It is very possible that Oda did forget to draw it, especially if it were a last-minute add-on to the character. Then again, it reminds me of one of those heavy metal bats you used as a kid playing sports (albeit, coloured) and a bit like a racoon's tail too. Maybe he's got a Friut centered around Tanuki? I recall there being tales of them being able to affect weight and what-not (leaves being made to weigh a ton or something like that). Might be the case...

If shield doesnt matter then what is use of it?

Why use shield but putting it up front and going from 10t to 1000 or 10 000 tons?
Even here he looks like he is pulled down by shield and not by his own weight

! after that scene it was hinted in this chapter that Machvise was floating in the air since then most likely.

He looked in his chapter like he is pulled down by shield and not that shield was just a cover for his body.

I really have hard time buying Oda using exactly same power again..

As for his tail - Maybe he is Minkman :ninja:

Flying Suqirrel Minkman and shield doesnt play any role in his floating - he just uses his natural ability to float and he in fact really can only increase his own weight(would make sense that for heaviest attacks he uses shield in front of him? I dunno.. ).

Orlumbus got about 20 times cooler, Baby 5 is still hilarious, and Hajrudin attended the Skyrim school of blasting people into the stratosphere.

I really liked the one small panel of Pica coming out of the Pica statue's back. It's just really cool and I have no other concrete justification.

All in all, not a memorable chapter but certainly not a bad one.

I think what a lot of people didn't take into account at the end of the
previous chapter was the possibility of Bellamy actually hurting Luffy.
Barely anyone (including myself) acknowledged that as a possible outcome.

Props to Bellamy.
He can't have much gas in the tank though, I don't think he can keep this up for long.

Bellamy asked Luffy to stand still to witness his resolve.
And Luffy did, this is another Jaya punch.
Luffy just stood there to be hit by Bellamy.
Luffy didn't fall.
That doesn't mean it didn't hurt, just in the next chapter it will show that Luffy's resolve is bigger anyway.

Well now it's weird to me why the red flash/firework happened in the barrel. Since these are obviously the same barrels, the one in Thriller Bark was then modified to have that flash. We'll actually have to wait for Jinbei to inspect it probably in the next cover page.

What do those characters stand for? Aohige help!

Yes, I realize the clank is from Gladius, I never insinuated that I thought it came from Machvise
and just ask yourself this; How likely is the chance that Oda just happened to forget to draw it in the same chapter on two successively pages? Showing him approach a group of enemies on one page, and growing the tail on the next page.
This isn't a mistake, this is like the fin of Dellinger showing up a couple of times before revealing himself to be part fishman. This is deliberate.
Edit: It was also missing when he was introduced with his text box and when he was talking to Baby 5 to call her down after attacking Doflamingo.

I really hope it is some kind of connection (thought I fear it is not), FT is one of the very few 'mysteries' I remember from the OP world. Were was exactly Jimbey going before his whole adventure started? was it stated?

That's what we got. A showing of how his ability works, him talking about it a little and using numbers with ton. Don't know what the big deal is. If that tail and shield were so important, they would have been explained.

This is from Jinbei's wiki page. This definitely has connections to the giant mysterious sea creature from Thriller Bark. Maybe the sea creatures are masters of the big guy lol.

Zoro should really take care of Pica rather than being the baddass character that just can't stop with the one-liners. Damn I hate what he became. On the other hand Pica is doing pretty fine. sure he let Law and Luffy passed but at least Zoro is still stuck with him and unable to beat him. But Dressrosa landscape is really getting screwed up. Even the statue is strange now.

Giant punch was cool(send all the way to the threads). I liked the crushing ground and bones effect (do they get repaired easily?). Since he is the only giant to actually do something , he migth as well take the throne. But it really would have more satisfying if we saw them fight a little.

In the end it seems the colliseum fighter will take care of the officers. Not that I am surprise. Althhough I was surprise about giant being one of the victorious one. Machvise should check his one-shot skills. On the other side Dellinger seems to be doing ok eeven if he can't one-shot Ideo.

Maybe some king punch incoming.

Gonna side with Luffy about Bellamy acting stupid. I wonder how Luffy is going to take care of that. He doesn't have that much time and energy to spare after all.

With how things are playing out, I can see a number of the officers going down quite soon, with Dellinger being next by the looks of it. I feel most of the officers will be taken out within a chapter each now, mainly the ones that are fighting non-strawhats and are not Cavendish or Bartolomeo.

A question for those who are really unhappy, how would you have liked for the fights to have gone down? Do most of the officers need that much focus on the fights when they weren't that well developed? Not saying you can't like what happened, but just curious how you would've liked this fight to go down, considering both characters were mostly nobodies as far as how much focus they have been given so far.

Here my toughts:

Miss Valentine = Change your own weight
Machvise = Change inorganic stuff's weight
Mr 5 = Make parts of yourself explode
Gladius = Make inorganic stuff erupt/break/explode

Powers are similar but have differences. Those are different fruits.
It's cool that there are similar fruits but with differences and others power/weak points.
Sort of rankings even in paramecia fruits (like magma and fire logia).

By the way, the chapter was great, good fights.
Zoro still needs to figure out how to stop Pika and his ridiculous voice.

From a past chapter I had understood that Zoro had completely figured out how to defeat Pika, and seeing Zoro still dealing with Pika who is running around like a mouse got me a little disappointed. But I have to add, the part with Pikas laugh was funny and I enjoyed the chapter

Actually when I think about it. That's really strange that this creature has never been mentioned since the beginning of Thriller Bark. It might not be important though since it happened in the first half of the Grand Line, unless the New World has more of these Florian Trinagle type places where TEN of these reside.

An okey chapter, but I'm afraid that Oda will show the defeat of the Dofla family through Zoro's battle (ie: Zoro happened to pass by Giant Vs weight, Weight gets taken down), but I like that Oda is using Pica's power rather than having a sword fight for the sake of swords and that Dellinger is just him being him.

A full chapter focus could probably have made all those things happen. We did see him getting beaten in a few panels in other chapters, but I know you mean a more focus on it.

I know people don't like Zoro as much as they used to (or hate him even more now), but to me it didn't feel like it focused on him to much. I feel Oda was trying less to give a focus on a less important battle (at least what I feel is unimportant) to show of more of Pica, and show how it is affecting the other battles.

No, what happened is that Pika got distracted with Rebecca, Robin and Bartolomeo flying above him, and so he became exposed and unprotected, Zoro used that opportunity to land an attack on him, attack that a lot of people though would 1 hit KO Pika. At that Zoro said something like "I think I gotten the hang of this".
Truth is that he didn't got an hang of the attack at all, all that is happening is him cutting Stone and evading attacks. In reality is Zoro the one running around like a mouse and Pika going after him. Zoro comments are cocky ones, but they aren't true, the fact is that Zoro is the one in a disadvantage.

Thoguh the chapter was fun its nice to see that Pika wasn't beaten yet, Hajrudin scenes were pretty cool this is one of the reasons I love One Piece Oda can make a side character have this awesome moments.
