Indecision 2016 - In Soviet Russia, we elect american president!

On top of that, I've yet to do any checking up on it myself, but word is Pence is an Evangelical. That alone, if true, biases my against him since this are the last people who should be in power.
-
Once again, this time via his choice of VP, Donald Trump makes deciding who to vote for painfully simple.
-
A giant billboard of Trumjp and Cruz kissing went up right outside the republican convention center.

Nice. Wonder if they'll make one for Trumppence.

Pence had a strong speech just now, probably won't change anything but he sounded very certain and believable. Minus the freedom of religion bill nothing he has done is that noticeable to the independent public and I think he's a generally solid choice

Sadly, the Trump-Pence-atration logo is dead.
It's been replaced by, well, this.

Looks like something that would be pictured in South Africa in between 1950 and 1990.

Sing a song of Trump Pence…..without the logo.

Clinton has pledged to push a bill to overturn citizens United within her first 30 days in office. Neat.
If it can get the 3/4 agreement it needs is highly unlikely, but…
-

That decision was made specifically as a "fuck you" to her, so it makes sense.
-
I'm seeing a loooot of whining on various cites and people responding to that with "Why would she fight against something that's earned her so much money?!?!" and "Nuh uh, a president can't introduce stuff to congress, senators have to do that!"
To which I have to wonder
-do you actually know anything about CU and how personally targeted it was against her?
-and who do you think those senators work for? Of course the president doesn't do that personally, they ask that it be done, and they try to do it. Potus sets a general agenda. Especially within the first month? Especially if there's a big democrat turnover this time around?I'm so, so tired of the media spin and the default opinion on her being that she's corrupt and sold out just taken as fact without even looking at the history, the narrative is so ingrained now. It's said so much and so often I had the same opinion just earlier this year aout her "obvious" selling out and corruption, and now I just see the fabrication constantly.
The woman is really good about trying to keep promises she makes on the campaign trail. They aren't empty quotes, generally. Its why she was so popular as a senator, its how you keep getting re-elected.
-
I really want this brought up in the debates since it's an issue that actually resonates with the majority of people in both parties and the influence of money in politics is an issue Trump himself used against his competitors in the GOP debates.
If he agrees that it's a good idea, then there you go. If he doesn't, then they can run ads about how he thinks money in politics makes crooked politicians but doesn't want to do anything about it.
-
Is there any one concise place that shows all the instances of Hillary making campaign promises, like before being Senator, and then matches them up with what ones she kept? Because Robby's right, I keep seeing this narrative put forth with basically nothing to support it and I'd like an easy catch-all to throw out.
-
Plotifact would be my first thought, but I don't know how comprehensive they are on older stuff.

Ja, speaking of politifact Hillary Clinton has a 'true' or 'mostly true' rating of 51%. Not great unless you compare it to other politicians and then you're like, wow, it could be worse. A lot worse. For instance Bernie Sanders is only 54% and he has been fact checked less. Barack Obama is 48% but he has been fact checked more. Here is a graph showing politifact's truth rating for a few politicians.
-
Huh, there's only 16 fact checks for Pence. Wonder if being the VP pick will prompt them to go over stuff more
http://www.politifact.com/personalities/mike-pence/
Of those 16, 6 are labeled False
-
It should also be pointed out that there's a distinction between "lying" vs. "being wrong". Just because someone got a 'false' rating on something doesn't mean they "lied" about it. Blatant statements that are outright lies I believe are reserved for the 'Pants on Fire' category. Otherwise, 'false' statements could have just been the results of speakers being misinformed which led to them giving out the wrong 'false' information based on what they knew (which was wrong) or based on their lack of knowledge on the subject (under informed). That's different from lying which entails you knowing the truth and purposefully giving out contrary information.
-
In Trump's case, going by the above posted graph, he also easily has the highest Pants on Fire statements, which suggests either outright falsehood it e staggering ignorance. Your call on which is more worrying.
-
He lies and he suffers bouts of ignorance.
-
-
'Pants on Fire' is definitely worse for me because it's an ethical problem but let's be honest, staggering ignorance is pretty bad too.

God lmao thanks Stephen

Pence looks like a man who doesn't quite know when he lost control of his life.

The republican platform may be from the 50's, but it looks like Hillary's ads are straight from the 60's.

I hear the lady who played Daisy is still alive, can we go full LBJ now?

Its one of the strongest, most famous politcal ads there is. (Along with Daisy and 3AM phone call) It's brilliant that they're reusing it, I said months ago they should since it really is almost point for point the same scenario, down to the guy being nuke happy. The old one almost word for word would be just fine once trump gets the nom. From the editing it looks like they may have actually filmed a four minute version.
Is that actually the same guy 50 years later?
-
She could easily reuse the 3AM phone call, too.

Yep, same actor.

Lol at "SuperPac Man".
-
GOP convention already at "chaos" stage lol. Raging yelling crowds and attempts at introducing rebellious measures against Trump lolll.People really angry about it. Delegate throwing his credentials lanyard on the ground. It's super loud and hard to hear. And its all awesome and I love it.
-
Never Trump delegates have support needed to force rules vote
Whether it'll happen or not is a while other question. But things are looking far from orderly going by the above.
-
They're doing voting on doing the votes and holy hell it's insane, the GOP is internally thrashing and roaring and ripping at itself right now on live TV.

Watching CNN at the moment actually.
They lost (that is the "Never Trump" people) and if I'm to believe CNN, they described it as "crushed".
