Wow and I thought Caribou's story was as unmemorable and unlikeable as Caribou himself. :wassat: I wonder what made him drag it out so much.
I found Caribou memorable enough tbh, even if a big part of that memorability was him being exposed as an overconfident logia.
In terms of likeability, I can't say I didn't crack a smile when he came back to fight Scotch for a second time and subsequently swallow the weapons factory.
As to why it took so long, Oda did a lot of stuff in that cover story.
- Jinbei's role
- Brought back Coribou and the crew
- Reintroduced Kaidou's favourite island and Scotch
- Introduced the weapons factory
- Introduced a new set of revolutionaries, specifically Gaburu
- Gave Caribou the chance to be a semi decent guy
- Reintroduced Drake
- Likely set Caribou on his way to Kaido with his knowledge of Poseidon
There are probably more major story elements implicated in this cover story than in any other, so the length is excusable in my opinion.
