Not feeling like reading back, but what was the deal with Bartolomeo's briefcase he had on him? Was that to keep the Mera Mera no Mi safe if he had won it?

I thought the same. But maybe he have another gift for Luffy. Or just he is carrying his autograph notebook.

Is there a break this week? My friend keeps saying there is but I didn't see any information about it anywhere.

No one actually knows, only rumors
Brook can't die so what would happen to him if he fell into the ocean and no-one was there to help him?
Would he be forever stuck sitting at the bottom of the Ocean never being able to get up and walk to shore?

Pretty sure he would drown. His lungs function even if he's only bones(yohoho).

Not sure if he breathes, but he is subject to decomposition and helpless under the water so he'd probably become a snack for something until his physical body was destroyed. Without an anchor his soul-form would drift on over to the other side.
Unlike Rebecca's, my nose doesn't run when I cry tears of joy. Does it mean that I don't know true happiness yet ?

You're still reading about Rebecca. I think that answers the question.
How tall are Lucci in his hybrid form and Moriah in his Shadow Asgard form ?
One last thing, who is the tallest "human" in One Piece.
Other than for storyboard purposes.
Do you think there's a reason why Akainu sent Fujitora, a marine serving as admiral for only 2 years over Kizaru who has been serving over a much longer period (I presume) to take care of Law and Luffy?
where do people & things go, when they are sucked in by BB's darkness?

Lucci looked to have been around the size of someone like Jinbei/Teach/Doflamingo. About 10 + feet tall. And SA Moriah looked giant-sized.
As for the tallest human thus far, I'd say Whitebeard.

Into a infinite void of darkness with immensely high gravitational pressure.

It's possible that there are more important/threatening things going on in the World that he might already be assigned too.

Akainu sent Fujitora because Oda wanted to showcase a new Admiral.

Possibly because at the start of Dressrosa Fuji seemed only instructed to watch and assess. Kizaru is too well known and not subtle enough for that to have worked.

Well Oda obviously wanted to show off one of the new admirals.
Story-wise, if you're sending an admiral into a tense situation involving two warlords and the son of the most wanted man on the planet, with a backdrop of a WG affiliated island…you don't send Borsalino.
Although even Borsalino would be impressed with the level of devastation in Dressrosa at the moment.
Since Senor Pink brushes his teeth with a shoe brush, does that mean he shines his shoes with a toothbrush?

It's the only logical explanation.
Does anyone here think there is potential to have a focused ship battle at some point in the series, besides just the possibility of the small skirmish with Big Mom crew and the Sunny?
I was thinking about the part in Arlong Park where the fishmen just go and destroy a ship completely, and thought that there has to be a reason that fishmen don't rule the seas. They could just break every ship and allow all devil fruit users to drown. From there I got some ideas about how a ship battle could go down at some point.
We know Marine ships have sea stone at the bottom on their boats to keep Sea Kings away from the vessel. Perhaps the better vessels might be completely reinforced with sea stone, or made of tougher material to allow to keep floating up. A sturdier boat would require more force to break apart, so a fishman can't just break it apart or Mihawk just slash it down with ease.
The other thought which could be interesting is the use of Haki. We know that weapons can be imbued with haki, why not ships. Imagine a battle where the Sunny is under attack and they are trying to not get sunk. A cannon ball could easily blow the plain wood, but perhaps Luffy or someone else with CoA imbues the targeted part to protect it. Someone using an actual attack would require a better defense, so maybe Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji would combine their efforts to make a stronger defense. Add in them having to fight people on their ship while defending incoming attacks on the ship, you could have an interesting conflict.
If the naval battle had to deal with fleet versus fleet, then there is even more potential there. Someone would have to strategize on how to take out the various boats. I would surely think that a manga about pirates would eventually have an all out naval battle. This could be just part of the final war against the WG, where they have to get past the navy fleet to get to the Marine HQ. Add in Pluton as a naval weapon, we have everything we need for such a battle.

Plus…the last time Borsalino got dispatched to send Luffy to hell, he failed.
Akainu probably saw it as "Well you messed up two years ago. Time to let the new guy have a shot at this kid."

They'd have to figure out some way to strengthen the hulls. Marines have it easy with kairoseki coating. Pirates would at least need something on an even keel so Luffy's fleet wouldn't just be torn to shreds with cannon shot. Until then, the most of Sunny Go baring its teeth we're gonna see is Coup de Burst over and over to run away from the scary Marine ships along with the occasional Gaon Cannon sprinkled in here and there.

I thought it wasn't every ship but the big battleship-sized ships of Vice-Admirals or such (like ones sent to answer Buster Calls) and not ones of lower ranks, like Hina & Smoker ships pre-timeskip.
After all it would be expensive to coat every single ship. Plus Usopp managed to sink (acccientally) two ships in Hina's fleet as they fled Alabasra.
Those smaller ships probably won't play any bigger role at this point, though.

Not only did Akainu also failed but the mission was about Dofla rather than Luffy/Law. Which reminds me, Kizaru is probably too much of an airhead to take care of investigation(what Fujitora was doing in Dressrosa).
Do you think in later arcs, some vice admirals will redeem themselves?
@LordEnel:

Aside from Smoker, I doubt it.
The rank of vice admiral really has become simply a platform for hyping characters who kick the snot out of them.
We might still see the occasional positive moment, like Onigumo handcuffing Marco, but on the whole, no.

In the last SBS there appears to be 2 new vice admiral who were contenders for the admiral position.
i really hope they show up.

The Pink Rabbit and Brown Boar fellows? Sorry, but I believe they were joke characters.
It's interesting how Smoker was portrayed at Punk Hazard. I know people are quick to put him down because he lost 3 times within that arc but there are certainly some good explanations why. Still though it seems like he'd be no match for Luffy at all, I really wonder what type of antagonistic role he'll play in the future? We've been more or less promised that the 2 would have a real fight since Logue Town and I expect to see that promise fulfilled in a very meaningful way.

Yeah, and it was actually readers who thought about those names.
Reading recently how Sanji was an older style name meaning 3rd child. Has Oda ever given any other reasons why he chose it or do you reckon there are actually some older siblings out there somewhere?

Third of monster trio
Has the reason to why Blackbeard was rampaging at the Drum Kingdom even been told?
Also a weird question.
Has Oda ever answered this kind of a question in an SBS "Would you rather be a pirate or a marine?"
Thank you in advance!
Propably he wanted to test his new devil fruit?
Or it has some conneection with Doc Q?
I'd like to add another question related to the drum one, why was he also at Yuba? (Alabasta)
Where can I take a look at the alternate covers offered in the log book ?

Unless I am forgetting something, that's just filler. Blackbeard was never at Alabasta.

Does a pirate needs a reason to make an assault?

Yeah, that was part of the anime's filler story for keeping Ace in Alabasta longer.
I didn't know about that since I never read the alabasta arc o.o at what point did he leave then?

He leaves the moment he burns the Baroque Works' ships.
Actually, he burns them on his way after he has already left Luffy (given him the Vivre Card).
Can Green Bull serve as Kaido's right hand? Would be insane.
