He was focused on Luffy and then bang Law, the dead guy who he just shot about a gazillion times pops into existence right in front of him wielding some weird energy knife.
I can understand the fraction of a second he had left to react before he got the knife in his chest being somewhat overpowered by sheer surprise.
I think it more the "guy who should be dead just popped up in front of me totally made me freeze for a split second in shock." At this point he has cut off Law's arm, shot him several times and for all intense and purposes should be dead. He was expecting a rubber boy to hit him, not an overly hyped corpse.
Listen guys, I can understand how it would be a big surprise to see Law instead of Luffy in front of him, especially since he just shot him 9 times.
But look at this damn pose:

His guard isn't even up. He just let himself get stabbed. Am I supposed to believe that he froze so much that his body can't even react to an immediate threat? Dofla? Give me a break. It's incredibly lazy.
A more intelligent solution would have been to have Law switch places with a piece of debris or a rock that was behind or on the side of Dofla, so he can stab him while he's concentrated on Luffy.
Sorry, just not a fan of villain standing still while getting stabbed in the chest from front side.
Btw, what the hell is "Chambres" supposed to be? Lol.

I don't like Law's powers I think they're dumb. All the 'room' and 'shambles' things are okay but these 'gamma knives' attacks just seem kind of bullshit. Didn't care for this chapter but I am very much ready to have Luffy and Doflamingo duke it out.

im not sure how to feel about this chapter. law and dofla outsmarting each other with their hax abilities doesnt really appealing to me. the last page is awesome though.
i got feeling that burgess will crash the party just like kuma did in thriller's bark. this time sabo most likely will come to the rescue though.

We've already had x, y and z between Doffy and Law.
They've already talked about Corazon and his murder being Law's reason for hating Doflamingo.
They've already has some brutal fights that invariably ended with Doflamingo standing over Law and shooting him repeatedly.
In this chapter we got nothing new in terms of Law and Doffy's relationship, and it ended once again with Law down and Doffy just about to start fighting Luffy.
In fact we're actually in a less tense situation now, since Law has gone from Schrodinger's Law to Exhausted Law.

Part of Dressrosa has just become a haze to me, just waiting for it to end.

I don't know why but something tells that if such a scenario happened. Burgess would be the one walking out of there.
Oda has been doing a lot of parallels with previous arcs this time. So this happening similar to Kuma would make sense.

Agreed. I think this would work well for Luffy's tactics. Sustain an unrelenting attack on Mingo and Luffy is very good at that.

Yes, but when you measure strenght in this series, you have to take devil fruits into account. Red hawk is only possible thanks to Luffy's fruit, so if we have to measure the difference in strenght properly, it would've had to be a regular punch.

So I have a dumb theory: What if Trebol is from the void century and has managed to remainalive all this time somehow? I don't think he'll participate in the fight but he will whisk DD away beofre he's taken in by Issho. Then maube we'll get a reveal of who Trebol really is.

Also the scene where Luffy stopped Mingo's feet was a nice callback to the scene where he stopped Arlong's sword and completely nullified all of Arlong's physical strength just by grabbing it.

Interesting Chapter , Kinda disappointed with the whole Law situation I liked the build up to him being dead but now he has invisible ' Room ' and can attack without you even knowing. His technique is interesting to damage all the body's organs with a single stab. No surprise in Doffy being able to repair his body with his strings really, Rob Lucci said it best and this will remain true throughout all of One Piece " Depending on how you use and train your Devil Fruit. It can be a strong weapon in battle " Crocodile also said something similar.Strength alone isn't enough for a DF but how you use the abilities. All in all not a bad chapter

In short, you're not going to convince me how it's perfectly OK, because top enemies in New World should be better.
But, Dofla has been a disappointment in more ways than one. The more we see him, the less of a threat he turns into. This time, he had to cop out to allow Law to handycap him. Makes me wonder how long it will be before Luffy goes one on one against one of Yonkou.

I'm still trying to understand Donflamingo repairing such a devastating hit so quickly with strings. Luffy might have to blow the guy to bits to beat him. I'm hoping during the Luffy and Donflamingo fight we get some more information on Ds and what knowledge Donflamingo might have gained when living as a noble, until his dad fucked it up for him. He may expand on why the Ds are referred to as God's natural enemy. "Gods" being deluded elite psychopaths it seems. With all the talk of fate in One Piece, there's no doubt that Luffy is going to defeat Donflamingo by himself because they're like natural enemies, D vs noble. First you'd think Law was the natural enemy, but the best he managed to to was lead Luffy to Donflamingo, the rest better left forgotten for Law.
And what is Fujitora doing? Is he smoking the same stuff Kizaru is? He should be more present with the power he has, and he should be working on destroying the birdcage right now. With his ability he should have restored more calm to Dressrosa, instead he's gone AWOL.
I still think something big is coming at the end of this arc.

Look at his cheek - not even smallest cut is visible there after Law sliced it, Doflamingo gotten it closed very fast with his ability.
Take off that repairing of organs from Doflamingo and he is back on ground again, he would not be able to stand after Laws attacks if not for his devil fruit. -

This is also jumping the shark in my opinion- Doflamingo is at his best, strongest when he is calm. He is not a machine and he also makes mistakes, shock he gotten from Law poping up before frozen him and thats all.
I think Doflamingo isnt that much stronger than Luffy or Law because otherwise he would be able to react in time to their attacks that landed in the end. When he is calm and plays his enemy into loosing nerve gap between him and Luffy/ Law is bigger than it is on paper so to say.
Luffy now is pissed off but calm, same as Doflamingo so we will possibly see some equal exchange with Luffy having edge over time.Luffy has no chance to go against Admiral 1 on 1 so its a long way to go for him to be going after Yonko.

I'm not saying Dofla was lazy, I'm saying Oda was lazy. Law could have switched places with a rock behind Dofla's back and attacked him while his attention was on Luffy. That would have actually been believable.
Please stop explaining how Dofla was so surprised that he forgot he's actually a capable fighter with strength, speed, reflexes and hax devil fruit which he already used to defend from straightforward attacks. But I guess Shambles or Chambres is just super effective against him.
I expect more from such a high calibre villain. And from all we've seen, he should be able to stop someone from stabbing him in the chest from the front.

Except this time, there was no net to stop an attack. He also dodged Hawk Gattling pretty fast in the last chapter.
This time, there was no net, and he didn't dodge the attack. In a split second, when he saw Law he dropped whatever he was going to do to counter Luffy's attack. Being surprised doesn't mean you can't continue doing what you were going to do anyway.
As for Room, as long as they can't see it's edge, they can't see it at all.

Sanji had chance to beat up Vergo while he was in wall but he also didnt continued attacking with likes of Hell Memories/ Grill Shot and Premiere attacks he used against Doflamingo.Its not like characters do their best attacks and react in every single moment to enemys attacks in perfect moments.
Razh - remember what you said about Bellamy being able to hit Luffy - he also took Luffy by suprise to some degree and there isnt as big difference between Law and Doflamingo as there most likely is between Bellamy and Luffy.

You believe Doffy has been patching every attack that he's been hit by ? I'm also a little disappointed about Doffy for this whole arc but I would give a little credit. I think he tanked Red Hawk only that one attack by Law is what I think he's been using that String-Heal on.
