Bobbin finally snap the hell out of indecisive sanji.."what the hell are you doing here"….good one of the chapter
Chapter 854: What Am I Doing
-
-
I cant tell if people here are actually disappointed with bobbin or repeating the meme anymore.
He's not OHKO by sanji unexpectedly kicking him hard into a wall, yeah he aint a commander but he's no punk
-
Can't wait for Luffy to cause a scene after he eats the bento. I hope the wedding does happen but with all the Vinsmokes prepared for the betrayal and everyone just playing along. Need to see Pudding in that bridal dress
Same need to see that, Oda don't disappoint me when it comes to her.

All I want to know is where is this guy:
http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/onepiece/images/a/a1/Big_Mom_Pirate_Member_8.png/revision/latest?cb=20160625092054My endless need for an interesting dwarf…
Interestingly enough, rumor has it this one believes himself to be one of Mama's long lost children after one of the ministers told him so. Upon hearing that, he swore lifelong loyalty to his true mother and joined her crew. :ninja:
-
Zoro looks awesome in that bike.
Count chicken looks nice.
Big Mom seems to portrayed as fully evil now but her crew is also grossly incompetent and untrustworthy. At least with Doffly he was mostly the only one with the stupid plans and he was a nice fighter in term of choegraphy. Big Mom just have the designs for now.
So Sanji was still thinking suicide? I thought hee just wanted to save his sister but that was fairly stupid.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Not a fan of Jimbei being a bretrayer but it seems Oda is it's ok with betrayal as long as you supposed to have the moral high ground. I stand by the idea the whole Water 7 situation with Usopp was stupid and the resolution even more.

Hey, it wouldn't be anatomically impossible for him to have been conceived in Big Mom. Probably her easiest labor too.
The real question is, does this guy consider himself her son? :ninja:
-
Well, I guess Brulée's explanation on the roulette does settle the debate on Big Mom being fair in her deals and her will to let others live by their own desires…
I never saw her as generous so it doesn't change anything to me. It always made sense the deck were stacked on her favor and Pedro did leave with Big Mom permission.
-
I wonder what would Zoro do if he was in the same scenario as Sanji. Similar behavior or just wreck everyone until he is free?
-
@Kaido:

That's obviously Crocomum.
-
I love how Jinbe was like. "Fuck that wheel"
Solid chapter.
-
@Tom:
So Tamago and co. are having their meeting on the second floor, while Jinbe and Nami are causing a commotion on the third floor. Tamago himself was on the third floor in the previous chapter, while Luffy was fighting the countless BM troops there. I don't understand how none of the people in the meeting noticed the huge ruckus going on one floor above them. Tamago himself had to walk around on the third floor to get to the meeting, how is it possible to not encounter any of the soldiers who are running through the corridors looking for Luffy.
Nami and Jinbei weren't on the third floor, nothing in this chapter said as much.
Last time we saw them they were on level 1 prison floor and the only minister there was Opera and Smoothie had the floor and 2nd on lock down.
I agree. And speaking of subtelity I also don't like how blatantly Pudding got established as Sugar 2.0.
How is pudding like Sugar?
-
And as far as everyone knows, the only one causing trouble is Jimbe and the ones that could speak are either knocked out or lying.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Luffy not being in the castle works in favor of not being able to confirm these rumors. And as soon as they get to the 4th they are told to keep quiet by Smoothie.
Big Mom is not even losing the fight, her crew is.
-
That is the best cover art ever.
reminds me of smoker. just better in every way possible
-
I think Nami is clever enough to understand Luffy went to the promise location. Has Brook said this is something Sanji and Luffy has to deal together so I doubt they will go there. How can they help Brook will be difficult though because Mum will probably "sleep" with him
-
Are the Big Mom pirates even aware of the connection between Jimbe and Luffy?
-
Really like the Smoker cover page.
My first thought: "Why are Chopper and Smoker in the same cover page?"
I blame the mistake on Smoker actually riding a bike in the manga :ninja: -
@Tamiel:
Are the Big Mom pirates even aware of the connection between Jimbe and Luffy?
No. Which Jimbei can take advantage of at the wedding if Opera keeps his lips zipped.
-
I think Sanji will be no where seen during the wedding…so vinsmokes will use their technology to create a Sanji like face and put it on 1 of their clone soldiers...that way the wedding can still happen and the SHs can escape. I still want to see the massacre during the wedding turn into a battle between the BM pirates & the Germa.
Since big mom said she is opening the treasure box after the ceremony...I want to see that happen.
I don't know how they're going to get Brook out and escape all so quietly
-
So what happened to caesar
-
@Count:
No. Which Jimbei can take advantage of at the wedding if Opera keeps his lips zipped.
Apparently he could not do what he wanted to. Also a lot of people saw him rebelling so it would really be weird if he made an appearance.
-
Zoro on a motorcycle was sick but honestly the best part was Chopper sitting on the front fender.
-

