@Thegreato:
Forgive me if I sound a little judgmental, but did we read the same chapter?
Just what on earth does it take to please half of you people?!
I for one thought it was amazing!
Before I say anything else, I thought the chapter was amazing. Doflamingo coming full circle with his attacks as that of a flamingo's (besides shoe stomps), short but sweet excellent atypical dialogue between Luffy and Doflamingo during the heat-up to the final attack, Rayleigh flashback, really cool D info bomb, Parasite being used against Luffy but resisted, pretty flawless presentation.
But it's what you would expect. A mix of years and years and years of hype and mystery building up behind Doflamingo. And generally, Fishman Island, and to a lesser extent Punk Hazard, impacted the series' expectations, even to where a highly respected member of the community was wondering if there was something fatally wrong. Even after those blows though, expectations for the series are still high, because even within the series it has many highly accoladed moments of awe that set a precedent. Not to mention, people also read other things they compare the series with. Sometimes they'll include the way another series does things into the way they think One Piece should do things to be more interesting/better and it can cause disappointments.
And the fight itself wasn't perfect, personally I'm a dialogue whore so I wanted more of what we saw near the end of the chapter, just on a lower level.
