Oh boy here we go with the pieces of paper anyone can print out
The Nintendo Thread
-
-
Iwata said he would be absent so…
-
Oh yes, time for the endless fake leaks. Also didn't Iwata said that he won't be in the digital event? And there's no way that Tetsuya Takahashi is going to be in the event
-
Iwata said he would be absent so…
prerecorded video / feed from Japan?
Although I'm not buying the leak either….
-
What I have read is that Iwata wouldn't be present at E3 physically and since the digital event is pre-recorded thing there is no reason we couldn't see him in that at the very least.
-
Dunno if they'd go with Bill Trinen doing anything other than Nintendo World Championships either. Could happen but eh
-
Also didn't Bill got fired?:ninja:
-
Gamefreak never announced a game on E3 they dont seem to care that much about it, so I have an hard time beleive Pokemon Z will be revealed there, unless its revealed in same month on CoroCoro.
-
Oh yeah, Nintendo said they were only gonna show 2015 games right?
-
Also didn't Bill got fired?:ninja:
Please let the final round of the Nintendo World Championships be this:
[hide]
-smoke fills the room, lights dim
-everyone is confused
-Reggie, Miyamoto, and Sakurai are there, they're also puzzled
-crowd clears
-light shines on Bill Trinnen, with a pair of sunglasses
-Fred Savage is standing next to him
-Bill exhales and slowly takes his sunglasses off
-"Hey, Reggie. Bring that Tanner kid out."
-Reggie steps to the side as a confused Tanner steps forward.
"What's this all about, Bill?"
-Fred crosses his arms and smirks
"I've come for my job back."
-Bill snaps his fingers as the spotlight moves to a Wii U stand with Smash
-"No items. Fox only. Final destination. ALL OR NOTHING."
-paused silence
-Reggie: "uh okay, but what is Fred Savage doing here?"
-"oh, I just came to watch."*
-Savage gives a goofy smile and a thumbs up
-"he's the Wizard."[/hide] -
!

I'm 100% sure this is real. In typical Nintendo fashion, not only did they forget how to spell "Woolly", but they also forgot that SMT x FE already has a name. In addition Fire Emblem Next fits perfectly in their naming scheme, like New Super Mario Bros or Yoshi's New Island.
@KageKageKing:Oh yeah, Nintendo said they were only gonna show 2015 games right?
I don't think so. For the behind closed doors thing there will definitely 2016 games, so I'd say there'll be some in the Digital Event.

An alleged leak of the list of games from Nintendo's E3 digital event.
Ccccccaaaaaaaaaaaaalling BS on this.
It reeks of "Too good to be true".
A lot of the stuff on there is a lock, Yoshi's Wooly World, Mario Marker, Xenoblade Chronicles X, SMT x Fire Emblem, etc are all getting shown off here. But some of this stuff is wonky. Some are decently safe bets, while some are plausible but have varying degrees of shakiness. I'd say it looks like this:
Safe Bets:
Starfox U being talked about
New Animal Crossing
Smash DLC being talked aboutPlausible but shaky:
Starfox U getting a title.
New Metroid TitlePlausible but extremely unlikely:
Pokemon Z
New F-Zero
New Rythm Heaven(Everything not mentioned here is a virtual lock)
The Iwata thing isn't a problem when it could easily be A: He prerecorded this but won't physically be AT E3
B: This was drafted before Iwata dropped out of E3.So I'm not immediately discounting it for that reason, but everything else just screams "I'll believe it when I see it"
-
New rhythm heaven is so unlikely it's coming out in Japan this year :ninja:
-
We already have a new F-Zero tho, it's called Mario Kart 8.
-

Derp.
Should have explained. The part I was calling unlikely was the info it had about it. It says release date is 2016 but the official announcement we already have said 2015. Seems like a contradiction. Could have been delayed tho I guess, so my mistake. -

Yeah, I'm at work now so my mind is kinda scattered.
I'm herping and derping all over the place here, ignore me.
-
Those types of leaks have never been true, and I seriously doubt any actual company has ever made a list of games they're bringing to e3 like that. It's so bullshit and done so often that I don't know why people still bother with those, when leaks with no "evidence" have been credible more often
-
Why would Nintendo even make a broadcasting schedule when the digital event is purely an online thing rofl
-
He surely is something, he's also voiced by Daisuke Ono apparently
-
Wow that is a deep v-neck
-