Wth happened to Bobbin's boyoyoyon? He doesn't say it anymore!
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Same need to see that, Oda don't disappoint me when it comes to her.
You reckon we see baeju in a bridesmaid dress? :ninja:
-
@Shobu:
That's because i wasn't trying to answer it xD
I tried to show that something unique is happening and took you just to explain a further on that matter.
OK thanks for nothing now someone tries to speculate for what the drink is?

No more like some of Pudding sisters.

Cool chapter I enjoyed it!
I know people aren't really satisfied with Opera lying and everyone but Mont'dor just taking his word for it but you have to consider the environment they live in. Opera did see his brother get his life sucked out of him just earlier that day, it was under different circumstances but it's still got to be scary. Then you have Smoothy, one of the 3 Sweet Commanders, who told everyone to keep the info about Brook in the treasure room a secret and that was only a few chapters ago. The kids don't want to upset mom because they know they might be getting a whoopin'. I think many of us can relate to that. That's just the environment they live in. As for the random mooks who let Luffy, Nami and Jinbe escape, it doesn't seem like many want to come forward and let anyone know that they were partially at fault either. They know what could happen so why wouldn't they listen to Big Bro Opera or Big Sis Smoothy? Keep that ship quiet and hopefully we can take care of the problem in secret is probably what they are thinking.
Fully expecting to see Brook fight Big Mom and/or the big Homies with Luffy and getting a clear explanation of how their powers interact with one another.
In the spoiler thread I talked about a potential payoff later in regards to not seeing Brook actually hurt Prometheus and only getting told about it for now. I have a feeling Oda wants to keep that to himself for now to have some sort of epic moment where Brook saves Luffy. If this was the first time Prometheus has actually taken damage then fighting it by conventional means must be near impossible. I can easily envision a scene with Luffy pointlessly swinging at Zues and Prometheus while they just wail on him with fire and keeping his support away with lightning. Brook jumping in with some epic attack saving Luffy in a way that only he could while getting an understanding on why Brook is able to do what he does seems pretty fitting and worth the off panel fight.
If something of that nature doesn't happen then I'll question why Oda off paneled all of Brook's fight with Big Mom, and if Brook doesn't get to later show his combat skills with Mom's abilities on panel when the action is in full force then I will really cry foul. It all seems like deliberate set up to me, so I'll just wait to judge that aspect until its all over.
Good for Sanji, now lets have them meet up, tear up and begin the counter attack!
-
Well, I guess Brulée's explanation on the roulette does settle the debate on Big Mom being fair in her deals and her will to let others live by their own desires…
Oh, nice to have the chapter so early by the way
Its not even up for debate. She is extremely unjust, she does as she pleases.
She promised Sanji that Strawhats will live if he will marry Pudding without making problems- reality is that she planned Sanji to have his brain blown out by a bullet and Strawhats to be killed next day.
I like that she is this type of evil, really - it adds A LOT to her as villain, no rules applied. Doflamingo looks honorable compared to her, especially when it comes to treating his crewmembers far better than Big Mom acts towards her own flesh and blood.
-
@Long:
I cant tell if people here are actually disappointed with bobbin or repeating the meme anymore.

Any character that bleeds like that after a kick like that ain't no top tier dog.
-
Wth happened to Bobbin's boyoyoyon? He doesn't say it anymore!
The sound effects say boyoyon
-
Something interesting I forgot. Notice Pudding's reaction to Big Mom in this chapter. Looking somewhat put off by her savage speech. Very similar to the first time we saw her when Big Mom gobbled up a Homie but screamed in terror. What is it about her that causes that reaction? She seems just as mean and blood thirsty but then its like she has to take a step back from the awfulness of her mother. She seems a little more complex than I first thought.

