Basically what other people said, he received training from King Kai, Yamcha was stronger than Krillin before Krillin got his potential unlocked by the elder, he was stronger than Krillin when they fought Vegeta and Nappa( at least according to official power levels).

He just became a gag(or always was) being the guy that always ends up with the short end of the stick and beat up, then he became a baseball player and forgot about his training, even if he is rusty right now I doubt he is weaker than Roshi.

P.S: Wow seeing your other posts seems like you just hate the character, I don't care that much I'm more bothered(or find it stupid like I said above) that they took the old man with them, not that Yamcha wasn't in Freeza's arc or will be in the tournament.

I actually don't hate Yamcha and actually believe he got a raw deal in the manga due to Toriyama
introducing Krillin and just plain sucking at developing characters (for the most part) it's just fun to bust his balls.

Was it retconned that there should actually be 5 Kaioshins? One Surpreme Kaioshin and 4 for each part of the universe? I mean, our Kaioshin is actually the east Kaioshin. He was upgrade to Surpreme Surpreme Kaioshin after everyone died. Also, why is King Kai still around? Death obviously matters to gods, seeing how Kaioshin is alone right now, and seeing how Gowasu was killed and he stayed dead. And let's not forget that Kami also died. So why is King Kai still around (except for comic relieve reasons)?
-28 Worlds with humans make no sense whatsoever. Not at all. No way around it.

-I'm sure Lunch is living an happy life elsewhere.
-Because those thing happened years ago when they were kid and was overshadown by Gorilla Goku. I'm pretty sure Goku is the only one that saw them more than once. The three made a wish that made them younger.

-I think he had those at the end of Dragon Ball. Maybe his eyes got messed up in to much study.

-It seems the number of Kaioshin was retconned. Like Goku that keep his body when he dies he also kept his body. And he already lives in realm of the dead(that's even how Goku trained with him). The old Kaioshin also gave his life to Goku and got right back up with the ring on his head.Buu could simply their body in the afterlife once they popped again and he absorbed 2 of them.
-No 28 planets planets makes no sense but that's what it is.

For some weird reason I actually like Jaco, but they should introduce Bulma's sister properly and have her appear once in a while. I mean, we followed Bulma's life for 30something years now and suddenly she has a sister?

Finally the Tournament of Power arc: I love that they want to reintroduce 17 and 18 as battlers, and I hope Tien get's some time to shine, but really: Muten Roshi is the first one that comes to mind? Also if the universe is really at stake, Piccolo should fly to Namek and absorb more fighter Namekians.

Tien is never around so they can't think about him on the spot and nobody think of Yamcha for important stuff.
I doubt Picollo is going to force a random namekian to be part of him. It's not like there is a way to undo it.

They are going by fights won, not power levels. Yamcha has a 1, goten and trunks are at 0, while Roshi and Tien are world martial arts champions.

If it bothers someone that much, assume that Buff Roshi is stronger than the whipper snappers.

Nope. The manga never gave them actual ages, and Bra's birthday has contradicting years depending on the source. Mostly its that GT portrayed Bra as looking a little older and more like a girly girl teenager than young tomboy Pan so it was always kind of assumed Bra was older.

The way that berus and whis reacted to the androids being "enhanced humans" points to an existing restriction to artificial beigns, but there was Buu and the magma robot already.

Because Arale is powered by gag humor. She's unstoppable when its funny. But in a serious situation she'd be pretty weak.

Picked up the manga and caught up!

It's missing a lot of the fun character stuff. The characters make all the right decisions - especially Goku - and that's both a good and a bad thing in my eyes.

It's good because… well, better plotting. I like the gag with the sealing label much more than Goku just being plain forgetful because it was so very obviously just to keep extending the plot, for example. Just that single line about Super Saiyan Rose makes things better and that's all that was needed, but we never got even that in the anime. You can assume stuff, but if the story doesn't address it directly, it's patchy writing.

It's something I'd criticize.. because I like Goku's easy-going nature (and his confidence) being a flaw just as much as something endearing, it's something that hasn't really explored before with his character. I also like the Kaioshin and Beerus having those moments of "incompetency". They're not perfect and their flaws actually now have clear consequences (that being the universe only having 28 planets with civilizations left - as overblownly small as it seems when considering the size of a galaxy) than just being a "charming trait".

It's gonna be a problem if it's not addressed, of course, which is very likely considering it's Toei, but for the time being it's interesting to me. For example at this point Manga Goku asking for the tournament wouldn't make sense because he isn't so easy-going and overconfident.

