@uniaka:
So, you guys think Law will give the 2 kings a new arm and a new leg or they just stay this way, like Kyros.
It would be better if it stayed that way. Shows the new world is no place to mess around in.

I think this is one of the best chapters in the Zou arc so far. Glad to see the Swirly Hats on scene. Jack is insanely brutal, which is a nice trait in an antagonist, when not overused, which Oda doesn't.
@.access:
If something can make Nekomamushi even more badass, it would be a pegleg.
peg-arm, Inurashi is the one who's missing a leg.
Never seen anyone have a peg-arm before though, so points on uniqueness!
@.access:
But I hope he doesn't butt in. If something can make Nekomamushi even more badass, it would be a pegleg.
But he lost an arm… Unless you want him to cut of his leg Kyros style just to put on a pegleg? .___.
Edit: ninja'ed by Rogue

He lost an arm, though.
Crucify and chill actually made me laugh. So out of place and unexpected.
Things are finally moving along. Sucks those guys lost their limbs. Doubt Chopper would be able to stitch them up after a day had passed.
EDIT: That's what you get when you have a phonecall in the middle of writing a post, lol.
This was a pretty good chapter.
I give more of my thoughts on it later after i re-read it a couple more times.
@The:
So that page where Jack was asking the question about where the samurai (Raizo) was and everyone thinking that there is no such person here, there was that mink that stood up suddenly but it didn't go anywhere. I think those who predicted Raizo was pretending to be a mink was right, and that was Raizo in disguise right there.
I was not aware anyone other than me predicted that Raizo was a mink.

If there's anything Naruto taught us - Henge no Jutsu.
So this confirms that the minks won't have a conflict with the Shs?
Sure, they hate the samurais and all, but caviper and dogstorm are in no condition to fight, even their underling aren't doing very good. And even pedro part of catviper knows SH helped them , so they won't turn hostile.
Likely the samurais will explain the situation and all happy again.
After Jack, Catviper and Dogstorm should have solved their problems, they know they must unite to defend Zou from future threats like Jack. Safety of Zou is above conflicts between 2 former friends.
Heck, if dogstorm and catviper would team up on jack, maybe they woul win, and both realized that, but the conflict between the 2 was the cause of it.
No wonder the subject of samurais is a touchy subject for them after all the crap that Jack and his men put them through.
Hmm, seems like Nami is awakening CoO afterall.
Remember back in the old days when people would rail on mangapanda but praise mangastream for being, at least comparably, well-done?
But then, after MP disappeared, MS's quality became shit over a period of time - I can hardly remember the last time Mangastream was any better than MP used to be - the good old days when they were co-released and we could really see the difference.
Oh yeah, it was mid/late November.
Relatedly, I think "crucify and chill" is fucking hilarious, but I do wonder if and how far it diverges from a literal translation.
Their track record really is the worst. These two chapters we've had without MP REALLY went down hill. Or, maybe, we just don't have the comparison to something worth hating, and - after all - haters gon' hate.
Mangas team had started doing that a few chapters before Mangapanda went under so to speak, actually.
@Rogues':

Oh, you are right. In Inuarashi a pegleg wouldn't fit as well, though. So, ok, I don't mind Law healing them anymore…
@Rogues':

… or do I?
I must say I am dissapointed that we will have to wait longer than I expected for Sanji getting some badass fight - I wanted to see short Sanji vs Jack where Sanji does good job and does not seem inferior in any way to his adversary.. But it seems that Sanji fight where he shows more of his arsenal is not around corner yet.. oh well..
Beside that Jack is one nasty bad guy and I like it. He is certainly alive and it would be crazy if next time we see him is for example as Kidd meets him by accident on sea and Jack gets crucified by Kidd(as I expect Kidd to be exceptionally strong Supernova, on par with Luffys Gear 4th). So instead of getting Strawhats vs Kaidos Calamity Jack we would get Kidd going at it.
Its been days since Kidds alliance fought Kaido and I hope that non of them died and they now target same man as SH and HP alliance - meaning Kaido.
So now I really want to see Jack getting crucified by Kidd.
@Buggy:
Good thing they have Law to put their limbs back together!
Assuming they still have the limbs with them.
It's been a week, already. They're probably rotten.
Man, too bad we don't have a doctor with body modification techniques to fix their missing hand and foot.:ninja:

