Damn Pudding seemed jealous of Nami. Also Judge seems to be in deep thought. Maybe he has a plan or some special technology to get them out of this.

RE: One Piece 864: The Vinsmoke Family Slaughter Plot
I just remembered that we still don't know why Big Mom decided to betray Germa instead of allying with them like she did with the Sun and Firetank pirates.
Right now my theory is that the only marriages she honors are the ones that are primarily to give her more soldiers, since you can't strengthen an army with dead people, and they might try to avenge any fallen leaders. Pudding said she's betrayed many people so this probably isn't the first time an assassination plan has happened, so I'm guessing that Mom only betrays people that have something she can "take," like Germa's cloning tech. Of course, this is just speculation until we (hopefully) get an answer.
My theory has always been that she just doesn't want to honour her end of the bargain. Judge wants BM to invade and hold North Blue for him. That's quite a big commitment.

@Count:
Oda will make up whatever convenient plot circumstances are necessary for Big Mom to be vulnerable. If we are to learn about Pudding manipulating Big Mom's memories in, say, an Elbaf marriage flashback, there's all sorts of factors that could be at play to make it possible. Oda will do whatever he wants to make sure the plot flows how he wants to build-up stuff. Like having Luffy reel in a random poisonous fish and recklessly eat it so Reiju can be introduced and have an excuse to show off her poison sucking abilities. Or Pudding happening to be Bond villain monologuing when Sanji is visiting her room, as well as bragging to Luffy and Nami about killing Sanji at the wedding for no other reason besides sheer arrogance, because the plot deems it necessary for the Straw Hats to have ample knowledge to prepare a plan for the wedding. Or Kaido's introduction and meeting the Kid Alliance in general. Or Law's fruit being broken on paper, yet he still gets beaten by Doflamingo and Trebol because of inferior physical stats and without even switching their minds to confuse them. Or Usopp's face being scary enough to make Sugar faint just because.
He doesn't care about power levels, as he makes shortcuts for whatever makes the narrative more interesting as the priority. And Big Mom's a pretty arrogant and petty lady in general, so it's not hard for her family to manipulate. Which they've already been doing by hiding secrets about events that have happened in her own living quarters.
The idea doesn't even fit with where Oda seems to be going with BM and the Yonkou in general. Big Mom is portrayed as a cunning mafia-esque character. She should really be the one doing the manipulating. And part of the setup of the four Yonkou arc seems to be in portraying the Yonkou as near untouchable power houses. If all you need to control a Yonkou is a somewhat convenient devil fruit it throws the whole power balance of the one piece world into question.
About memory-manipulating Big Mom, it's really not THAT hard if you're no complete stranger to her. Just wait a little bit until the right moment and then do it. It may not be completely trivial, but also not too farfetched either.
The whole situation reminds me of Ace failing to kill the sleeping Whitebeard. It all seems doable until you realize that we're talking about a Yonkou.
I mean just look back at how much pain Reiju was in when her memories were being changed. Can you imagine BM just sitting there taking that? It doesn't make sense.

@uniaka:
I still don't get that ''cake solves all'' prediction. Isn't BM more likely to keep sanji around if he shows his awesome cook skills? Considering he is much better then the guys she has and killed this chapter.
And BM is aware of pudding's memory powers. Wh would pudding not delete from her family memory that she has that power and not allow them to guess what she can do to them? If she did change their memories and all will be revealed. And BM doesn't suspect anything at all knowing she has that power? Considering how she treats her family bad, she should expect betrayal.
I think people have a false idea of just how easy it is for Pudding to manipulate memories. With Reiju she had physically interact with her head and the process took time. I really doubt she could easily do that to the likes of Big Mom.

RE: One Piece 863: The Consumate Gentleman
Are you suggesting that an Emperor like Kaidou wouldn't brush aside whatever Haki or defense she has?
We have two emperors who are incredibly strong and nigh impervious to damage.What reason do you have to assume one is stronger than the other?

RE: One Piece 863: The Consumate Gentleman
I know she can use her homies… BUt what else can her powers to besides taking life but just if you are afraid from her.
I doubt that without this fear and her homes that's all to her...
She's also nearly indestructible and can seemingly rip buildings apart like it's nothing.

RE: One Piece 863: The Consumate Gentleman
Where the hell are the Vinsmoke? I can't see them at all. Did they escape?:blink:
They say at the beginning that the Strawhats are basically in two teams. Team destroy photo with Luffy Brook, Pedro and Jinbe and Team save the Vinsmokes with Sanji, Nami, Chopper and Carrot. Presumably that stuff will be covered separately.

RE: Chapter 862: The Intelligent Ones
that make no sense for me that she was bullied for having 3 eyes. look at all the freak in that place and having 3 eye is weird? doent make any sense
In Totland long-arms, long-legs minks and Fishmen are everywhere. But Pudding is literally the only 3-eyed person.

RE: Chapter 862: The Intelligent Ones
Guys, Oda had this in mind from the very moment he introduced Pudding, how can you say it is "forced"?
Forced doesn't mean unplanned.

RE: Chapter 862: The Intelligent Ones
I would love Sanji to kick Katakuri's ass but it wont happen, How can he lose to Vergo but win against Katakuri? Unless he gets a huge power up.
Simple he didn't actually lose to Vergo. Vergo just hurt him.
