Getting bullied in Totland for having three eyes? That's like getting fired from Apple for being gay.
Yeah it's a bullshit twist but it's Oda and females what can you fo other than shake your head.

Simple he didn't actually lose to Vergo. Vergo just hurt him.
We might soon see some amazing skill that Sanji didnt used since timeskip that would give new perspective to their fight and make it so we would see Sanji beating fair and square Vergo if their fight would have finished.
Sanji is alrealdy super-human. He is stronger than 99% of all people in one piece and he clearly beat the shit out of his brother and was about to kick the other brother to a pulp. Sanjis "potential" already awakened during his life , he just needed a few more years compared to his brothers. I cant really see any power up here. that would just cheapen his training all thee years.
I don't think his genetic super-human traits have awakened yet.
If they were, he wouldn't have almost broken his leg against Vergo (considering Sanji is more CoA oriented , his haki shouldn't be that weaker compared to Vergo and with the superhuman strength of the body showed by his brothers-whose even their skin can't be pierced by guns..- his bones wouldn't have certainly cracked ).
Sanji needs to be stronger to face commanders or stand against admirals and this is the perfect occasion to give him the chance to get it.
I don't think the thing about his brothers genetic traits was put there by chance. It all perfectly fits (even too well I'd dare to say).
Sanji will never get a DF so unlike Luffy he can't power-up by using better his fruit or awakening secret abilities of the df.
As also it's not like Sanji is gonna get such a focus as on this arc ever again.
Maybe BM just considers everyone a freak and Pudding is not the only one
As usual, Oda delivers! Im so happy I cant stop the tears dammit….
Oh that was a fantastic chapter. Lots going on and really interesting developments. Not even sure where it's gonna go now. Both Big Mom and Pudding are huge wild cards right now, as are the Vinsmokes and Straw Hats. Next chapter is gonna be chaos.
Also it seems Katakuri saw that Sanji dodged, but didn't realize til after the fact that it was his own shot that he dodged?
I agree with that last part, Katakuri was so confident in himself and underestimating Sanji at the same time didn't take into account that it was his own shot that he saw Sanji dodge. That was so badass by Sanji. Pudding is sooo stunning!

I actually teared up a little when I saw Sanji dodge the attack like I am pretty damn certain we're about to see a devil Sanji in this wedding. He's already acknowledged by "dogtooth" and he's going to gain the respect of his family as they see him in action.

Be careful of what you say about his genetics you're going to get a lot of hate coming your way because a lot of these guys on here hate the idea of him getting an "asspull" power up and want him to remain different from his modified siblings because that will show he outdid them even without their advantage. I for one would love to see a late blossom-er get a little power up.
How do you get bullied for having 3 eyes when you're Big Mum's daughter and live on an island of freaks?
maybe she is adopted?
i mean tit's the only daughter with a specific quirk that big mom was looking for..it's possible than instead of getting a male to make a child with she just got her hands on one and adopted her
The gun was smoking when Katakuri hit him.
Oh, that's right. Looking at that panel closer, I'd say I was mistaken and the priest does shoot right when Kata's bean hits him. Being able to read the sound effects might help clear the confusion

He had no choice but be the one to "shoot" him in the situation, he had no other options. Whenever he foresaw it or not makes difference, other than maybe he adjusted strength of that attack, but regardless it still failed.
edit: ok, didn't notice that priest was pointing the gun.

That's actually a good possibilty
Can't believe people were holding out on Sanji actually hitting Pudding for some comeuppance and were labelling it as "potential growth" for Sanji's character. You've clearly been reading the wrong manga because this is a character who'd rather die than do something like that, call it a quirk or a flaw, it doesn't matter, it's who Sanji is and it's here to stay.
I don't think his genetic super-human traits have awakened yet.
I thought those genetic super-human traits were erased when Sora took that drug.
the thing i find unbelievable is that in the onepiece world it's the 3 eyes girl that it's treatd like a freak..with all the poeple with animal parts, double elbow, half fishman and such it's a third eye that it's an abomination?

yeah,that would have been stupid.
the moment sanji refused to hit a girl to save his life and robin's it was set that this is a quirk that he is going to bring to his tomb..and i don't particularly mind it myself, since it's kind of what i have been taught my whole life..of course in real life women are not super-powered pirate warriors so it really does not apply…but i don't think it's something to hate about sanji

