me.
Because everyone thinks Katakuri is too cool to be true.

Well, he was never shown shrinking post TS, even on Noah, which was the longest he ever used it, I think.
I'm hoping it's still there as a potential weakness, though. Becoming a midget is so much more fun and visually attractive than just being tired for several minutes.
I think when Zoro mentioned not losing to anyone anymore it was specifically talking in regards to his dream of becoming the greatest swordsman. That's why it was ~fine~ that he lost against Enel and what not.