They didn't necessarily fight.
@Helter:
They didn't necessarily fight.
Well for me it would make no sense for Kaido and Kidd alliance not to fight there and then..
The angry chef at the cover is called Carne btw.
With all those powerful beasts and warriors, I'm wondering how much powerful will be Kaido. And also the wano samurais, since they manage to keep their country free of conquerors, iirc.
Nice chapter; the cat and the dog makes a great couple and their rivalry strikes me as a nice plot knot to be solved in the arc.
Still waiting for Franky to give someone prosthetic limbs.
Well for me it would make no sense for Kaido and Kidd alliance not to fight there and then..
Just because two groups of pirates run into each other by accident doesn't mean they have to fight.
But of course, I can't know anything for sure. Maybe Kidd was like "Forget Shanks! Get him lads!"
I was surprised by the fact that the Heart Pirates has at least 14 members. We had only seen 5 prior to this chapter, right?
When you're 15 minutes into "Crucify and chill" and he gives you this look.
Seriously. I didn't even notice that on my first read through.
I was surprised by the fact that the Heart Pirates has at least 14 members. We had only seen 5 prior to this chapter, right?
Two years ago at Sabaody we saw more than 5 oh them. But we didn't see as many as 14 then.
@uniaka:
Jack is brutal, but it's not like he defeated the minks, the gaz weapon did.
so the gaz attack was not cesaer after all?
I wonder how Jack ary was able to fight against the minks 24/7.
But what i’m curious the most is indeed if there is anything special about the dukes for the world waiting for them.
Now the flashback is almost finished. Fingers crossed to learn something about the ninja next chapter

Dukes might be able to affect animals of all sorts or they are only ones available of using some device that might affect world.
That nacklace on Neko seems like interesting detail. Perhaps it is one of two keys to what is being kept secret in Whale Forest.
My boy Brook was pretty cool in this chapter
Man, too bad we don't have a doctor with body modification techniques to fix their missing hand and foot.:ninja:
Technically, he doesn't fix stuff. Just replaces it with animal parts… Oh wait
now that i remember,nekomamushi introduced himself as "the man waiting for the dawn of this world" or something like this last chapter..probably tied to whatever reason the two are so important
That MangaStream disclaimer. Hooo-boy, that disclaimer….
But, yeah, Jack is one sick bastard. Also, those bloody stumps are pretty grim for this series. Rarely is one piece that graphic, and on the heels of Law losing his arm the series appears to be gravitating toward more graphicly violent content (Marineford being the general exception otherwise). Comparitavely, Kyros losing his leg was far more painless and "clean"
Also, the Zou minks are indeed supreme badasses. It seems they were actually winning up until Jack decided to take a page out of Caesar's playbook.
It seems Jack may indeed return just to get back to torturing those poor guys for info they clearly don't know. Doubly so if he hears that the SHs are on the island.
Regarding Nekomamushi in particular, his declaration seems to indicate that he may be yet another temp. ally of the Straw Hats and tag along if they have to engage Jack off of Zou.
@Mr.:

Eh, really? Shanks, first chapter?
Those dead kids in Laws flashback are taking the cake forever for me.
Neat chapter btw.
is anyone else worried that future conflicts will seem a bit meh once the strawhats have taken care of kaido's crew?
I mean, if zoro takes out jack shiryu's going to look like nothing in comparison
Eh, really? Shanks, first chapter?