Well to be fair most of the teasing done to her were from her kid siblings and kids can be quite juvenile and I think the BM being appalled by her third eye is an exaggeration, BM doesn't mind it just finds it a little "creepy" which is completely different to "I can't stand to look at you" maybe she was even doing her a favor by telling her to grow out her bangs because she knew her other kids would find it creepy too.
I thought those genetic super-human traits were erased when Sora took that drug.
She took those drugs in attempt to rid them of those traits but there's no guarantee it would have worked if anything it could have lead to inhibiting them for a while and leading to a later onset to kick in.
Man, that shot of multiple Luffys coming out of the wedding cake was awesome.
Glad to see Sanji showing off his CoO proficiency, a battle with Dogtooth should be very interesting although I'll be disappointed if we miss out on him kicking Ichiji and Niji's heads in.
Not sure how to feel about Pudding's seemingly paper thin reasoning for having qualms/a change of heart.
I thought those genetic super-human traits were erased when Sora took that drug.
Well, yeah, this is what's been implied (that Sora succeed to leave at least one of his four sons with human qualities).
But I feel like somehow the drugs will only suppress the super-human abilities on sanji for longer than compared to its brothers (after all the drug was not infallible considering that out of for affected only Sanji) but not erased completely.

Or at least, Zoro should've to kill Tashigi too in order to become the greatest.
Just kidding, it seemed ubelievable to me too.
So imagine as an actress you've been rehearsing how the play ought to have gone and then on the day of the play the other person doesn't say their line (or give the right reaction that you expected them to) you'd be a bit taken aback no? Especially if it's something so unexpected as a compliment of something you were made to feel ugly for your entire life. I can see that it might be a bit soft and overused when it comes to Oda but it's certainly a believable reaction from Pudding, if nothing else.
Interesting chapter, I want more, haha
Chapter looked great to me.
Pudding meltdown wasn't execute perfectly but it's still decent. Maybe already seen like someone pointed out but still not so bad in my opinion. She's not (yet) a good person in a whim but at least worked decently.
Katakuri seems the real badass here, not Mom, anything can happen at this moment. I thought that the Mother Carmel incident would take place before Luffy's entrance, let's see how Capone act from now on.
Luffy has been awesome all arc long, a real flamboyant entrance. Funny how the struggle with the clones of the seducing woods fires back at BM.
Well wasn't expecting entrance like that, took while to reach the conclusion that it was Brule power doing.
So can only recognize(besides Luffy) Jinbei ,Pedro ,Chopper the rest im not sure.
Really liked the chapter.
The Pudding thing feels more like how the issue with the handcuffs was resolved. A surprise just inserted into the story that discounts the build-up we've had for Pudding so far.
But the page with the Luffy's coming out… I don't know what's going on, but this is exactly the kind of crazyness that this arc is supposed to have. I'm going to say that this will be remembered as one of the most iconic shots of the series.
Do people seriously think Pudding is good now? No, it was just a way for Oda to explain how she became so sick and twisted, he was not trying to redeem her. It stunned her but she still wanted to kill him, Pudding hasn't changed. Was Arlong supposed to be redeemed because he had a sad backstory with the death of Fisher Tiger? Nope, so please stop thinking of it as redemption for Pudding, she's still evil. Great chapter though, I wonder how Luffy managed to pull that off and are we on a break because of Golden Week?
Not sure how to feel about Pudding's seemingly paper thin reasoning for having qualms/a change of heart.
Yes, it's clearly not reasoning she rides on, but her emotions. She was planning to make Sanji's disgusted face as culmination and trigger to let her dump out her negative emotions she had built up by shooting him.
Am I the only one who liked the part with Pudding? It's not only surprising to her, but also us readers. Big Mom, collector and uniter of all races, yet os disgusted by her daughters third eye? That's amazing in a way.
It makes no sense for her to be disgusted by it considering that she would have to willingly get laid by a three eyed man to have Pudding, and just a few chapters before this she was shown creaming her pants with joy at the prospect of Pudding's 3rd eye awakening a remarkable power that can help her achieve one of her dreams. To which Pudding said that Big Mom asks about her awakening her power like that all the time. I'd even be willing to accept Pudding being singled out in a country where every species in the world coexists since she'd be the only one with 3 eyes, if Oda was at least consistent with how Big Mom thought of her.
But now the woman who had sex with Pound is going "Ew that's gross" to the trait of a child she presumably had for the express purpose of utilizing that trait to achieve an extraordinary feat that almost no one else in the world can achieve.

