Was that thing/ power ever explained?
It does not look like death dealing is limited in one way or maybe I dont have idea what is his power at all even after one of his fights..
Nope, no explanation on that. I doubt that even had anything to do with his Letter power. Maybe it's just a portal, akin to Hollow's Garganta.
Also now I remembered that Urysomething now will have also same power as JB?
He has to babysit Ichigo while he is on duty.
How to write a compelling shonen rivalry! By Kubo Tite
Introduce antagonistic Rival to main character! To underline their duality, have Rivals fighting style be opposite of the Heros, and invert their uniforms color! Have Rival belong to a faction with diametrically opposed beliefs to Hero, though they share common endgoals! Give Rival a chip on his shoulder due to wrongs made upon his kind by Heros faction!
Have MC and rival intially team up as allies; you need to give them a connection, so the readers feel something if Rival becomes an enemy!
Send Hero and Rival on an epic quest to save a common friend! The enemy can be the Heros faction, which will cause Hero to have a lot of introspection about his side not being undisputedly in the right and then this guy who was supposed to be dead is not dead and slicks his hair back and planned everything bad ever
Rival fights a giant Caterpillar Baby monster controlled by a hamfisted manifestation of everything bad done to Rivals people. This causes Rivals relationship to the hero and his faction to
Rival and Heros bond is now very strong!
Launch epic Mega-Arc where the Hero’s faction faces off against a white-clad, unforeseen army of their age-old, literal opposites, bent on destroying the Heros kind as well as God and reality itself! The hero, shockingly a dual product of both sides, must tap into both sides of his power to face the nigh- omnipotent enemy, who has been manipulating him all along!!!
What? What about the Rival? Don't be daft, he has nothing to do with this
Eh, I guess the rival can tag along again and fight some low level enemy soldiers
"Have serious exploration of the rivals unique relationship with the enemy forces compared to the hero?" What are you babbling about? The rival can get fodderized and spend the majority of the arc offscreen and inconsequential, thats what he can do.
Keep interactions between Hero and Rival to a minimum
Scratch that, keep scenes with Rival to a minimum
Rival and Heros bond is now very strong! Rival still appears to be a totally legit main character, and definitely not totally underused at mistreated!
Start new arc; Have Rival get taken out like a chump, in order to justify the Hero joining extremely untrustworthy people in order to protect his friends
Keep interactions between Hero and Rival to a minimum. Keep rival ofscreen and incapacitated most the arc, despite being the causal factor for everything, and ESPECIALLY because he can instantly expose the villain plot twist (Villain plot twists are SACRED! It is known!)
Have rival show up at the end at the Heros lowest point!
Have Rival be totally inconsequential. This may sound weird to you, but trust me, I’m a professional, I know where this is going.
Arc ends! New Arc! Due to that time back then, on the roof or whatever, Hero and Rivals are the bestest of friends and its so great you guys because youd think they’d be enemies!

Finally, do that thing where the Hero and Rival come face to face on the battlefield, and the Hero shouts the Rivals name real loud, only the Rival doesn’t care and turns and leaves, and the Hero must chase after him
Oh, oh oh, and then Stromboli and the villain fight, and theres a giant brush, and a shitload of black ink, and something about eyeballs, I feel like eyeballs are really good for a villain, and his beard should get bigger!!!

Ah, satire beats the typical rant anyday~
Wait but I like the rants too
Meh, I can't be even mad at him.
Poor man has some measure of creative talent, and clearly no idea what to do with it, or how to properly manage it.
Hey, you all are going to hurt Kubo's feelings again! You all know how mad he gets wh- Oh-no! Here he comes now!
"Those without talent and who make no efforts, yet still complain about what they get and can only drag down those who do make efforts – they ought to just close their eyes, stick themselves in some corner, and open their mouths and eat only rain and dust and just barely survive."

You're my favorite person Daz. This post was the bees knees.
Beautiful, i want Bleach to keep on going just to see more of Daz.
It's worth mentioning how apparently there was "THE RIVALRY!!!!!" also between Stromboli (i laugh everytime i read it for some reason) and our Mary Sue villain. Could that lead somewhere since the former magically resurrected while still being in the afterlife????
I lolled hard. Best part is Ishida was really only a rival for the initial arc he was introduced, and arguably the Soul Society arc. After that, they were more or less friends.
With Daz post in mind, I can't wait to see a certain someone from a certain forum go on a thesis rant about how the Ichigo/Ishida thing is deep and complex.
So with new chapter coming out soon, I wonder how much of the chapter will be Ichigo and Ishida talking with nonsense philosophy being thrown around to convince that they are deep.

