But still, if they've had 24 years to find it by now, you'd think that, even if they just wandered around the later part of the New World for years, they'd eventually stumble across it. I'd guess it's underwater or hard to reach, and maybe one of the road poneglyphs tells you the secret to how you're actually supposed to get there.

24 years? Try hundreds of years, as was said in the chapter. Roger was the only one.

I disagree man, if it was in a normal ocean, with compasses and navigation techniques, then OK, but in the New World? It's hard to navigate using the NW log pose, without it, you die, its simple.

It depends on how it works if you need to do something at each location given in order to gain access then it will not work not way.

I figure, they'd want to find it before the pirates do and destroy it, in order to end the Golden Age of Piracy (since Roger's words, which inspired pirates to start looking for it, started the Golden Age).

It's a prediction but it would explain the grudge since crocoboy's dream was to be the PK but after losing he set his sights on the kingdom of alabasta and an ancient weapon which is still lofty but his goals went down by a lot. actually from an SBS on volume 78 we know he took the beating of a lifetime from whitebeard more than just "met" him,and it seems that's the thing that crushed his dream to be king of pirates and made him the disillusioned SOB he is today.
that the scar and the lack of an hand are the signs of said beating i think it can be resonably assumed,although it's not certain…we know for sure that at 30 years old (16 years ago in the current story) he already had the scar

i really enjoyed that scene when scanlation was first released in english, it wss special, i was like yeah, hope you can grasp the reason why you and big mom won't lose everything as yet, kaido has first dips, go tell "mama" that.

Even if they had all four locations, they would still need a way to navigate to reach it. Mapping the location is useless otherwise. What's the point of knowing it's NW of another island if you don't know how to go NW?
Hey, y'all!! I've been rereading old chapters again, and I have a question I hope someone can answer. Maybe it's been answered before but I couldn't find it in the long discussions around. At the beginning of the Punk Hazard arc, Luffy and the SH's arrive to the main entrance where they found a sign telling them it's forbidden to enter the island. The sign has three seals, one belonging to the marines, the other to the world government, and a third that I cannot identify. That's not a sign of any particular organisation, it's just a skull to signify the danger of the island. Just like the skull signs you see on certain substances you can buy to indicate they're deadly to drink. It's just that this one looks strange because it's the One Piece world and Oda likes to be creative.

Marine may be,but it was never said that WG do not know about it's location.Actually they should know about it more than anyone else.My bet is they simply couldn't manage to destroy whatever remained in Raftel and tried to keep common people away from it ever since….
As far the question why didn't they try to 'confiscate' One Piece,my guess is they simply don't trust anybody nowadays and won't even let Marine to help them..

This is an interesting idea though I'm not really sure I buy into it. I think I just like the idea of an excuse to make a quick seance into each of the Blues, even though it interrupts the flow of the quest.

1.Pekoms might know about it but he does not tell big mom since she might attack Zou and besides even if he can trust big mom people in her crew might be spies for the world govt,marines or another yonkou/pirate which would put zou in danger plus she cannot read them anyways.

It has not been said in the manga and Whitebeard would not do something like that unless crocodile killed one of his family members or something serious like that we only know that Crocodile lost to whitebeard like ace did but the reason crocodile hates whitebeard might be because whitebeard stole crocodiles old crew like he stole ace's..

about the doflamingo portion, that would not be so, since The clan of momonosuke was sought after by the beast pirates and doffy, she might have been a option B, but Doffy admitted interest in luffy mabe held back as a result of this, i mean he actually held onto the mera mera no mi. i doubt Doffy actually knows what transpired during the void, its not surprising that he knows stuff about the twenty families I am sure that history is in the current history books. Though they are after not the forgotten history, mabe not even Ancient weapons but the road ponegylps translation.

Pekoms also might have copied the poneglyph's text. Duke said that it's not necessary to take whole poneglyph.

I heard somewhere that Oda said that it would take about a year for Akainu to find Raftel if he wanted to. I know this is speaking more to the resources available to him, but i'm sure at this point the WG doesn't want to find it and is fine with the stagnant state the new world is in. Which is why they get so angry at these new kids shaking things up.

According to the interview between Oda and Yasutaka Nakata, if Akainu becomes the protagonist, he is so strong that he can put an end to ONE PIECE within a year. Akainu (maybe other admirals) seems like one of the strongest characters in ONE PIECE.

My interpretation was because Akainu is so strong with major resources and influence his obstacles would be overcome relatively easily ending the book in a heart beat.
So I didn't take it as a literal story time year but more as a literal year in our time for Akainu to blitz past his enemies and Oda would be done.
I Well about Brook and the Vinsmokes a question… I think it is pretty sure to say that Brook has some past with the Vinsmokes the way he reacted after hearing Sanji is the son of their leader.
But isn't it strange? Brook has been for decades locked at the Florian Triangle and still seems to know the well? Does that mean that the family and the army is far far older and doesn't have started with Sanji's dad?

Yeah I think this is really interesting. And to be honest. I know that Luffy said he will go alone but I actually would love if the other left out SHs would go as well. At least Brook as you mentioned.
Further more I still think Kinemon is a candidate of going as well. If the other will stay at Zou or move on to Wano and wait I think Raizou and Kanjuro to guide them.

Yeah, I also hope at least some of the Straw Hats will go. The only major problem I had with the Paramount War was the fact that all of the other main characters were missing. As you guys said, Brook would be an especially good candidate. Not only because he seems to know about the Vinsmokes, but also just because he really needs more screentime. He's already the newest member and then got put on a bus in Dressrosa, so I feel like he needs the development even more than Sanji. (Not that I'm not glad Sanji's gonna get some focus. I'm definitely looking forward to it.) I, too, think it'd be cool if some of the samurai also came along, so we could see more of their powers.
Something I'd like to see that I don't think will happen? Some of the Heart Pirates going. I like Law a lot, and I'd be happy if he came along, but seeing how much focus he got in the two previous arcs, I'd totally understand if he took a break from the story and didn't come along, and I'd be okay with that. But all of the other Heart Pirates are disproportionately underused compared to him, especially considering that they're part of this alliance too, and I'd love to see them get more development. Still, I can't really think of an excuse for most of them to go along. Maybe Bepo, since Luffy's gonna need some other Mink besides Pekoms to come with him so he can get back to Zou afterwards (since Pekoms is probably gonna stay with Big Mom), but even that's a pretty big stretch (no pun intended). I see Carrot or maybe Wanda as much more likely candidates for that. Hopefully they at least get some development when the whole alliance goes to Wano.

Well the recent chapter confirmed for me that the Straw Hats have accumulated quite a backlog of big opponents they have to face in a short amount of time.

Far on the horizon is BB. And I really want the remaining Whitebeard pirates to be part of taking down both Weevil and BB. So thank you Oda for involving Marco right now.

Yeah, now we know that. I think I made that post on Monday, though (the 14th was on Monday, right?), so that was before the newest chapter came out and revealed that stuff.
With so many people getting involved in the story, I think its going to get hard to see many 1v1..maybe 2-3 of the SHs will get them while the rest double team or group fight alongside their allies.
We can be at least sure that Robin won´t get a 1vs1 ;)
