We're all used to video game companies being assholes.
Konami isn't being an asshole. Konami is being self-destructive.

Which is why this thread isn't the "KONAMI SUCKS thread" thread

Sooooo what are Snake's chances of getting into smash now
@Purple:
Sooooo what are Snake's chances of getting into smash now
Surprisingly still more likely than Ridley
Apparently the stock market delisting was announced back in November so it's not related to whatever else has been going on with them. (source)
Still looks pretty embarrassing happening the same time as the cancellation of a project that seemed to have everything going for it.
Konami killed Suikoden so I couldn't care less about them, I haven't played a MGS game since PS2.

As we speak, Kojima, Sakurai, and David Hayter are currently infiltrating Konami Headquarters to retrieve Big Boss's Phantom Pain render.
Stolen from Fark:
"Did you all hear about the new Konami code? it's "↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ Until There's Nothing ← To Select"
So can they sell the Silent Hill franchise rights to someone else so that it doesn't die with them. Please?
It will be THQ all over again.
It will be THQ all over again.
Difference is that Konami apparently has other ways of bringing in revenue besides making new entries in stagnant series, THQ didn't.
Konami has been making some really shitty business decisions as of late . I was extremely excited for the new Silent Hill game with Kojima being involved and adding his twist to horror games but sadly Konami had to go and fuck all that up for some reason . Seriously i am not even gonna bother with Konami after Phantom Pain comes out .
Fans of SuperBunnyHop may have already seen this, but for everyone else:
As he says, there is no tangible evidence of any of this, so take it all with a grain of salt.
Jim sterling also made a new konami related vid

Yes but if they're getting out of the game publishing they'll likely sell off their IP since it's actually worth something now - in 10 years time it will be worth next to nothing if they hold onto it but don't release any games.

Ehhh they could outsource it if they REALLY want to. Much like they already did with Silent Hill and Castlevania…..both met with "meh" receptions.

Outsourcing still means they're publishing - Selling all their IP is really one of the few profitable things they could do in the next few years they'd make a fortune. You'd have a 3 way fight from Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft trying to buy them all up together.

I don't think any of them three would try and buy a Konami ip tbh (actually maybe sony would try and grab metal gear). It would be other major Japanese publishers like sega and namco trying to grab a couple of the bigger ips.
Platinum buys Zone of the Enders, they hire Kojima to do all the hype as fuck trailers. A boy can dream

Mobile gaming is still huge for them, so that's unlikely.

Microsoft would sink Konami in money to get a hold of its IP for Exclusive XBOX titles to help it take over the Japanese/Asia market.
I would seem that Konami is getting it's own equivalent of Might No. 9.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Knight
It seems to be a Metroidvania type deal. Our main character is the new Alucard: Miriam. Her father, Gabel, is the host of a cursed magicrystal that gives him the ability to summon demons and control them. In hopes to create a home for both himself and his daughter, he created an enormous castle to guard the two. However, the more Gabel used the magicrystal, the more the magicrystal began to control him.

So Gabel is Dracula, basically. The designs could be better. Miriam looks like a splice between Amy from Soul Calibur and Shanoa from Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. Her story evens sounds like Amy's.
Neato. I've been craving a new Castlevania for a while now. Of course, this is another situation of a Kickstarter, though.
Kojima is going begin a kickstarter for Iron Axel, a MSX SNES throwback stealth game where the secret agent Rock Salamander infiltrates the country of Swahili Land run by the dictator/mercenary warlord Grande Jefe.

here is the kickstarter too
It looks pretty good
You know, I really like that Stained Glass design. Not enough to shell out $2500 but I do really like it. Well, you can't get blood out of a stone…
YES! Michiru Yamane is doing the music! Immediately sold! Infinitely sold! If I had the money to help right now, I would, but I want this so much.

$850,000 to get David Hayter a new job

"What is a man?"
"A man, huh..."
I hope the graphics are far away from the concept art. I don't like it.
I don't like the whole Kickstarter, to be honest. No gameplay, them only needing the campaign to get a real publisher, the tier exclusive content…
$900,000 Stretch Goal: Kiefer Sutherland
Man, I hate when people think Alucard is the main character of the Castlevania series.

They're probs just going by equivalents to SotN characters rather than the casatlevania franchise as a whole, seeing as the game will probably mostly similar to a Castlevania game that Igarashi made that brought him critical acclaim
It looks helluva lot better than the Castlevania reboot. XD

In other news Konami decided to block SuperBunnyhops video on the Kojima debacle, essentially confirming themselves as the disney villain in this story
Someone has uploaded a mirror of the original for any curious as to what the video was:
! New title to the video too
And David Hayter is there.
That is cool.
Someone tell Igarashi that David Hayter can and has accepted getting his pay cut do to voice work.
WHAT IS A KONAMI?!
Iga's kickstarter is now funded.
took less then three hours to fund a game konami refused to make
A Silent Hills thread that turns into a Fuck Konami thread and then it turns into a thread about Igasaki's Kickstarter game is something amazing.
Iga Kounters Konamis Klusterfuck thread: Demon Castle Nosferatu: Rondo of Schadenfreude
Wait, did I read that shit right?
Egoraptor was hanging around with Iga?
I thought Egoraptor hated the 'RPG-ish' Castlevania games.
$220,000 'til Hayter.
"Jonathan? Charlotte?? JONATHAN?! CHARLOTTE?!?!"
So how long before Sonic gets a spiritual successor too?
I'd donate towards a kickstarter to put Sonic down :ninja:
I don't like the name.
I love everything else.
So how long before Sonic gets a spiritual successor too?
It kinda already happened.

So how long before Sonic gets a spiritual successor too?
Its called "Freedom Planet". Its already out on steam and hitting the Wii U in a few months. Great game, tons of levels and paths, good music, all the characters play very different and more are coming. Just… skip the story mode.
EDIT: What Kage said right above me.
Welp backed my first kickstarter with this one, definitely hoping things shape up well for it in the coming dev time.

I was wondering where the hell this thread came from.
