For the heck of it: the Viz version's released and named the chapter "Chobro"
I'm curious what the literal translation there was- my guess was something like Cho-aniki. Any help?

I kinda hope it ISN'T Cho-Aniki, due to the mental imagery that would invoke.

Yeah it was "Choniki". In English it was "Bropper"
Yeah it was "Choniki". In English it was "Bropper"
In English SCANLATION it was Bropper. Viz went with "Chobro".
Is Choniki supposed to potentially play off of the tanuki get?
Probably Oda is surprised to hear that Kochikame will put an end to its 40 years' serialization this month.
This news got released yesterday, but I guess Oda has known it before. If he had explicitly mentioned Kochikame's ending in author's comment in Weekly Shonen Jump, this news would have been leaked by illegal scanlations before the official announcement, which is why he didn't bother to specify the reason why he was shocked.
Thanks. That's probably it.
@John:
as I've already said, it makes absolutely no sense for this DF to exist. it's cool and fits with Totland but still doesn't make any sense.
Cracker's fruit makes perfect sense because it fits the theme of Totland. That's all that matters, trying to make more of it is pointless.
So…
Is numbering people in Sanjis crew is a little connection to Natzis and how they gave(tattooed) numbers to people?
https://www.ushmm.org/wlc/en/article.php?ModuleId=10007056
They are also all blonde like ubermensh were defined to be..
That's utterly and completely different. There's a huge difference between ID codes for dehumanized prisoners and getting lazy with naming quadruplets.
VIZ/Mangastream Comparisons, brought to you late on Labor Day!
Thanks Bellsario!
Viz really smooths out the wrinkles for english speakers.
I expected a fight between sanji and his 2 olders brothers.
! BRING ON THE ZORDS!
!
@uniaka:
I expected a fight between sanji and his 2 olders brothers.
I'd really like to see a full battle between Sanji and his father. I see it more reasonable, because Judge is Sanji's father and the most hated person by him, and he is also one of the main antagonist of this arc.
And the names of the Vinsmoke brothers follows an order:
-The eldest brother is Ichiji. Ichi means One
-The second is Niji. Ni means Two
-Sanji is the third brother. San means Three
-Yonji is the joungest. Yon means Four
Everybody noticed that already.
For the heck of it: the Viz version's released and named the chapter "Chobro"
Also I noticed something in the final page spread I hadn't before now (but may have been mentioned already): Sanji's eyebrows curve in the opposite direction of all of his other siblings.
I really wish Oda would re-use some of Chopper's other forms. For example, today's chapter would've been great to whip out brain-point to analyze the situation and come up with a weakness/solution.
Considering the design on their belts the Vinsmoke family is strangely proud of their eyebrows.
I think Charlotte Cracker isn't somebody to be messed with. His Haki can pierce through Luffy's Gear 4th, and he's got such a high bounty.
But I like how Oda's writing these newer chapters. The Big Mom Arc is progressing faster than Dressrosa.
Oda's also trying to show that no Devil Fruit has to be inherently useless. It's all based on how it's mastered. When u think about the "Awakening" of fruit powers, it adds another dimension to it

You know, you've got quite the eye Greg. Would love to read more of your theories that you don't include in these articles.

If you think about it we were introduced to the Gum Gum fruit quite early which seemed to be for comic relief only. But now Luffy trained his power to the point that isn't the point anymore.
Though if I remember correctly Rob Lucci said something like "normaly a fruit doesn't make one weaker" that could mean there are some fruits that are useless. (?)
Luffy has struggled against the main bosses subordinates before. Like the fat guy during Sky Island, or some of the random zombies in Thriller bark, Mr 3. during Alabasta
It creates dramatic tension, if he steamrolled everyone then it wouldn't be that interesting week to week. If he actually fights Lin Lin I imagine he will have some trick up his sleeve…
I think it's too early for Luffy to be Yonko level.
The subordinates of the Yonko like Back the Drought or Charlottle Cracker are probably equivalent to Doflamingo. And it took Luffy so much gel from others to defeat him
- That whole awkward "We stand in awe and are left speechless" bubble of MS just says in VIZ, "I can't believe they wrapped up the long war of Broc Collie!"
Yeah, I had never seen a line more blatantly Mangastream than that one.
Seeing it now, Chobro seems like such an obvious way to translate the title. Reads so much better than the awkward Bropper.
Almost everybody has already made the comment since Yonji appearence.
Almost everybody EXCEPT for the guy Greg was responding to, genius.
So much salt here.

First thing of all, we most know that it's not the haki itself who's doing all the job. I mean it's a sword before putting haki on it.. like what we've already seen before..
So it depends on the sword itself, whether it's capable of or not. In Cracker case, he already said that his blade is special

Chopper small form is Brain Point! We are seeing it all the time.

Maybe he means he can do his illuminati looking hands sign to spot weaknesses
I think its been years since he has used that to find someone's weakness
If brulee is a team fight, he should use it IMO
@Long:

It's also been years since he's been in a meaningful fight.

