I say it openly: Miura has no fucking clue how to conclude his story.
This is what happens when you create a story out of your religious/philosophical thoughts and fears that you seemingly haven't resolved yet.

I wouldve wanted Madhouse to animate Berserk since they dont have a big show for next year with OPM being over.
I doubt Miura will manage to finish Berserk.Shame that such a story won't get it's proper finish…
Though he is still better than Hagi.:ninja:

If its GCI like recent movie trilogy I wont even bother… but...BUT if its properly drawn and animated...holy shit that would be exciting.

This is why you shouldn't openly come out and say things because it can lead to you come off looking
presumptious and bitter.
The monthly schedule did not work out for Miura after years of drawing and publishing chapters on batches.
Understandable but a shame really.
I think you mix Miura and Togashi (HxH author). Togashi is infamous deadbeat who can spend year playing Idolmaster but Miura has rather interesting publishing method though Dark Horse. Which is still damn shame because both Togashi and Miura are masterful mangaka's with depth of stories but other manga authors to shame but they cant be called dependable either.
That….KNAVE.
This is insufferable.
Please stop using internet memes as a source of your information and sense of entitlement. Video games, Idolmaster included, have always been Miura's hobby but never had much influence on his productivity compared to the workload of his artstyle or his age and health. Also, Dark Horse in the US publisher of Berserk, it does not have anything to do with this issue.
And Togashi matter is a different problem.
Fairy Tail author (Mashima) is complete opposite, he has massive work morale and spits out chapters and extra's at tremendous rate but while his art is quite great everything else suck ass. Quality is worth waiting in the end
Mashima has one of the blandest artstyles in the industry. Why would anyone call it great is beyond me.
He drew this right before he went on hiatus a long time ago.

It's an old internet meme started back from 2008. Sansukucomplex wrote an article saying that Miura is going to stop Berserk to play Idolmaster after he wrote in the authors comment section that he bought a 360 along with Idolmaster because he was bored and lonely. After that it kinda blew up into a meme and nowadays it's usually brought up by long time Berserk fans that whenever he takes a break it's due to Idolmaster again.
Here's a good summary of what happened from one of the admins from Skullknight. It's from 2009.
Ya'll are a bunch of bitter fucks. Go back and reread this thread and get a better understanding of history.
The story will get told inthe time it gets told, and it'll get to the end eventually. The pace is slow but progress is clearly being made. The table is being setup for the endgame even now. Griffith and Rickert are now set up, so we just have a bit more with Guts.
Its a shame the monthly schedule didn't work out because for all intents and purposes it should have fit Muira's schedule better than bi-weekly, but I guess it still takes him a little longer than a month to do a proper number of pages. SO maybe he's at less than a page a day now.But hes still productive and you can see it in the quality when the chapters do come out, he's not just half assing these things and releasing scribbles, the constant work ethic is obviously there.
And the CG in the films was fine. It was jarring in the opening battle scene of the first movie, (they perhaps started too ambitious) but it looked fine by the end and the rest of the films in terms of backgrounds and animation looked fantastic, and had much better pacing and mood than the old anime (which I just rewatched recently) Shame they didn't carry over the tv show's soundtrack though.

I wouldve wanted Madhouse to animate Berserk since they dont have a big show for next year with OPM being over.
Madhouse likes doing things that can be successful.
Berserk due to the graphic horror elements is always going to be niche with a small audience.
Madhouse knows how to handle censorship without needing the black screens.
Whoever is gonna animate Berserk I wonder how are they gonna deal with scenes like Farneze fapping?

It's not really bitter fucks but naive fucks. By this point, nobody should really be expecting a consistent release schedule for this series. We're probably on hiatus number 50 by now, do you really need it to happen 50 more times before reality sets in?
We get off the boat and people complain about no progress? I hate hiatuses as much as anyone but calling authors lazy because of them is just entitlement talking

Why are you explaining to me what I was explaining to Shandian with the same link I posted?
Just do not claim Miura drew that.
Besides, if we are getting another Golden Age reboot, we better see Wyatt this time, at least tone down his rape.
Best arc (Lost Children Arc) is about to get animated soon
I'm gutted with the hiatus but hey… at-least Miura managed to release 6 chapters within the last couple of months. A new volume shall ease the hiatus induced suffering.

Why would we get another Golden Age reboot? The entire point of the movies was to get through that material in a modern animation so they COULD do the other stuff.
ANd Wyald isn't that important in the scheme of things, mostly he helped set up that the Ecipse was coming. There was a reason both adaptations skipped him.
IT looks like they're going to go full-CG with this one, which hopefully goes better than the verson switching back and forth between CG and hand drawn. CG can look really good as an anime when it's used properly. I hope they can get the cell shading to work with it. Also, I'm glad as hell they're finally doing more of the story. After like 3 years or whatever passed since the first movie series, I was sure they'd given up on their promise to animate the entire series. I wonder how long this anime will go. You think they're gonna do seasons, or an OVA? Or more movies? I don't think the series did well enough as movies to merit more, really.

