Oh I figured it was clear that I was talking about his designs now as those are lazy and idealess attempts to make more money. I loved Itachi and Kisame back in the day. Or Haku and Zabuza to name another two villains with simple designs but a certain distinctiveness nonetheless.
Kishi can be creative if he wants to but it's been literally years since we last saw him come up with something good. Honestly? I doubt that side of him will ever return.
I was a big fan of Clamkage and some of the seven swordsmen of the mist, but most everything else in the war was trashboat.

I really don't get what they are thinking.
Usually movies follow the anime, never being based on things that weren't animated yet and are still manga exclusive, but in Naruto they already said fuck it to the anime. We already got one movie spoiling the hell out of the anime and we are about to get a second one that just makes that even more obvious. Right now the anime is just something that not even the official sources care about anymore and is just lingering there and Pierrot seems to make everything worse by wasting every chance of riding the hype train.EDIT: And now even the games are already giving the finger to the manga and already including Kaguya, Sarada and Boruto.

This was pointless and stupid and yet again we have the narrative making more excuses for Sasuke's cruddy behavior. Its like Kishimoto wants everyone to brush off his jerkish behavior and buttkiss him at every turn. But this last chapter demonstrated that he is just trying to cover up for a terrible marriage that has no real affection and a father who is always absent. Even worse is that now Sarada is suckered into singing Sasuke's praises and forgetting what a dead beat dad he is.

Chocho is the worst character ever. Naruto being all badass is something I liked. Kabuto… It was funny and pathetic. The whole Sarada thing bei g a stupid mistake was so Kishi. Last page was heart warming tho.

Excellent, we now have a shitload of Uchiha powder kegs running around, cared for by a creepy scientist who teamed up with enemy number one, raised an army of zombies, and yet somehow escaped justice. The chances of the apocalypse occurring in the next twenty years has increased approximately a hundred times. The whole clan is like a patch of weeds that grows back every time you think you've killed them. At least Salad's looking to be well adjusted.

I really can't see sasuke, orochimaru and kabuto being free without anything done for their crimes. It's like if Doflamingo said the "yea sorry", and everyone forgave him and its all good for him after that

You know, despite the problems coming from the main series, and the flaws of this mini-series, I liked it overall. I got more enjoyment out of the various moments of these 10 chapters than I did with the last 3-4 years of the main series. I liked the interaction between Naruto and the kids, Sarada was an overall enjoyable character. While she need to get saved, Sakura was enjoyable overall. The last little bit with Sarada and her parents was nice overall. Yes, I can't forget the crap Sasuke did, but I was happy for Sarada.
I won't go into detail into the different problems this little series had. I'll enjoy it for what it was.

I thought Itachi said that if he ever got out of the trance, he would be a changed person forever. Therefore he became Mother Theresa instead of being little Orochimaru.

But a whole kindergarten of Sharingan users? No way that could backfire some day. War of the clones or something? Good thing they all have the same Sharingan so it can't be exploited in multiple ways.
Still, that weapon controlling ability… Ten Ten as the next villain with implants? That panel where she was complaining how business was going bad in peace time is an obvious foreshadowing.

Actually, if there's one thing we've learned from Naruto, it's that you should keep as many DNA samples from as many people as you can. You never know when you may need to resurrect someone, inject an inherited trait into yourself, or otherwise exploit somebody's genes to your advantage.

^It seems that one of the points in this gaiden was to show Orochimaru's group since Kishimoto forgot them in 700 when the other characters were shown.
Btw, was there another kid in the orphanage who was Kabuto's friend? Somehow I am under the impression the guy besides him is supposed to be someone we knew from Kabuto's flashback.

All things considered, I liked the spin-off. Was it good as a stand-alone series? Definitely not. But compared to the drag that was the last 3 years of Naruto and the never-ending war, I welcome it. There's also the fact that Salad, which by all means should've been a terror from the deepest part of Naruto Hell considering her genes, was completely alright and even enjoyable at points.
It still had it's WTF moments (never forget the Bento) but it provided better closure to the series.
