It was so awesome.
I agree about talk no jutsu as well, but it wasn't too noticeable for me nor did it spoil the episode anyhow.
The only thing I could complain about is the lack of Stan, really.
Aaand I am even more hyped now. This show is just amazing.

I think in these next episodes all the people behind the signs will assemble to end Bill.

We already got the pine tree (Dipper), question mark (Soos) and star (Gideon) join forces and they are going to free the shooting star (Mabel);and the six-fingered hand (Ford) and heart (Robby) are frozen as of now. This leaves the symbol on Stan's hat (Stan), the llama, the bag of ice and the glasses. The last three are a little bit weird, but I assume that maybe the bag of ice'll stand for Wendy, the llama for Pacifica and the glasses to McGucket maybe - though their symbols would be kinda weird choices for them.

And holy cow, that was an episode. I really liked all the nods to previous episodes (the Manotaur, gnomes, Rumble McSkirmish, Time Baby,…).

I'll agree with most of this. The only symbol I'm still curious about is the glasses.

One one hand, of all the glasses in the show they're most identical to Ford's - but it's pretty clear that he's represented by the six-fingered hand and not the glasses. The only other two important characters I can think of that has worn glasses at some point is Blendin and McGucket. I'd prefer the latter.

By the way, when Ford told Dipper there was another way to stop Bill, maybe he was referring to the wheel?

Speaking of Wheels, remember when they showed the page in Dreamscaperers? The Glasses are marked with exclamation marks.

even so mabel was lacking this ep, hope she's back the next!

Wendy put herself in god tier, she went all out in this episode and it was glorious.
Best part of the episode for me.

And oh yeah, I loved the creative craziness and the envelope-pushing horror imagery.

yeaaaaaah…like most folks already indicated, the Gideon thing is probably not the strongest part of the episode. Heck, for all the buildup it was kinda a letdown if anything at least compared to their last showdown. Ehhh, we'll see what Bill has in plan for Gideon (if anything).

Because to be honest, I thought it was perfectly fitting and well delivered this time.

Dipper gave a mature, heartfelt speech towards an angry little boy who needed to learn that
there's much bigger things going on around him that are much more important than his selfish desires.

He wasn't even converted straight away, he wavered for a moment (because even he could tell that Dipper was making some sense) and looked at the newspaper with neutral eyes,
and saw Mabel's unhappy face, probably for the first time (since he wasn't looking at her with 'those' kinda eyes).

And besides, I'm sure Gideon isn't fully turned around. He's probably still a brat.
He just realizes what's more important to focus on right now.

I think the problem is that we had that cliff hanger cold ending with Gideon making a deal with Bill. And then Gideon wasn't even part of the free-bill plan, it was Blendin. I believe we thought, Gideon was going to be the new Bill puppet. But really, what was the deal they made? If Bill is freed, he'll give Gideon Mabel and let Gideon rule over a small section of Gravity Falls… Why? What did Bill get out of the deal. Its all in Gideon's favor, which isn't the type of deals Bill makes. Gideon was freed, Gideon got his girl... kinda, and had an army to command over. With Bill doing all the work.

So, I for one, really wanted Gideon to be a bigger part of the showdown and the release of Bill. The story was leading towards that the entire time.

For once, a series that ends instead of dragging on. As much as I'd love to see it continue, I think Hirsch's decision is the best one.

Plus, it'll be fun to see what he does next!

I'm kinda glad they publicly announced it so that my friends who were in denial and calling me a liar can finally eat their words. Again, Alex and the team have moved on to different projects since before June/July. So I don't think last minute edits, I believe the delay in episodes is because Disney is releasing more merchandise in 2016. This is a way to keep the show relevant til things like the #3 Journal is on store shelves.

No, that's just how Disney schedules its shows; Phineas and Ferb started back in 2007 with the fourth and last season lasting from 2012 until earlier this month. It wasn't even a production issue; there was an eight month gap between the two segments of the same episode.

And that was their cashcow franchise.

If you watch Rebel Taxi's Pizza Party Podcast, I was on there talking about how the show was done in production. So it might've been me again haha. But I did mention it being out of production in October, but I think people quickly skipped my post.

Alex hinted that if Disney wanted to, they can easily make more Gravity Falls without him. This might end up being a Ben 10 situation where the creator moves on to new projects but the studio keeps making spin-off.s WHo knows. Though currently there is nothing in production besides the last line of merch.

In his original AMA he specify that he saw the show going on for at least 3 seasons. Most fans speculated that mean a season per month of summer. Basically what I heard was that was his plan but the stress of the show weighed on him and he wanted to pull out sooner. Which is smart.

Oh god yes! This was a combination of an Amazing episode and a rage inducing one (Because it ended)

Spoiler'd because spoilers.

! I'm glad the rift between Dipper and Mabel is resolved. It was nice that they had an arc, but I'm glad we get to go into the finale without this, so they can focus on wrapping EVERYTHING else up. It's gonna be huge, which is obviously why we get a double stuffed episode.
Now that Dipper has saved Mabel from the ~~Black Mercy~~ Fantasy Bubble, and we've met back up with Grunkle Stan who is clearly leader of the resistance, it's finally time for the final showdown with Bill!
! Also, Judge Kitty Kitty Meow Meow Face-Shwartstein was amazing! It wasn't him coming back to the Daily Show, but I'll take all the Jon Stewart I can get.

just caught up, This shows near perfect, Dippers one of the most relatable leads I've seen in a show, animated or not.
i just really wished i had found it a couple months later and missed this final wait, (for those who have watched from the start and endured the full brunt of disney scheduling, i feel for you).