They did s\ay it was 2015 only but i reckon that it will only be the gamnes you can play + digital event. Behind close doors i fully expect a fire emblem press event with If and SMTxFE and another one with other 2016 games. Mainly their plans for the zelda and metroid 25th anniversary.
-

Neat-o, Frederick's seiyuu (also Koizumi of Haruhi fame)
It makes me wonder how many prolific voice actors this game will have, in both the Japanese and English versions. Awakening had superb voice acting, and contained a lot of anime-famous names (Laura Bailey, Stephanie Sheh, Travis Willangham, Yuri Lowental, etc.)
-
Hmm I read on IGN that Fire Emblem If will still have staves as limited-use. Warp shenanigans may not be out of the picture yet.
Personally I hope it means the return of staffholes and the Restore staff.
-

Too bad most of that superb voice acting was relegated to the brief cutscenes and one liners.
-

Yeah, it wasn't like Uprising where every piece of dialogue was actually spoken.
For the most part, the one-liners and outbursts matched the tones of support conversations, but then you get Chrom shouting "I WILL NOT FAIL!" with a calm piece of dialogue lol
-
Those amiibos actually look pretty good. Wonder if they're just bullshots or they're getting better. All the ones I see in the store look pretty shitty especially being shelved next to the Skylander and Disney ones.

Each wave has been progressively getting better. For example the Super Mario line is 100% better than the Smash Bros Wave 1 line, in terms of production quality. But yea there's a distinct increase of quality between waves, excluding Wave 1 and 2.
-
That's true. Even some of the re-released wave 1 amiibos have a quality increase like villager and marth
-
The Splatoon amiibo also seem to look pretty quality when compared to the Smash Bros line. Looking forward to the Yarn Yoshies, which are DEFINITELY going to be the most adorable ones of all.
-
@Cyan:
The guy on the right is now the greatest Fire Emblem character ever.
Mr. Cheesy Grin is named "Brave Hero." Or maybe that's his job class.
He surely is something, he's also voiced by Daisuke Ono apparentlyI approve! thumbs up
"Suzukaze." "Suzu" means "bell" (a kind of little bell, to be precise), and "kaze" means wind. Interesting name.
-

Job Class Hero to be precise.
-
Okay, I have to vent.
Target is slowly becoming one of my least preferred stores at this rate. They pulled this same "one day only buy, then no restocking ever" with Rosalina almost three months ago. I find it especially egregious since they have the nerve to have exclusivity over TWO distinct amiibo!
But I do realize it is a reflection of Nintendo's low supply here in the States, but still
Why does the average person never get the chance to even see one of these rare amiibo in stores? I'm debating whether or not I should go to Target to even bother, but it's miles away from the store where I preordered Splatoon, and I might not even get anything.
sigh
-
Limit of two characters? Easy, Robin and Jigglypuff. Pac-Man is relatively easy to get online so I bet that one there will be lots to find everywhere like sonic and mega man. Lucina is less likely to survive, but I care more for Robin.
The rest I don't care about. My inkling girl ships from wal-mart the week after and I already got splatoon on the eShop. -
If I somehow pull this off, I want Robin and Lucina. No regrets.
-
Robin and Lucina would be my choices. To bad i live in the uk where we don't even see these kind of Amiibos outside of day one or even outside of online

Uh, who am I looking at? Looks like a grown Sothe.

I really want to get the three pack for the Splatoon, so I may still have a chance if I get up really early?

