Wait. Lille is an Arrancar?
-
ugh, I can already tell that sharpshooter is the lamest type of bleach villain, the smugness
Hopefully the Miracle Man can be fun, like Mask de Masculine, or another creepy one like Pernida (but seems unlikely at this point) -
Nice to see more about Kyoraku's power and character. "Children's game"indeed, in sense that children can be pretty cruel and without remorse. I remember I used to collect butterflies and stake them in matchstick boxes in name of "science" when I was kid.
-
I thought we were done with arrancar. Bach was just using them as fodder in the beginning. Also I believe the whole hollow's are poison to quincy's has been forgotten. Classic Kubo. Consistantly inconsistan.
This fight is going to become one of those: "I hit you. You're dead" "Nuh uh. You missed."
I don't mind the concept of making children's games lethal, but if it keeps going like this I swear it's stupid.

Honestly you people who read MP are a riot. Chapter was pretty boring with BS explanations but I think it went over well when Shunsui decided to formally introduce himself.

Well I got a thing or two catching my attention in the chapter so I disagree.

You mean like Nanao? Or Shunsui's powers?
-
You mean like Nanao? Or Shunsui's powers?
One thing that clicked for me is that I didn't have opinion about Shunsui's power so I started to have a better idea. Another is that although I know that BLeach characters don't have intentional depth in them but more like Kubo leaves it up to reader to come up with his own interpretations… Well, I came up with my interpretation that he's revealing his powers in order to make to take control over course of fight by making enemy to play by his rules.
-
"I know everything about your sword, and how its released state grants you the ability to play children's games against your enemy"
"Except for how those children's games work and what their rules are, I did not research that"

ThorMiracle Man better prove to be more interesting….
The guys meant to take on the Royal Guard and win, with a power boost still end up losing to the very people that got their asses handed to them by the regular run of the mill SR. -
Kyoraku, just use your bankai already and let us get on to the next contest of oneupsmanship.
-
On one hand, it's standard Kubo confusing explanations and back and forth fake-out attacks.
On the other, it's Kyoraku, who is automatically more fun to watch than your standard Bleach character. We'll see how this goes…..
-
It's essentially lame Big Boss against lame The End/Quiet
-
Shunsui is gonna troll this guy epically, when he uses his bankai…..
-
"I know all about your powers.
Besides how the kid's games work.
Or your trump card, your bankai.
Okay, maybe I went into this without thinking too hard."
-
How did the Vandereich get intell on the past fights anyway?
and seriously, this guy will have no way of countering Shunsui's bankai when/if he releases it, unless he knows of one time a lonnnnnnng time ago he used it, in which case I call foul.
-
Turning children's games into reality really doesn't seem to fit the tone of the other Zanpakuto powers.
sigh Kubo, can you please try to end this fight quickly?
-
BOSS GET DOWN
The enemy sniper…
-
The general commander of the Gotei 13 Ladies ans Gentlemen.
-
sigh Kubo, can you please try to end this fight quickly?
Sorry, but "Kubo" and "quickly" don't go together unless the words "is trying my patience" connects them.
-
That was the most typical Bleach chapter I've read in a while. I really want to like Kyoraku too, but all of his fights are boring as shit.
-
Perhaps this is what leads to Yu-Gi-Oh. The fate of the world relies on who can win a children's game, but then they decide regular games are too much work, so they make a children's card game instead to decide the fate of the world.
Ok chapter, not as entertaining as the last bunch. I like Shunsui, but he got paired with another boring villain, so it doesn't work that well.
-
While I don't mind about the explanations, why introduce the concept of Reikaku now? Why not before? It should have been introduced back in Aizen's arc whose power is all about messing with someone else's perception.
-
Why do the characters in Bleach needs to tell the enemy there abilities?

As for the reliability of strength, I try to not sweat it, I'm forgiving towards Bleach when it comes to logical inconsistencies and all that, entertaining fights are good enough these days
and that's why I'm already annoyed by Mister Sharpshooter, he raises all my red flags for the worst kind of villain that Bleach can provide, the painfully cool and smug ones
At least Aizen was so ridiculously powerful that it somehow became funny, but this is just blergh -

Btw, someone had mentioned yu-gi-oh earlier, and my thoughts were just this is going to become one of those situations where both characters have planned for every contingency.–- Update From New Post Merge ---

Oh like kubo hasn't done that very thing before. It's as bad as him taking things that weren't foreshadowed and making it foreshadowed.
-

Btw, someone had mentioned yu-gi-oh earlier, and my thoughts were just this is going to become one of those situations where both characters have planned for every contingency.Maybe Kubo will get really nostalgic and do the whole bankai - arrancar final form thing (except reishi mode or whatever it is with the quincy), since we don't know the bankai of the kimono and conical hat man. It's been a while, right?
Last time was with Renji's new bankai, but I'm not sure. -
Please make someone open those 2 pods.
-

Ishida could have told them what happened. Or maybe Harribel.