…..
It's easier said than done.Miura needed 13 years(or 14?) to reach Elf paradise. Now the group need to find the king,Casca needs to be treated, then journey back home, beginning of new resistance. In the meantime stories of all the God Hands and king Gaeseric/Skull Night need closure,it's been kept in dark for too long. And finally defeating Griffith in the end game itself should be a uphill tusk considering how Miura set up his Falconia. If you consider the amount of stories need to be told and the pace we are getting it,i find every reason to be worried that giving it a proper finishing may not be possible for Miura who is now almost 50.Even if we get 6 chapters a year for next 20 years, then we will have 120 chapters. For the level of epicness i expect from this manga, that's bare minimum to finish the story.
Guess he really can't do more than 6 chapters per year these days. With that "irregular" comment it sounds like 2016 will yield less. Guess we should all savor 2015 as a bountiful year.
As for the anime, at least we're finally getting something new from the Berserk saga. Apparently unknown if this is a continuation from the movies or a new, separate animation project. 3-D's not an issue if it's handled right, though after the creaky, bargain-bin CGI models used in the prior movies I am wary.
If this is almost entirely Lost Children, it'll be interesting so see how they cram all of that story-important content from the earlier chapters into a cohesive thread. Just hoping it's not all crammed into a 30 second flashback.

Yeah I used to be super excited when new chapter was published, I didn't really anticipated chapters and whenever chapter appeared I was very happy, this recent monthly streak has truly spoiled me for wanting more.

This is only my personal opinion but I think art wise recent movies were crap… Story, pacing, music, sound were all excellent but CGI charecters really put me off...hell I couldn't almost recognize Gut's and Griffith so massive was difference between manga and original anime style compared to movies.

Yeah Lost Children was one of my favorite Berserk arcs though it did have minimal character development for Guts but its really great take of whole 'Black swordsman' ordeal Guts was doing and I liked characters aswell… also Roshinu fight was just BOSS.
Muira, have you considered doing 18 page chapters per month instead of 20-22? Would that make a difference? A little bit here, a little bit there can add up overall.
Ehhh at least when Muira goes on hiatus, we KNOW he's going to come back and give us quality work. The effort clearly shows on each page.
It's not like he's derping around for several months (or heck, even an entire year or is it two years now?) and still floating around in purgatory like Togashi.
I feel really bad for Berserk fans. Stay strong.
Berserk fans are lucky compared to D.Gray-Man ones who only get at most 4 chapters per year.
If the Miura-idolmaster thing was just a meme, then how true is the idea that Togashi spends most of his time playing Dragon Quest? Where did this come from?
Even in that one picture of him, he was actually playing Mother 1! Not Dragon Quest!

Because he actually says it in his author notes int he Jump table of contents on multiple occasions. "I'm 200 hours into the new DQ game… I'm only level 4" and stuff like that.
Mind you that even the longest DQ game with insane ammounts and being full completionist shouldn't take more than 60-80 hours. (Well, DQ7 is actually super long and takes over 100 hours, but most of them are typically ~30 hours)

Chapter's out! I'm getting good oldschool fantasy vibes from this chapter. Nice to see some cool monster pummeling and magic. I'm liking where this is going.
If you look really close, you can see the spirit of Nic Cage among those souls!

You just had to ruin the last chapter we're gonna get for 6+ months by reminding everyone of the atrocity that is Ghost rider, didn't you?
shame..now we have to wait for 7-8 months for next chapter.

Actually I was making a Wicker Man reference

Ah, i skipped that one. Nic really likes movies where he's wrapped in flames doesn't he?
Spirit, what spirit? I only saw a long black-haired hot witch.
6 months? Here we go again.. time to speculate if they're all human children or elf kids.
At least it was cool action with well dressed witches and without gore raping demons.
Hahaha Morda got schooled…. So good.
I can't...wait for 6 months...though I should got used to it even though I am recent fan (2006)
How long until Morda joins the Harem?
So about that Berserk anime…
Is there any particular reason why Berserk anime has to be CGI?
16 chars of Dropped
Just read this chapter and boom…...........6 month hiatus...........damn, just as it was starting to pickup again after disappearing for almost 2 years!
Oh well, can't be helped I guess.....at least they finally reached elf island!!
Some ol' Vritannis action with Guts killing monsters and onlookers gaping in awe. Would be standard stuff if it didn't seem he last did that half a lifetime ago.
The wicker man was most likely chosen simply because the island itself is seemingly rooted in a very Celtic atmosphere. If Muira was inspired by a movie, I would hope that it would have been the old Christopher Lee original given how that one has more international renown, while the remake is just bad movie meme-fuel. Also could have been inspired by that whole "Burning Man" think on the west coast, but I doubt it.
How long until Morda joins the Harem?
I'd rather not think about it…
The skeleton fight from the teaser should be from the Black Swordsman arc. So we should be getting 2 arcs at least then. The Black Swordsman arc and the Lost Children arc.
Is there any particular reason why Berserk anime has to be CGI?
More cost effective to use the CGI models, especially if they are going to abuse 360 slow-mo camera shifting "killshots" like the trailer indicates. Maybe also to sell it for 3-D ticket prices.
Also going by that trailer (which was appropriately(?) cheesy) it seems to indicate some early Black Swordsman action. Though could mean it was simply another one of those "bad nights"
I was excited now I'm not. I guess it's not possible for Berserk to be properly presented in anime format. All adaptations have looked terrible. This barely looks better than the Ps2 game. @Mr.:

I don't see how you could start Berserk without the Black Swordsman arc. It'd be weird if they started with Lost Children.
Yeah I held sliver of hope we would get decent adaptation of Berserk which would be amazing but no… just another plastic CGI bullsh*t that only most desperate would want to watch... hell the original anime adaptation style would be amazing compared to this CGI slideshow.
I think if they ever did berserk in anime form(again) they would have to do it like the Hellsing OVAs, but other then the CGI being(probably) cost effective it is indeed cheesey as shit.