http://serenesforest.net/2015/05/25/fire-emblem-famitsu-full-interview/
A new fire emblem IF interview.
Points of note for those who don't want to read it all are:
-Nohr campaign has very different victory conditions. One involves reaching a certain spot in a certain number of turns. New, harder conditions like this is why Phoenix mode was added.
-The dual and pair up system has been replaced with the guard and attack stance. When conditions have been met they have a 100% chance rate.
-Attack Stance: When adjacent to another unit it allows characters to follow up attacks. But no chance of defending meaning both units can be attacked if ganged up on.
-**Guard stance:**The two units become one with one unit guarding and one unit attacking. They travel around together.
-The abolishing of weapon durability was done to make it less stressful for new players. They felt that keeping in mind all of your weapons and when to use each one was an extra form of unneeded Micro-management that might scare new players. Some people may also never use certain weapons out of fear of losing them.
-The new weapon skills was added to make weapons more interesting and still fun to collect.
-Weapon weight is not back but some skills pretty much do the same thing.
-Javelins, hand axes and other similar range weapons can no longer double at. Maybe also tomes and hidden weapons. Not sure.
-This game has more characters than awakening did. Including gender ambigiuos Oboro:
!
-This game is set in a brand new world not linked to any previous fire emblem game.
-Nohr is not your typical western nation. It's castle is in the center of a giant hole.
-Hoshido is peaceful and a utopia where as bad weather and landscape make Nohr a hard place to live and this is the motivation for Nohr invading Hoshido (we have a wind waker ganondorf basis it seems).
-Each of the royal siblings have their own view and reasoning for war.
-Classes depend largely on which campaign you chose. Nohr has more typical fire emblem classses whereas Hoshido has more japanese based classes like Samurai and Ninjas.
-However Ninjas at least are not exclusive to one campaign, there are just more of them in the Hoshido story.
-Also that Green-haired, older Sothe we saw posted earlier is a Ninja class.
!
-Weapons can also be campaign exclusive. Hoshido has Katana's whereas Nohr has plain old swords. Both have different properties.
-Pegasus Knights have been replaced with Pegasus Warriors in this game and are a Hoshido based class. They can also be male now for the first time (i wonder Wyverns are exclusive to nohr then to balance things out?).
-when a pegasus warrior promotes, they can wield bows.
-The butler/maid class uses hidden weapons. One of these is apparently a fruit knife.
-There is a butler named Joker:
!
-A new item called a Parallel seal is in the game. It works like a second seal but your stats do not reset.
-Butlers/maids can become Rod Knights (Hoshido version of a troubador) and Cavalliers.
-It seems chosing what you promote into is still here as both great knights and paladins still exist.
-a Rod Knight evolves into a Strategist - not to be confused with Tactician.
-It seems that units may only have two class branches this time instead of three.
-
No, sorry, even with the new different campaign objectives, phoenix mode is still really, really dumb.
-
Here's some World 1 gameplay for Yoshi's Wooly World.
And here's a summary that covers details about the story, gameplay, and levels.
-
Besides the one or two times a tanky character on the defensive would switch to their brave weapon after breaking their bronze weapon (when they had another stack of bronze weapons), I never found the weapon limit thing to be all that stressful.
-Hoshido is peaceful and a utopia where as bad weather and landscape make Nohr a hard place to live and this is the motivation for Nohr invading Hoshido (we have a wind waker ganondorf basis it seems).
As if I needed more reason to play Nohr
-
Weapon system it's ok, when you get down to it, for regular weapons is an ammo system, and what it actualy adds:
- Resource handling
- Inventory tinkering
- Moment of tension of "I must reload" or "I must use this sub par weapon"
First one is interesting, but how you implement it into a game who's entire premise is "your troops aren't human resources, but actual people" and your troops as a resource is already front and center of it.
Second one will most of the time be a bother, is specialy dumb with the "refill my weapons" button. It's do this to not have a bad time in battle.
The third one can already be archieved with a mad dash to get to the healers instead of the tent or the lord, or when you get into a battle with the wrong kind of weapons, or a reinforcement comes up with a weapon that you can't handle as you are currently equiped, the kind of challenges of overcoming the unexpected, instead of having enough weapons use. I mean if I already know that I have 5 swings of this sword and I fail at battle because of it, it's an issue that's obvious that will come.
The final issue is the fact that if the ultra cool weapons aren't limited, then I'd start using them for everything. I have conflicted feelings on how this is an issue though. If I got to the end of the game, why couldn't I use this Axe of splitting gods to kill a bandit? There are ways to circumvent it's balance issues (the weapon bonds with the character, the characters get tired, if it's not used against a god is just a silver axe)
-

They felt that keeping in mind all of your weapons and when to use each one was an extra form of unneeded Micro-management that might scare new players. Some people may also never use certain weapons out of fear of losing them.
So it really is just as stupid as imagined. Can't let the kids worry too much about thinking, it scares them away.
-
I feel like these reasons MUST just be easy excuses or something. Because I mean come on, when you have a big team of experienced developers, how are some of them NOT going to at least go "hey, what if we just do this for the lower difficulty(ies)? You know, the kind that intimidated new players can pick!"
-
Sounds like they took the strategy out of this game completely
-
Or better yet…why didn't they just make this optional? SURELY it is not that hard to code in a mode that allows weapon degradation (aka classic mode or something).
-
Or better yet…why didn't they just make this optional? SURELY it is not that hard to code in a mode that allows weapon degradation (aka classic mode or something).
That's what I was thinking like make a hardcore mode for those core Fire Emblem players who want want to play it like a classic Fire Emblem game (for lack of a better term) mode for those who would rather play without the extra mechanics.