How is pudding like Sugar?
In the way that if she's knocked out, shit will hit the fan. Therefore, it's definitely gonna happen - and I don't like how blatantly that got telegraphed here.
-
Cool chapter. So after some new faces at the meeting in this chapter, we now have 29 unique members of Big Mom Pirates without a name yet.
I'm curious as to how we will get their names, SBS, data book?–- Update From New Post Merge ---

I was thinking Mont d'Or was going to be like Sugar, in that after he's knocked out all the prisoners would be released from the books.
-
yassssss by bb sanji is finally taking action!!!!!
-
I was thinking Mont d'Or was going to be like Sugar, in that after he's knocked out all the prisoners would be released from the books.
Is this maybe still possible, too? I forgot what exactly happened to the books.
-
@Kaido:
Considering all that most of them can say is singing the type of object they are, it's not too surprising.
Even if it's most of them, there's a lot of potential witnesses when you number the objects with all the actual people that witnessed the escape and then all the other people and objects who might have overheard what's going on. I can sort of buy it that Big Mom doesn't know since her quarters are isolated or something. And she might have been napping when Pedro bombed the place.
But Mont D'Or and all those other guys at the table? Opera sure is a capable guy when he managed to contain the information of Luffy's escape and Jinbe's betrayal all while being knocked out.
This is what happens when the plot becomes too complicated. The author starts cutting corners and it's even more noticeable in this arc than it was in Dressrosa.
If you want to justify each suspicious fortunate coincidence which helps the good guys succeed, that's fine but you can at least appreciate that people who are complaining have valid complaints. Either that or Big Mom has been making kids with her cousins or something.
-
With Jimbe and Sanji handling enranged army main guys that easy, they sure can fight sweet commanders this arc and maybe win. Only question is who is going to help luffy beat BM. Bonney? Urouge? Capone? Luffy's fleet or crew return after they saw luffy's vivre card?
-

I agree, the match-up between Brook's and Big mom's fruits is too sweet to only use for 2-3 scenes. It will also give a legitimate reason for the strawhats to win without making the yonko seem weak. They just happen to have the means to neutralize a large part of big mom's power. Much like the sky island arc with Enel and Luffy's fruits.

You might be reading too much into this. I saw it as a demonstration of how important the wedding scheme is to Big Mom and her overly caring attitude which Pudding says annoys her, nothing more. If only because the wedding HAS to take place, with all the hype it got and active subplots : the Vinsmokes, the cake, booby-trapped Tamatebako, Capone, etc. If something happens to Pudding and the ceremony is cancelled, none of these can be resolved in a satisfying manner, so from a storytelling point of of view I can't see any benefit.
And then afterwards, once the ceremony has started and the cat's out of the box, there won't be a point in harming her anymore save maybe as a leverage against Big Mom - take her precious three-eye hostage and get anything you need in return. But then that would be quite a different approach compared to operation SOP. And I can' really envision the Straw Hats taking someone hostage. So, no Sugar here (by the way, with such a name, could she have been one of Mama's long lost children ? :ninja:)

This isn't really all that notable, but it's pretty endearing to see Jimbei rescue Nami from Big Mom's prison and having the two of them team-up as they're escaping. After all of Arlong's shenanigans, it's great to see character interactions like this that flip standards on their head. Especially after that talk they had in Fishman Island where Nami forgave Jimbei.
-
Is this maybe still possible, too? I forgot what exactly happened to the books.
Well, Jinbe burned the book imprisoning Luffy and Nami, and it seemed like other books caught fire, but I'm not sure it was all of them.
Your Pudding theory might be right, if she removed memories from a lot of people and they start remembering the terrible things they've witnessed. But once she removes the memory, could they get it back somehow? I'm not sure about her abilities. -

Nami piggy riding Jinbe was so awesome after Arlong Park and Fishman Island. I'm eager for more Nami and Jinbe interactions

Monet? Where? Did she survived Punk Hazard after all?
Monet x MontD'or

Same. Hopefully Jimbei and Sanji will also get notable interactions this arc due to them teaming up against Wadatsumi in Fishman Island.
Also, as random as it sounds, I like Nami's poofy pants. It's a bit refreshing to see her wearing non-skimpy clothes for once. Not that she should't wear what she wants or should be shamed in any way for looking attractive. I just appreciate creative design variety compared to what is typically expected from established patterns.
-
I hate that things for the strawhats are so easy. All their opponents are conveniently unaware of their whereabouts, thou the castle is full of guards and homies…
-
In the way that if she's knocked out, shit will hit the fan. Therefore, it's definitely gonna happen - and I don't like how blatantly that got telegraphed here.
It not really what BM could be referring too imo, more of the idea if she gets hurt/killed/kidnapped BM loses her way to becoming PK.
Specially after last chapter.

So far I'm really digging the clothes of the Straw Hats in this arc
Although I don't really understand what Nami is wearing, is this some sort of overalls?:ninja: -

!
Jimbei wearing jolly roger kimono patterns this arc is the best he's ever looked. I hope that's his "main" Straw Hat design, like the Straw Hats' when they first showed up post-timeskip.