Holy crap, if you look at it from left to right, the volumes seem to get darker, and Stromboli's grin gets wider…

@Galaxy:
Here's Volume 67's cover:
I don't know if to put this in "rapeing time" level or five nights in Freddy's level…
Bloody hell, how long does it take for them to pass through the gate to the Royal Realm that is already open? They are still standing there literally doing nothing while His majesty now absorbs the Soul King…
If kubo replaced every time ichigo screamed someone's name with an attack, we'd have three times as more chapters.
I've lost count of how many chapters were just composed solely of 1 attack. ichigo's screamed names more often than he attacks…

At a rate of 1 attack per chapter, or 3 name calls per chapter, take your pick.
Technically not a lot of in-universe time has passed, but irl and pacing wise, a LOT of time.
On the bright side, we got to see the other Elite Quincy again except white hair that is still missing….
so Bach´s guard is called schutzstaffel…subtle
also, did ishida forget everyone can just stand in mid-air? not much danger in "dropping" them
Well that was a thing. Bleach: Where the last 10 chapters amounted to nothing.

it is a sad state for your manga when fans cannot remember the name of an important suboridinate and refer to him as "elite quincy"

i dont know what you mean, now we get to see YWAHCAHBCA standing around "absorbing" for 20 chapters while the baddies we already saw getting beaten get beaten again. i can practically smell the tension

50 gallons of bleach to anyone who can name all the elite quinzy plus the elite shinigami

Not even Aizen could survive the pain of 50 gallons of Bleach. He'd pass out from just a gallon of nonsensicalness that even he couldn't come up with, despite Bleach being 90% Aizen concentrate.

I remember their names, i just can't be assed to write them out, Elite Quincy is quicker and it covers them all…
Did he forget that he introduced that right hand thingy like 5 chapters ago and all it contributed to was just prolonging the status quo. And now he's just killing it off, I mean damn is anything going on here actually gonna lead anywhere? I'm starting to think Kubo is just intentionally fucking with us.

You don't need to start to think it, think it cuz its true, he is trolling us 3 ways from Sunday..
I'm convinced that Kubo is having huge writers block. He introduces the elite guys, only for all the other characters to lose their powers. Only two of them have powers explained, but have done almost nothing. Juhabach fights monk for a number of chapters, which end anticlimactically. Then there is a number of chapters with Juhabach doing stuff, which then other things happen to delay him, while a chapter is there to explain how everyone else will get to the palace, a nonsense conversation happens between Shunsui and Aizen, Ukitake gets his pointless moment, and now Ichigo and company is back at the bottom, with Juhabach waiting for them to come back up. Also, Ishida's reason for wanting everything to disappear is because he's a Quincy, and OP Juhabach is going to become even stronger. Nothing except the RG being offed has progressed for quite a while, and motivations are nonsensical if there are even motivations. My long post a number of pages back doesn't even cover some of the stuff from this chapter.
Now I wait a day or two, then look to see how the uber fans react.
This is whats going to happen next, the shinigami will arrive then the elites will fight them and the whole thing with mimihagi and what not was an excuse for him to do something but not fight directly and not stand around which is good at least ,,, the problem is when they will arrive, but like some people stated its really annoying how long this is taking , i can never get used to the pacing even though this is hows its been since the start
Imagine how long this will take if the rest of SK's limbs get as much chapters as the right hand had.
It feels like Shueisha is just keeping an empty bottle of Bleach and pretending that there's still something in it instead of, you know, buying a new one.
Imagine how long this will take if the rest of SK's limbs get as much chapters as the right hand had.
Since none of the good guys are at the royal palace ( since ichigo and co. just fell down ) hopefully we dont see them until everyone gets there so we dont have to continue reverting back between SS and royal palace. I wouldnt be surprised if they look for the soul kings parts or they all connect somehow ,,, at the end of the day i think that kubo tried to give the readers hope by having ichigo and company go there and the mimihagi come into effect and then having it fail miserably , but speaking personally i dont like how ichigo trained in the royal palace then came down to soul society , then went back up again when juha went ahead, and then now he fell again to the soul society and he will probably go back up ,,
Oh my goodness. I really can't stand Uryu being a condescending prick. ….I know it's the MO for many Bleach villains, but seriously. And letting them fall? Is shunpo suddenly broken? Ichigo (wait is Yoruichi knocked out?) can't back up?
And now Bach sets his sights on absorbing everything that belongs to the Soul King. This is gonna take a while, folks.

its obvious that uryu made them fall so that the elite sternritter wont kill them , he basically saved them , but like you said it will take awhile
So Ukitake died for nothing!
…Yay?

I imagine Bach is now going to be too drunk with power to notice that.
Seriously, what is Uryu's endgame here?
So Ukitake died for nothing!
…Yay?
Lol, I just remembered that. Way to go Uki!
Still, his death did buy a couple of chapters. Good thing Chad, Orihime and Kiba went with. Their presence was instrumental.

Awesome post! XDDD
Sadly, this works greatly for Kubo. People continue to throw money at him. His formula is "perfecto". :c
I really don't get Ishidas line to sniper quincy here.
"I know what you're gonna say. They might die from falling, but if I'd made sure they were dead before dropping them, we wouldn't have to worry at all. So the fact that I didn't do that might be construed as highly suspicious, like I was helping them escape or something. You're propably gonna say that, especially as your shot at Ichigo following my not-killing him seem to support such mentality.
…
...
...
But this is what protecting his Majesty is all about right?"
"BWAHAHA, well said Ishida, you are truly a most trustworthy member of our group!"
Its probably a translation goof, but seriously, I don't get it. Ishida lampshades his own untrustworthyness and gets praised for it?
Ishida still gonna pull a Starscream, right?

Or maybe he's the Tommy Wiseau of manga. He will just pretend like Bleach was a dark comedy all along when confronted with this very valid criticism.

The only ones that should battle the Elites are Zaraki, Byakuya, Renji, Rukia, Urahara, and maybe Hachi, the rest are useless.
As for the chapter, liked how Gerald saved Pernida, kinda confirms she is a girl…
