Oda will tell most of their story through flashback at the end of this arc.

After Dof is defeated and Birdcage disappears: Nami and co will be able to contact Luffy and the rest through Den Den Mushi -telling them that they made it to Zou but Sanji was captured while helping them get away. Then a short flashback to the incident bla bla bla.

•Onwards to Zou to regroup, a little adventure of sorts on their way to crash the Tea Party.
Or something.

I hope they bump into Kidd, Hawkins and Apoo beforehand.

But I'd rather their Alliance handle Big Mam rather than Law n Luffy tho.

The way I see it: One big cluster fuck when it comes to Kaido and Big Mom. All of the original supernovas, plus new Marine HQ involved.

Result: Marines and Supernovas take down two Yonkou, but not each other. Kaido and Big Mom are immediatly publicly executed, to show that Sakazuki means business.

During that, Blackbeard takes down Shanks. Hard. Perhaps with Mihawk included, who has been hiding from the marines on his old friend/rival island after Fujitora succeded in his goal.

People new age focuses around: Luffy, Blackbeard, Sakazuki, perhaps Kid.

Or rather, that's my wishful thinking.

So another bad moment for sanji, while zoro gets hype with everything he does? What's the point of monster trio anymore, should just call it monster duo.

Even if big mom is on the ship, we saw Post TS SH are not bugs to admirals/yonkous anymore, sanji should at least man age to escape.

The Worst Generation Supernova are not like the other Supernova. Those 11 guys have been hinted to be the leaders of the New Age of Piracy. If Oda hadn't something big planned for all 11 of them, he wouldn't have made them 11.

What does panel time has anything to do with it?

If you want to use screentime as an argument, then Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, Robin, Franky and Law all probably have more screentime than Fujitora and they're all pirates. There's also Bartolomeo, Cavendish and Don Chinjao, who are pirates too. Fucking Sanji probably has more screentime too and he's been gone for +20 chapters.

And then there's Doula Mongo himself.

Even if they don't have more screentime, that still makes an arc with +10 relevant pirate characters, against 1 relevant Marine.

I don't know if it's the heart of the debate, but I think the Old Gambler is just as important as Mingo to Dressrosa.
They fought Law together.
Doffy had a brief fight with Sanji, Fuji with Zoro.
Viola considers them to be equally responsible of the situation in Dressrossa.
Now Issho is fighting Sabo and his brother will soon(or not) reach Donqui.
Not to mention their "struggle" in the hall of suits.
Though I'm sure only of them will be defeated at the end of the arc.

Like every group in OP, lesser relevant or non-canon characters are all destined to lose against a relevant character without even being able to make a scratch.
I assume the arguement is more focused on vice-admirals (like it seems to be for a while now, but i can be mistaken there) which seem to gravitate more and more towards the relevant characters, but who can barely do a scratch to the main protagonists, which are in most cases the one they fight..pirates.
I definitely see that tendency recently, but i wouldnt be to puzzled over this. Marines like Momonga or some from the Buster Call sure showed that they are respectable fighters. I personally have really high hopes for Onigumo, who i hope turns out to be a worthy opponent. Non the less many VA were shown to go down really fast, but that is most of the time because they were just used to showcase other characters.(Maynard -Barto..Bastille - Sabo) So that obviously leaves the impression by most OP readers, that VA might not be considered strong-tier, but thats a fate also many pirates had already ( Rossio - Bellamy, Supernovae - Kizaru)
So it depends on which characters are introduced and there are of course stronger guys around than VA, but that happens in the same amount to pirates.

Straw Hats, Emperors, Warlords, Supernovas (+ crewmates). And this is not including miscellanous pirates like Kuro and Don Krieg.

Any pirate over 100.000.000 would be considered a "Super Rookie". What makes the 11 Supernovas + Blackbeard different is that most of the major conflicts that have occurred during their rookie year and after seem to revolve around them. They're also unique because any one of them have a shot of becoming Pirate King and inspiring a whole new generation of pirates to come. They're clearly different than your cookie cutter pirate, and even different than other "Super Rookies" like the Caribou Brothers or Bartolomeo. Oda's definitely made an effort to differentiate them from others, as well as to set them up to do great things story-wise.

It's why I love the supernovas as much as I do. They're all "heroes of another story" who had their own adventures while Luffy was having his. They grew and added people to their crew just like he did, and the amount of chaos we've been told they've caused in the NW is a great stage for Luffy and them to enter.

You'll get a few things here and there, but the chapter thread eventually devolves into something else entirely. It's going to get worse with this one due to there being a break next week.

As far as Darth hoping for the Marines to take on of the Yonkous, and the Kidd alliance to take the others out, there are two major problems for hoping for that, and it's not just due to the fact it's just Oda. In any piece of good fiction, a faction that has just been built up is not going to be taken off like nothing. If we find out that these two factions beat a Yonkou off screen, both that have been hyped up, that will be a terrible thing to do. Second problem that goes with the first is that these two are being built up to take on Luffy, with help from various people, such as Law and what we can assume is the Kidd alliance. I know you want them to do more, but expecting that from any author is setting yourself for disappointment.

As for being a Fleet Admiral, he won't be able to just go out to fight when he wants to. He leads the entire Marines, so he's more in the background calling the shots. Why is Fujitora there? He sent him there. Akainu won't be showing off everything he can do because if he goes out and gets offed by a Yonkou or a strong crew, the Marines will not have a person to lead them, and it will be left in disarray. Like you, we are waiting to see the true effects of his rule, which will happen after this arc is over.

Let's stop talking about the damn Marines for once, and talk about the chapter, or if that's not enough, make predictions about what will happen from here on, or if that doesn't float your boat, talk about the good and bad of the arc. If none of those suit you, find a different conversation to talk about on the 1000's of other threads we have on this site.

Actually, there is very little to talk about when it comes to chapter. People getting in places, and that's basicaly it. Oh, and Riku putting dwarfs in tiny cells.

A) Who is talking about off-screen?

B) Who is talking about Kid? I said supernovas. Luffy was a supernova last time I checked.

Out of them, the top three are Luffy, Kid, & Law. Oda showed them over the others at SA, even though at that time, Law was 5th in the top ranking of bounties with Hawkins' bounty above his.
