@Verus:
True. At the same time, I have a dislike of intentionaly making situation absurd just to justify a certaint point of view.
Especially since it can work both ways. I can make Buster Call of Ohara more and more justified, by devolving it into hypothetical scenarios that didn't happen.
In my experience, there no point in doing it. If there was flottilla of those ships, he would still blow them up, true. At the same time, from his perspective, if he didn't do it, there was a high probability of another Island burning.
And you know what, Robin was totaly willing to see the world burn to save her friends. If I was Akainu, I would not trust any of those people to not use their knowledge to do the same.
That's a very odd phrase, you seem to have used before…
Maybe I've missed something, and if so I apologize, but:
Robin lets the world burn...
By giving the government what they wanted, they merely demanded, and partially had some knowledge of already , as well as strove to keep from all others hands?...
And this is somehow Robin's sole fault?..
Because?
And not completely on the WG for doing whatever with the information that actually makes " the world burn"?
While they were previously wanting/ preaching/ alleging "to erase the information, (with the BC), from the world to prevent ^^^ said world from burning"?
But somehow the blames on Robin?, for ....
I'm sorry, just not seeing it.
@CrazyMerlyn:
If there were 10 more refugee ships, he would have destroyed them all. Anyone who tries to stop him will meet the same fate as the one who question shooting at Lucci and Luffy at Enies Lobby. I know it sounds atrocious, but the whole idea of Buster Call is atrocious. Going easy at the very end of something so evil will only lead to disastrous consequences, as evident from Robin's escape and the second Buster Call.
Interesting, some seem to think their superiors are absolutely right to disregard the fodder marines here, but it's the total opposite as regards Fujitora, ( somehow we think those questioning him know better than Fujitora)…
But could that thinking be explained to me, as fine he wants to get rid of all the BC entails, but how does that refer to his supposedly fellow Marines, who was on the ship the whole time, whose "only crime" was talking, and just as easily/ "efficiently" just been told - No?
@Verus:
Oh for the love of… not only does Viola herself states that the possibility of that is none, they also gave up on the capturing him themselves.
Those were major plot points. You can't ignore them just cause you want to justify him, that is not fair to the character that were actually doing something.
Poor marine grunts were mauled by rampaging gorillas, and you are like "Well, he can't go and help them, somebody might try to catch him alive!".
Really? That does not make me like him much more. If anything, it makes him even more of an ass in my eyes.
And the marines managed to save everybody in the mean time.
He would show just in time to claim credit for others action. Like any true ruler would.
So he's more of "an @$$" ….
Never mind, you seem to be talking about multiple time periods, wide spread apart locations, all at once, ( some of which would seemingly be foolish to go with a contracting BC, while seemingly previously quite injured).