I also like Goku Black's more calm cray in the anime more. One of my favorite bits about Goku Black was that he was kind of a mix of Goku and Zamasu, but also how he was just so elegant about murdering everything. It was a lot more fun than generic Zamasu. Manga just has literally two Zamasu.

No Baby Pan chapter is a crime. Mario Kart Z was good, but no Baby Pan episode.

Same thing with Squirrel Girl somehow beating Thanos and other big bads at Marvel, it's a joke character, doing stuff that makes no sense for comedic effect.

I said this before and i'll say it again:
Yamcha is the prime example of wasted charachter potential in Dragon Ball. He has his own fighting style which is actually really cool and was was portraied as a competent fighter at least until the Gero debacle. Hadn't Z become a powerbeam orgy since the Sayians, and instead stayed closer to more "traditional" martial arts (while always as absurdly over the top as possible, of course), him and Tien would have been lots of fun to watch battle. Especially Yamcha, having actual personality.

Sadly Toei is more dedicated in sucking the fanbase's dick as hard as it can instead of trying something unorthodox while potentially fun, which translates in Goku and Vegeta occupying the whole spotlight and everybody else being the joke…

Taking Muten back in action is still a great idea that partially contradicts my point, but makes little to no sense in context. I mean, how can he be considered before all the people who are obviously stronger than him?

Vegeta hasnt had the spotlight since the Hit mini-arc when he was begging Whis to do Gokus "training", Gohan and Krillin has had more screen time than Vegeta since then, and Gohan now feels like he is part of the Main Cast, and Krillin might be in that group too because he is getting another powerup.

Although the thing with Krillin is that the main reason he is getting a push is because he is Luffy, he is getting about to get another episode centered on him.

I mean it is possible that it can still stand at this point, but at least in the anime during the last episode they refer to her as like 4 or 5. Since in the Super timeline she is already born, it would make her 9 in the ending of Z. I only really started to question this as the ending of Z pretty much showing everyone alive and happy kinda takes away the concern of anything in Super as it would seemingly always be true that everyone will survive or only be killed in a way that can come back and be happy in 9 years.

Bra? Pan? Neither were given any hard dates or ages; the latter is a year older than the former, and they're 4/5 IIRC by EoZ (Uub's tournament). As of now they're both babies.

Yeah, it does seem like a foregone conclusion. Although what happening is still in the air. I've seen people predict Goku and Vegeta will lose god ki and/or GoDs will stop being a thing.

Also love Krillin's power up and fighting style. Just wish we saw more of 18's fighting style

Krillin was always known for being a smart fighter, and Gohan completely understimated him, Krillin took advantage of the rules to win.

Yeah, they could at least tell the 10 fighters that the universe will be destroyed. I feel like it'll be something that will be pointed out when it comes to light and made a point of, but again no guarantee, of course.

Great Krillin-centric episode - again love the highlight on skills over strength and I love how smart 18 is. Her interactions with Goku were fun.

New ed this week, too. I thought "Evil Angel and Righteous Devil" was the best ed for Super so far, but I really like the animation of the new ed, not as certain about the song, though.

I like how they had Krillin beat Gohan on April fools day. I wonder if that was intentional. Good fight either way. I love not only what they're doing with this new, confident and smart Krillin but also what they're doing with 18. She's smart is amazingly smart and focused.

Nice shot of 17 at the end, though I wonder if it's deserved. I've never felt he was a great character, and being that he's weaker than Piccolo at this point I fail to see how relevant he'll be to the battle royal. Than again, can I really say that after this episode tried to prove the worth of Krillin and 18? They're working against the overwhelming reality that Goku and Vegeta (and fighters of their level) can blow away anyone on this team with a punch, but still developing their abilities in an interesting way.

Great episode but I'm getting annoyed that they are keeping a secret the real stakes of the tournament from everybody else, hope nobody loses too early because they don't know what is real on the line in this tournament.

Well, the power scales are upside down anyway. Goku saying Piccolo loosing to Frost, even though Piccolo is on Cell/Dabura level, just doesn't make sense. But If power levels matter, than it makes no sense to invite anyone but

Well, the power scales are retconned sure, but I assumed that Frost was stronger than Frieza back in the day, hence why Frost beat him in terms of power. Was that ever stated? Also, while I complain about power level, at the same time this team is still comprised of the strongest (more or less) people in the world given the timeframe. It's just that the top two or three greatly overshadow the rest.
