I missed the part where Smoker's debt towards pirates overcoming everything else was part of his justice.
Smoker's individual justice is not even that well defined for that matter.
You mean like he did here:
!
-
Didn't he call him Vergo when talking to Law? Why are you making me doubt myself!?
Apparently he did and now I'm on Darth side as to why the heck he will keep it a sercret

So, I'm not sure if anyone's gone over this but there's a really interesting French proverb in today's color spread:
Which literally translates to "The Bear's Paving Stone" which is a reference to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bear_and_the_Gardener
But the intention of that phrase is "The road to hell is paved with good intentions" (more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_road_to_hell_is_paved_with_good_intentions).

But the situation are completly different.

Stop tempting me!
We still don't know why Fuji kept away from Dofla, doesn't matter what his other motives are or how clear they were.
-
I could be wrong, but don't you think that D. might stand for Devil? As in, the enemy of God?
Doesn't mean they are really devils, just that an ancient kingdom clan, to oppose those that started calling themselves gods, decided to use the name devil.I believe this to be the case. This chapter really supports the theory. Adam, Noah, 'forbidden' fruit, and Devil. I have no idea why there is so much skepticism about this theory when it's basically spelled out.
-
I'm an optimist.
There could still be credible explanations. Corazon's position as a double agent requires quite an amount of balancing, I'm sure. His position would probably be heavily compromised if Vergo was suddenly uncovered. Especially if he has any reason to think Dofla might be suspicious of him. Maybe the fact that Vergo didn't change his name was Dofla's test of sorts, to see if he has an information leak.
Frankly, I don't see how Oda could miss an obvious plot hole like that.
So it's obvious that Corazon did not told him. Then, is there a reason that you can think for that, that would sound convincing to you? I can't.
Easy. Vergo intercepted the report. Just like he did with all those missing children reports.
Roci said he was gonna write the details. A letter, I guess.
-
I'm going to make a guess as to why doffy called cora, It's because he has found ope ope no mi. He hasn't decided as what to do with it so he'll ask cora opinion on that one. He doesn't really want to hand over the df to law but cora will insist that law should eat it, if he doesn't heal by this method then he'll die and the df will be reborn again so no harm done. I think doffy will agree to this.:cheerful:
-
Looks like law will be cure by dr kureha. They seems on drum island
Haa chopper and law connection
You read it first here
Was thinking the same thing because they were camping out on what looked to be some winter island.

Chapter feels kinda 'Meh' compared to the previous 2: upon reaching the last page, I felt like I'd barely read anything. Rocinante is a man with heart, a marine officer and a DF user: fine. But that's pretty much all there is to the chapter. Rubbing in Law's illness/rejection by ordinary people felt redundant, as his background had been clear enough on the matter (and much more efficient emotion-wise). Seeing Vergo in the Marines doesn't tell us anything we don't already know, and neither does the initial babble about D. Really feels like a waste of pages. :/
20 pages full of conversations and infos …
-
To be honest this chapter was quite pleasing. I almost wish Oda would pull a Fairy Tail and make Corazon actually be alive now in present time. But of course, if he did, he would do it in a much better way than Fairy Tail does things all the time.
-
So who will defeat Doflamingo in the end? this flashback is setting it up for law to get his revenge. But on the other hand, we have the foreshadowing of Fuji and Sabo both betting on Luffy…? anyone wanna stick their neck out and take a guess?
-
Rocinante is the natural enemy of Scratchman Apoo.
-
what an epic chapter
so many win moment here
Rosinante says his clumsyness is a lie while he burning himself
law asking baby5 money to bribe buffalo
Vergo was the first corazon
clan D is the opposite of Cellestial Dragon [God] ( now we know about D a little it's a clan).make me wonder why did the marine let Garp enlist in the first place, he has a freaking D in his name lol.
Rosinante is a marine agent ( i dont see this coming )
and the whole jouney for the cure ( that's just sad man )this chapter just awesome

Then he must feel lucky since Roci is dead.

It's very interesting that both donq bros have the best fruits so far to manipulate people, pulling strings and not saying/talking/hear.
Very good chapter of an amazing fb, in one of the best op arc.
-
Such an awesome chapter! But all this arc is being awesome so !
BTW-i don't think Law is searching revenge, he is doing it because he promised something to Corazon, or at least he said so if i remember correctly.
-
Roci's duty was to stop Doffy, Law is carrying that promise.
Revenge is a nice motivation tho -
But are people seriously fine with Law defeating the big bad of this arc? i mean we have been in the new world for years and Luffy has yet to show of his true power against a proper adversary.
-

It's not about luffy alone anymore. In the new world either you go under yonkou's wing or ally with others. Law took care of Vergo at PH, and his story with DD is too deep for luffy to take care of his problems and main enemy.
Law has to play a role in DD's defeat, and no, kick the as* of trebol doesn't count.
-
Who are we kidding, we're gonna see this finish with a big fat Gomu Gomu no F*U to the face like always.
-

Luffy will deliver the finisher yeah, but Law might still help a bit. Though Law will probably be more occupied with Trebol this time around

Have your enemy close to you and you actually can watch them
-
Honestly, I see Luffy's yonkou battles being team ups with other supernova (Except for Blackbeard obviously, and maybe Shanks depending on whether or not Luffy gets a chance to fight him)
-

