Ha, see I don't know about all of that retconned history. I literally just started reading Marvel about a month ago and went straight to Civil War, and pretty much wiki'd The Sentry's name when he showed up and changed 'opinion polls' during the war. From what I read he seemed to be suuupeeer important and, yeah, I also read WWH and they hyped him up so much in my mind he's like Marvel's Superman but not as active because he's scared of….going outside or something.
Yeah, he didn't appear until like, 2000… but they tried to pretend he'd been around since the sixties. It just doesn't work and its dumb.
There's a reason they sent him off into space like 7 years ago where we can further pretend he just never happened.
@Outerspec:
What do you think of Black Bolts power? It's not the power of a million exploding suns insane but it is a shout can destroy an entire planet insane.
Its fine to have a power that can destroy the earth. No problem there. But they literally described Sentry's power as "the power of a million exploding suns" like EVERY issue. Methinks the writer had no concept of how powerful a exploding sun would be, let along a million of them.
The same way Amadeus Cho kept saying "I'm the sixth smartest person on the planet" even though there's no way to measure that so specifically, and he said it so often if got to be really dumb really fast.