Last time was with Renji's new bankai, but I'm not sure.Kimono and cone-hat guy? Not sure who they are. But we also have seen Rukia's bankai finally (some hundred chapters ago). There's still ichigo's new bankai as well. Can't figure out why kubo is keeping that a secret?
-
Kimono is probably Shunsui, but conical hat man? Beats me…
Urahara? Hat checks, conical failed, man checks... 2/3

I actually just meant Shunsui with Kimono and conical hat guy, that's how I remembered his hat, but looking at it it's more flat I guess
I'm really, really bad with remembering japanese names embarrassedThere's still ichigo's new bankai as well. Can't figure out why kubo is keeping that a secret?
Maybe because it won't be a glorified energy slash anymore, something creative?
Although I really doubt it -

I'm really, really bad with remembering japanese names embarrassedOh right, that makes sense. Shunsui's hat is cone shaped, technically.
If you refered to him as chest hair guy, I'm sure everyone would have known. :ninja:
-
Ishida could have told them what happened. Or maybe Harribel.
Ishida didn't see the Fake Karakura fights, so maaybe Harribel? I can't remember if she "died" before Shunsui defeated Stark. At any rate, she was too busy blocking Hitsugaya/Lisa/Hiyori to look over on what Shunsui was doing.
-
Why do the characters in Bleach needs to tell the enemy there abilities?
In Shunsui´s defence, I vaguely recall him saying in the Stark fight that he had to explain the games to his opponent in order for the power to work. After all, a game is only a game if every party knows the rules.

Yeah, I recall him saying something like that as well.
But, there was no need to explain that crap with Reiatsu something something as well.
I'm a little curious as to what Kubo will do with Lile's ability. How can he make it versatile? It just seems so straightforward and one-dimensional.
! I'm so sorry, but cracking puns is about the only fun I get out of reading Bleach.
-
So this battle will also last 8-10 chapters?
Seeing Shunsui faring well vs Barro makes me wonder again what was the point of killing Unohana when it looks like she couldve curbstomped Barro.
-

But he doesn't actually have to explain what game his zanpakto is currently playing before attacking. Basically, if he could land a lethal strike in his first turn, he could defeat his enemy without having to explain anything. Of course he had to always fail (whether by design or bound by the rules) and have to explain the game afterwards.

A lethal first strike? Surely you jest. This is Bleach we're talking about.

Ishida could have just been told about the fights later on. I honestly don't even remember what he was doing at that time, thinking about it.
Speaking of Hitsugaya, it might also be possible they somehow extracted that information from him while he was zombiefied. Even if he did not observe them fighting, I don't think the chapter clearly says that's where they got their information from, and he surely knows at least some stuff about the fighting style of his colleagues.
Another possibility might be that left arm of the Soul King, assuming he was able to perceive stuff when hanging around inside Ukitake. Or, Kubo being Kubo, Yhwachs ability can also "see" stuff like that somehow.Either way, I think there's a couple of plausible ways for them to acquire information about the Gotei 13, with the most likely one probably being Ishida.
-

Technically, it should be possible unless the zanpakto's rule covers that part :ninja:
Of course it has to be worfed down to create an even fight. Also, was there a mistranslation or Kyoraku really referred the sniper guy as "arrancar"?
-
Seems to be the case that he's an arrancar. Guess that's why the equivalent kid's game he brought up had a spanish name to it
-

Na, that was probably Kubo being Kubo and making a mistake, just like when he wrote "You being the son of a Quincy and…" instead "You being the son of a human and...".
- Arrancars are Hollows. Supposedly, they aren´t born and raised.
Also, how the hell are kid hollows supposed to find a wall in the friggin desert that is Hueco Mundo.

To be honest I´m not sure.
Kubo kind of made the whole thing a huge void of rules when Shunsui stated that the rules were according to the sword´s mood or some crap like that. The only time it was used was against Stark and it was a huge mess. - Arrancars are Hollows. Supposedly, they aren´t born and raised.

It's like building sandcastles. Or you use a sand dune. or a tree or something. Anyway I always assume that if it's Span-ish that it's hollow related regardless of how little sense it makes

Or a white pillar… plenty of those around.
And yeah, the name is spanish. "Escondite" is something like "Hide" or "Hide yourself". -
No fun and games in Quincy Deutschland

The only time it was used was against Stark and it was a huge mess.Okay that's something I was thinking about a couple of weeks ago. Were bleach in better hands: hollows would not be born from human souls, or at least the majority wouldn't. I'm not sure of the finer details yet, something along the lines of creatures born from excessive spirit energy. They would gather in groups and form villages around a stronger hollow. Humans can become hollows if a hollow consumes all their spirit energy. The menos class is not created by smashing dozens of hollows together, but rather are the evolution of hollows. Gillians would be like the chrysalis stage, and adjuchas are the final version. Vasto lorde class hollows would be a mutation of adjuchas that has a slim chance of happening.

Purple, why do you hate his majesty? Bazz lived in a castle, so he was clearly aristocratic scum. He had it coming.

Something like that would make more sense.
The Hollow system is just not sustainable at all. They don´t reproduce, most of them are cleanse before even becoming holows, the ones that turn will most likely be slayed by the local shinigami and even if they somehow find a way to get to Hueco Mundo, they will get hunted by stronger hollows.
Seriously, it sucks. The whole system is stacked against you. I could actually start rooting for these guys. The only problem with that idea is where does the excessive energy comes from. Assuming that´s spirit energy, the smashing majority of humans couldn´t probabky produce that excess.