About Rosiante not telling Sengoku about Vergo, I can accept an involontary omission from someone who's so distracted/clumsy that he regularly lights itself on fire and trips on pebbles…
-
Reread it in the mangastream translation. Just.. what a great chapter. I also kinda wanted it to be a Doflamingo family colorspread. Also, thinking about it aside the Greek mythology thing it also could be the simple devil and god thing. I just really want to see more about the Ancient Kingdom and the Ds.
-
That facial expression of Corazon at the end really cracked me up.
-

Well, i'm fine with it because it seems quite obvius that it won't be about Luffy alone anymore-the alliances will play a role .
But i don't think Law will defeat DD alone -they are fighting in two- Law will have the bigger role in defeating him but he knew from the start he couldn't do it alone. -
I really hope that Kureha heals Law. After all she's a pretty famous doctor and Corazon and Law will enter the Grand Line soon, being desperate as they are
That's a possibility. She has knowledge of Ds, we might find out how she knows Roger's real name. But I think Corazon and Law are heading back to DD and Law's life will be saved by the Ope Ope fruit with Corazon's last efforts. Yet we can't get comfortable predicting Oda.

That'll explained it somehow

This is like saying "Nami will defeat Arlong in the end" when reading Arlong Park. Luffy's job is protecting other people, and he will kick Dofla's ass for Law this time.
-
Kureha is way too young to be in this flashback.
-

What about sabo and even FUJITORA betting "everything" on luffy? sounds like foreshadowing to me
-
In the Mangastream translation it seems that Corazon wants the D to cause a storm… But why?
And maybe he hasn't lied that he isn't a marine... Maybe he actually is doing his own stuff. The marines and WG try to keep it secret as well
-
This has to be one of the beat/most interesting flashbacks so far.
Details about the initial "D" are always welcome.
Corazon is not a Marine though he works for the Marines to keep DD in check, that's my guess and Vergo probably found that out.You know what happened then …
-
The flashback won't chance the fact that Luffy will be the one beating the crap out of the big bad Joker.
-

It may be that Corazon realised what monster the Tenryubito are and wanted to end them
Since they're "gods" and the D's are "gods natural enemy".
-
By one of the Flashbacks I have enjoyed the most!. Law and Cora really melted my hearth in this one.
By the way, I think that Law will just have to assist in the defeat of Doffy, Luffy is already mentioned by four (even 7 counting the samurais) people to be the one to win.
-
Another brilliant chapter of this flashback. Corazon is a character. I wasn't expecting Sengoku in this flashback…. and now we have Vergo as well and the confirmation that he was the first Corazon. 10/10.
-
I wonder what made Homing decide to change sides? Purely conjecture, but perhaps he looked into the history and made contact with the Nefertari family, since their ancestors were a family who did not go to Mariejoa. That would be neat.
As for Homing's terrible decision making…. Perhaps its a case where Homing became a regular human solely because he felt it was right, and he didn't consider the dangers he'd put himself and his family in. He didn't consider those dangers because he never HAD to. Before, danger was never an issue. He could snap his finger and have someone killed. His previous ideologies prevented him from seeing danger in the real world. When real danger did occur, he runs back to that 'protection' of the celestial dragons, where everything is safe. When that doesn't work, he can only run. Danger just isn't in a Celestial Dragon's vocabulary, and that's why when it does occur, they're left completely baffled.
As for the newest chapter, I really enjoyed it. This is coming up to be one of my favorite flashbacks. One interesting thing I took note of, when Sengoku was speaking to Cora about the three children, does he mean Buffalo, Baby 5 and Law? I'm taking it as meaning that Sengoku was trying to get children away from Doflamingo's crew. That's awfully kind of him.
-

Well there is that comment (forgot where) Doffy saying Law's angry over a misunderstanding :ninja:
Kureha is way too young to be in this flashback.
I had to do a double take to get your subtle sarcasm there. Kureha would be pleased by the comment though
-
I'm not a big fan of Law but this brought the feels, and Oda has done an amazing job making me love Corazon in only a couple chapters
-
As much information as came with this chapter, it was the little things that really got to me. Rosi igniting after Law threw him into a dumpster, Baby 5's first "he need's me" in flashback, the sounds of Rosi tripping over himself in the distance as Law cries, and finally Law's hair being completely obscured by his hat in the latter panels… things like that are what interest me so much about this manga. You can tell how much Oda plans, but it's still fascinating to see how much he manages to get into his manga in such a short amount of time. It's like he sees a space and must fill it! So you know that if you get caught up for the long run of this story, you will be getting answers by the end of it. One way or another, they will be there.
-
That'll explained it somehow
Indeed but it still seems silly to me that Vergo doesn't bother to do something as basic as actually changing his name
-
I like how that this part of the flashback Law feels more like a side character in it, I like how it showed off the growing relationship between Law and Cora-san. I like how Dolflamingo's past and actions doesn't excuse why he is so messed up, but as some else said explained it shows why he is like that. I'm starting to enjoy Cora-san as a character. He's fantastic and I'm going to miss him when He's dead.
-
Fun fact: after 6 months, Law is used to being carried around by Cora-san. Luffy dragging him at arm's length on Dressrosa must truly have felt nostalgic
