Apparently the 3rd wave is January in Japan and the 4th wave is February. So i guess that leaves Palutena, Pac-Man, Robin, Zero Suit Samus and Olimar left out from the 3DS starting line-up and Ness, Jigglypuff, Ganondorf and bowser Jr. from the wii U starting roster. Wave 5? Or Wave 5 & 6? Either way i'm interested in mega man and shulk here

Glad third parties did happen, wondering whether to get them or not … That aside, Rosalina and Shulk are the ones I'll go for in this wave
The amiibos aparently can only hold the data for One Game, so if you use them for smash, and there comes another game that allows to save data, you'll have to erase your fighter in order to save data for that game.
That sucks but i can also understand that a little. What i'm wondering is if games like mario kart 8 and hyrule warriors count? Seeing as your not saving anything to the amiibo itself
I can see the Pokemon Amiibos working with Pokken Fighters. Some of them are cool but I'm not sure if I should get some since I don't have a WiiU yet …

Oh man, Meta Knight and Rosalina are definites. Maybe Sonic too, wonder if Sega/Sonic Team will use the amiibo for their future games.
It was confirmed that amiibos will work with 3rd party games so i don't see why not. With all these amiibos the only thing i'm wondering is which ones will have limited shelf-life? Or i wonder if they will always be available online at the likes of amazon. I don't have enough money atm to waste buying amiibo's but i would like some of the more unusual ones. I want shulk and mega man, i want Ness, captain falcon and little mac could be cool and i want ZSS and lucina as well. Just hope lucina does not get the marth treatment.
Is it just me or does this wave look better than the first one. I mean you can see the bulky stands and sonic looks a little odd to me so i reckon this will be what they look like when they launch

Interesting, and I suppose the bold is because of….well, a small cartoony Link is still Link. Actually, Toon Link would fit better in Mario's colorful world, but that's neither or there.

Pretty sure Smash is the only game at the moment that requires saving. The rest are just basically like scanning to see you have an amiibo then unlocking said content.
And damn, these Amiibo's are going to destroy my wallet. I'm not going to buy them all at once, but can easily see me picking up a couple every couple weeks or so. I have Samus and Link coming on release day. Gonna want, Ike, Mario, Sonic, Shulk, Shiek, Zelda, Ganondorf, Luigi, Pit, Yea I shoudl probably stop listing them now cause it could go on for a while, lol
And here's hoping that Zelda, Shiek and Ganondorf give WEAPONS in Hyrule Warriors. Toon link can be just a costume, link has enough weapons, plus a costume that woudl make him look like toon link would be funny too.
i reckon toon link will give link another weapon, one from wind waker although i don't know what. The grappling hook would work well but i would rather that saved for a potential medli character in the sequels :P. Also shiek and ganondorf should get their smash styles as their new weapons.
I donwloaded Professor Layton v. Phoenix Wright the other day, having never played a game in either series, but somewhat interested in both. Would it be fair to judge their other games based off of this one alone? I'm enjoying the Layton parts right now, but not really feeling the Phoenix Wright gameplay. I'm barely on chapter 3 or 4 though.

I thought I heard the 3DS version was actually good and its the Wii U version that is bad.
But free themes are good ideas for 3rd parties. People who don't want to fork over a few dollars for a theme but want one will download, and then sooner or later might succumb to the temptation to buy said game due to seeing background everday

No kidding, especially since a friend of mine spotted a Wii U bundle on their site for the same price. It's unavailable when you click on it, though, so that one is most likely an error.
And the XL is now back to its regular price, so obviously it was a pricing screw up with the site. Looks like some people still managed to get it at the heavily discounted price, though. Hopefully my friend was able to get one before the pricing was fixed…

The game was super cheap, down to 5 bucks all over, but is now selling out and skyrocketing in price online. The community behind the hack is taking a firm "no piracy" stance but, c'mon… give people a tool and they will exploit it.
Hopefully this doesn't lead to publishers not localizing games anymore like they did with the PSP...

Well gamecards have existed for two years now but I'm excited for this if it lets me play japanese games if not I dont care.
If i understand correctly the homebrew doesn't have region unlocking yet. Also i by chance have a copy of cubic ninja so that's cool. I don't usually do homebrew stuff but i'll be getting a new 3ds and then my old one become obsolete essentially so why not

I thought not localizing a game had more to do with the fears of the publisher's assuming no one would want to buy some niche game that gamer's in Japan often don't really like.
I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

A preorder bonus for a future game seems like a safe bet at this point.
Or "loot crate" exclusives.
I think Rosalina was not available for pre-order on Amazon, along with Shulk, Meta Knight, and Lucario, so she'd probably be the last one (unless one of them turns out to be Amazon-exclusive). I've heard speculation that she'd be exclusive to Wal Mart, but that's just speculation.
I want: Mario, Link (Have em Preordered) Mega Man, Captain Falcon, Zelda, Toon Link, and Ganon.