We haven't seen that in ages
Cracker's power made me rethink the power level system and include "yonko commander" level.
I didn't know we are on the oro jackson forum…
Cracker's power made me rethink the power level system and include "yonko commander" level.
- Pirate King level : Roger, prime Whitebeard and Garp.
- Yonko/Fleet admiral level : Shanks, Blackbeard, Kaido, Big Mom, Dragon, Akainu, prime Rayleigh and Sengoku.
- Admiral level : Kizaru, Fujitora, Aokiji, Mihawk.
- Yonko top tier commander level : Ben Beckman, Magellan, Jack, probably Shogun, Shiliew, Sabo, Cracker, Marco, Jozu, Vista, Doflamingo, Luffy.
- Shichibukai level : Jinbe, Law, Zoro, Hankock, Burgess, Crocodile, Enel, Kid, Urouge, Drake, Kuma.
- Top tier vice-admiral level : Vergo, all of the Buster Call vice-admirals and Pica.
- Vice-admiral level : Smoker, Sanji, Vinsmoke Judge, Bartolomeo, Cavendish.
- Low vice-admiral level : Meynard, Bastilie and others.
Garp? In the first tier? There must be stronger people like Dragon or the Yonkous…
I think he was referring to Prime Garp instead of current Garp. He and Roger nearly did kill each other many times.
Yay, let's discuss tiers and power levels!
But let's do this seriously, okay? Therefore we need some calculations applying real world physics and give us among others some results about how much megatons/gigatons/teratons damage they can dish out.
Despite them being chained up, Chopper looks pretty active considering he just used Monster Point. Back in Fishman Island he needed Robin's help to do the blood transfusion. I'm wondering if this is something Oda forgot, or if Chopper is actually just showing an improvement in his stamina after using the form so much.
Lol looking at the newest anime OST list, it's full of spoilers! lol not like the openings are any better, still..

Wasn't that because Franky over extended it while on his body? And Luffy beat him up too. I don't recall it very well.

Chopper had the same problem immediately after the Fishman Island fights, which were a curb stomp. I think it also hit him after he used it in the Smile Factory
Welp, Luffy did went all out on Franky-into-Chopper's-body:
[hide][/hide]
But did Chopper used his Monster Point again in PH?
It seems Shanks really does like bloomers:
!
What a nice chapter, as always I really enjoyed it.
I'm in the same boat with many others about the wedding being for Lucky Roux(Roo?). Yeah there are a few more of Shanks' mates that aren't seen but he is the only other prominent one. The island does bring to mind Koala's home town but her island had a breed of fat cactus so I doubt they are one in the same.
With the end of this story I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Vergo, Monet, Brown Beard or Smiley showing up next. Who ever it is I'm certain he, it or she will cross paths with the others.
Cracker's true design is really cool! Love those eyes and that hair! His bounty situation is a lot like Franky's with the armor getting the photo instead of the users actual face. I'd like to see how General Franky matches up to Cracker's armor, seems like it would be a fun match.
I know some people had concern about Luffy's busters seemingly multiplying before launching his punches as apposed to the usual gatlings being so fast it only appears that there are more arms but I'm certain its the same idea. Only now Luffy is throwing his X-Busters at such a short distance they don't go anywhere only appear to multiply.
Can't wait to see what else Nami accomplishes with that Vivre card
I want to say that Chopper should be weak at the moment but if Luffy was catching fake Namis, Carrots, etc for a long time during the night I suppose Chopper's 3 hour recovery time from Monster Point has already passed. I love that he is asserting himself as the "superior" with his big idea to use Brûlée's power against her. I'm so excited to see what they come up with! I can't imagine those ball and chains will be too much of a problem for either Carrot or Chopper to deal with. And look there goes that big black cat on top of the house again. A chapter ago you could only make out a spec of that cats image, I hope it becomes a prominent character in the coming chapters.
Brook and Pedro sneaking around the castle seems like it's going to be so fun.
Ah Big Mom and the exchange of gifts! I can already see some of Fishman Island's treasure being lumped in with the gifts for the Vinsmokes and that bomb causing some internal conflict with Judge and the rest of Germa! And I love that Big Mom seems to almost hope that the Straw Hats actually make it to her. Back at Fishman Island she seemed to be intrigued that Luffy would stand up to her in such a way and she just may be the type to appreciate someone like Luffy and would love a bit of a challenge.
Wow a trembling Sanji. Yonji, Reiji and Judge didn't have this affect on Sanji but these 2 guys do? Man we are in for a great flash back and almost certainly a few epic fights revolving around Sanji. Man we are in for some amazing character development!
But did Chopper used his Monster Point again in PH?
Yes. In the Smile Factory to subdue the giant, drug addled children.
Wasn't that because Franky over extended it while on his body? And Luffy beat him up too. I don't recall it very well.
Even in Fishman Island though after not really taking any hits in Monster Point he couldn't move after it was over.

Its really not THAT long though, I mean how much time passed from him falling in the water to moving around on the merry? An hour or two? Its totally within reason he could be walking around after a short amount of time it was never depicted as a whole day he couldnt move

Only a few hours at most passed between Brulee sucking them into the mirror and Chopper explaining this idea, as it all took place before we got the "The next morning" transition. So I mean I guess it's possible that he could be up and ready, but it seems like quite a shift from being nearly completely immobile(Robin helping him move, Law carrying him) to being up and ready to go just a few hours later.
Friendly reminder.
No chapter this week.

It is suppose to last only for some hours.