The series has certainly gotten more and more into darker subject matter.
"All I want is to crucify and chill?"
That would make all this torture pointless, though.
Well, it was the same issue back when Law lost his arm, you may say.
Pointless? No, it must've been tough mentally for the Dukes who fought for 5 days & nights to not be able to do anything while their comrades beside them are getting killed. I am sure they don't care about their limbs or even lost much strength due to it cuz they seem hella strong.
Maybe Law will put some opposite limbs on them? Dog limbs on the cat and vice versa loll it'll be funny cuz they hate each other.
Assuming they still have the limbs with them.
It's been a week, already. They're probably rotten.
Maybe but Im sure Law can find some other limbs instead if they are in fact rotten or not with them. Law to the rescue.
I know a lot of people will be shipping Law with the only female member of his crew.
TEN MINUTES INTO CRUCIFY AND CHILL AND HE GIVES YOU THIS LOOK
@Miss:
TEN MINUTES INTO CRUCIFY AND CHILL AND HE GIVES YOU THIS LOOK
Well, this certainly makes Sheephead look like a creeper.
I'm still fucking crying and dying… 'Crucify and Chill'.
GOOD BYE WORLD.
Jesus approves this translation. Crucify and chill. LMAO
I must say that 'crucify & chill' was so hilarious How does that work? Does he crucify people and go relax, or does he crucify people using his 'remote controller' while he relaxes on his comfy sofa? LOL!
@Katzztar:
Even though it is in the squirrel family, personally I'm gonna call her a chipmunk - she looks like a chipmunk, due to the stripes on the tail.
But that's just nitpicking, so I'm not gonna go wacky grammar-ninja on it and go posting "Don't call her that!"
Saying that a chipmunk isn't a squirrel is like saying a tiger isn't a cat. Its the same family of animals, just not the image most people think of when hearing squirrel or cat
While it is true that the stripes are a feature typical of chipmunks, I discovered, after doing a little reading, that there are squirrels, especially from the genus funambulus, also known as the 'three-striped palm squirrel', that carry the stripes.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_palm_squirrel
Tristan has the stripes on her tail in particular. There are many species and many genera in the squirrel family. It is unknown, at least to me, which one Oda uses as reference in his drawings.
@Kaizoku_Ou:
I know. He referred to Doflamingo as a 'flying man' because he was chasing the Straw Hats near Green Bit through the skies; however, I don't see how this supports the notion that Doflamingo was the one who injected fear of flying into him. It was never shown or even implied that Doflamingo caught Momo.
@KageKageKing:
Sorry about that, but forgetting Nami's first ever opponent's name seems kinda wrong. At least you know her DF, right?
Nah, don't worry about it. Well, I forgot about it and that's that. Maybe it was the passage of time that did it. Maybe it was lack of interest in her codename that did it. I am not sure.
Regarding her fruit, I know that she has a devil fruit that could make her body spiky. Maybe she has the Spike DF? Don't remember its name. @Katzztar:
Beyond the shapely figure (which reminds me more of Nami than Paula aka Ms.DD) and curly hair …. nope. Too much clothing! :ninja:
What about her face, her lips, her hair, and her bandana(chapter 160)?

@desa:
Was the comment on zombies a throwback to Moria?
It was a figurative way of comparing the reinforcements that were continuously invading their lands with zombies. Oda was using it to compare Jack's reinforcements with zombies to make the point that the reinforcements were practically endless just like when you stab or shoot a zombie in order to kill it but it rises from the dead, and you repeat that process(stab it or shoot it with a gun), but it rises again, so you find yourself trapped in a loop just as they found themselves trapped in one due to the continuous reinforcements that were coming for five days.
HOLD THE FUCK UP
I just noticed. That. There is a female member. Of the Heart Pirates.
This. Is important information. Somehow.
Aside from being a sadistic monster, I think Jack can't go back to Kaido empty handed, he HAS to deliver results and anything that derails/foils Kaido's plans have to be dealt with because if not Jack is done for. When you have an "errand boy" that is Jack's level you really do have to wonder how much stronger Luffy needs to get, if Jack can last more than five days and still have the balls to attack admirals there's no way gear fourth is going to bail Luffy out. He's a mammoth, nature's own rendition of what a "tank" should be.
(I'm scared for what the other two calamities are going to bring to the table, are they equally as menacing or stronger?)
Do keep in mind that Jack is already defeated.
That's correct isn't it?
