Actually, chapters are not made on the same week they are published. This chapter was most likely made 1 or 2 weeks before Kubo was hospitalized.
As surprising it might sound, the same goes for the ToC comments.

Actually it was for Nel's giant pet worm… which was a lame reason. I didn't care enough to remember if that thing was successfully rescued or not. IIRC, Nel and her crones became somewhat irrelevant after Harribel's fraccion started fighting Quilge.

True reason Kubo showed Nel, was because he needed the rating to be higher. If he brought back a fan favorite, people would forget how bad it had gotten. Same is true with the whole "It's Grimmjow, but I'm not going to show him yet, because you people love him, so I'll show him when ratings are low again". Funnily enough, the site I look at to see the huge Bleach fans rant about how great the series is has been negative lately about it. I haven't seen any essay length posts on all the symbolism of the chapter, and how it relates to any and all mythology. This same site was grilling Bleach during the Aizen stuff, but when Gin turned out to be "good", they all freaked out and claimed Bleach was amazing again.

They went there to rescue Dondochakka. Urahara and Pesche eventually rescued him while the others were fighting Quilge.

Well, I remember Aizens last speech before getting sealed, so I already had that expectation of Soul King beign just a lynchpin, but I certainly didn't expect that he'd even have neither arms nor legs. Well, makes sense I guess, considering that Yhwach is originally a paralyzed as well if it wasn't for absorbed power from others.

The only thing that surprised me this chapter is the Soul king being a quadruple amputee. I mean its not like he was very mobile anyways, but that just seemed random.
Oh, and I guess we can add another "Ichigo Trolled by Villain "moment to the pile. This is number what now? Two thousand?

In retrospect, the scene where the Soul King was revealed seems increasingly weird. Why would anyone ever bother reporting to him?

Soul King dies by Ichigo's hand; Urahara sheds more light on the mechanics behind how he and Gotei 13 intend to break into the Royal Palace; Clearer insight into how Yhwach's ability works (there was some ambiguity before); Revelation that those of Quincy blood loathe the Soul King instinctually on a genetic level to such a degree they can't help but attack on sight; Soul Society begins to crumble in wake of the Soul Kings demise = nothing happened… lol.

The most important figure in the Bleach universe dying by the main characters hand and Soul Society beginning to crumble immediately after as a direct result is "fluff"? Hah! XD

What constitutes "action" to you, exactly? Fights??? Usually people around here complain about the fights being "filler" and "boring" and that they "don't advance the plot." What does advance the plot if exposition and fights do not?