It's manga about pirates, so what difference does cliched good/evil make?
Yeah it's a bullshit twist but it's Oda and females what can you fo other than shake your head.
I really don't see how it's a bullshit twist .
From earlier chapters we can see that children on island crazy and big mom hardly seems to care.
I don't like it but it not hard to believe that big mom other children made fun of her because she had 3 eyes .
From the pics she is the odd person out .
Daaamn, Sanji can be quite the ladykiller if he wants to.

even though i feel like pudding's part was full of BS, about big mom i feel like there is a possibility that she didn't know about that power at the time, but seems unlikely tho…
I can understand Chopper facing discrimination among the human population.
But Pudding being discriminated in WCI where everyone look bizarre & consist of different races? What? And she was one of Big mom daughter & people still dare to bully her? A third eye is apparently too weird in WCI??
Feel like forced drama where Pudding will really fall in love with Sanji & turn good. It's the Viola situation again. Oda will probably spin it to show how Sanji's kindness was a good thing.
I have conflicting feelings about this chapter. On the one hand, Pudding's change of heart and "sad backstory" feels forced as hell (just like so many other things in this arc), but on the other, it was helluva funny to see her break down in tears etc. Inner/Outer Pudding/Sanji and Luffy's entrance were all kinds of awesome though.

the architecture in the flshback doesn't seem something you would see on whole cake island or any other totland island (they don't appear to be made of sweets)
but we see very little of that to be certain
Guys, Oda had this in mind from the very moment he introduced Pudding, how can you say it is "forced"?

I don't understand this argument. How does environment consisting of different races and bizzare people warrants no discrimination? Why does beign daughter of big mom warrants no discrimination towards her? I don't get it, it isn't like there is any police force on the island to keep handle on bullies, or at least not that we know of.
Yeah, the chapter's set-up kills the fake memories/Pudding trick theory for me.
I guess we can start with the pros - there's going to be serious chaos next chapter, Luffy's entrance was awesome, in general just a pretty fun kind of chapter.
But the cons….surely there HAS to be something more to this?
Like I'm sure everyone has said, three eyes are the thing that creeps out Big Mom? When most of her roster is filled with eccentric looking children and associates? Even in the OP world in general, a third eye should be small potatoes in terms of "freak people".
So I'm not a fan of this. There was more to be hinted with Pudding, but I personally enjoyed her more when she was evil and manipulative, and I wanted Sanji to get the last laugh over her. But a heel turn like this? It overlaps a little too much with Baby 5 and that other girl Franky fought.

We've not had much information on the Three Eyed Tribe yet, so possibly there's a historical reason (justified or not) for the discrimination.
Favourite moment this chapter was Katakuri at the end being paralysed into inaction by the absurd future he's foreseen over the next page.
Damn, this is the first time I notice that Katakuri has a Glasgow smile. That's badass point right there! And he gives off this Zoro-like feeling about him. Probably intentional since he's Big Mom's No. 2.

As much as this arc doesn't seem to deserve it, I am going to give Oda the benefit of the doubt here.
Maybe Pudding memory powers are at play here? She was bullied because she was different, so she used her powers to make BM think she was her daughter. When she found out that wasn't enough for BM to like her, she used the powers again to make BM think the third eye was useful having the power to read poneglyphs.
This wouldn't justify why people in OP world would find her weird to the point of bullying her (even if that's not Totto Land, it's not like the rest of OP world is any less bizarre), but could work for the other aspects. Plus, "Pudding for NN" supporters could benefit from her eye not taking Robin's utility away.
EDIT: Actually, looking at the buildings at the background, it was clearly TL.

only thing i can think is that big mom was kinda joking and didn't know how much that third eye bothered pudding, anything other than that doesn't make much sense since she is the captain of a crew of freaks

Timeco's memory theory might be the case? Idk.

Forced doesn't mean unplanned.
I am trying to understand why people think pudding would not get bullied just because she on a island full of freaks .
People are acting like children or people in fact need some deep reason or motive to be mean to people .
She is the odd person out with 3 eyes and people ( other famliy members etc etc ) make fun \abuse her .
It rather simple .
Great chapter…..you guys forgot about sanji 'chivalry'....when it come to protect a lady his boost of power increase lol... he can beat or at least hold katakuri...wtf for 2 years training if he cant hold katakuri...or they need 10 years lol...
katakuri also shock and hesitate with big mom... he dodged 'TWICE"

Just like Sanji with the Vinsmokes :ninja:
that make no sense for me that she was bullied for having 3 eyes. look at all the freak in that place and having 3 eye is weird? doent make any sense
There is no chance in hell Sanji is gonna beat Katakuri. Not even a possiblity.
That being said, great chapter. Sanji dodging his attack like that, very nice.
He is gonna beat the sh*t out of him. I HOPE SANJI AWAKENS THE TSUNAMI IN HIM!!!!

the buildings in the flashback don't seem to be made of candy7sweets,so it probably was not whole cake island..or any place on totland really
but they are kind of flamboyant and we see very little of them,so maybe it is,i don't know.
Just like Sanji with the Vinsmokes :ninja:
In some ways yes LOL.
Hell he get bullied just because he wanted to cook .
