Is this really foreshadowing? In the first case, Bellamy is suggesting that the bounties are fake. In the second, we have people pretending to be other people who have real bounties. It's kind of different, right?

Ah dang… when we talk of Usopp's lies coming true, we usually forget what he's said as a kid and so totally forget that!
Nice catch!
Before writing "One Piece", Oda worked as an assistant to Nobuhiro Watsuki, the creator of "Rurouni Kenshin".

How is that foreshadowing of anything?! It seems more like a reference or homage .
It can't be a reference or homage if it was drawn before One Piece existed.
Edit: My bad, that's not true.

Oda invented Skull Joke before One Piece!

That chapter came out once One Piece already began circulation.
There's a lot of information in this image!
The bones which are the main entrance of Grand line from the four Seas.
The ropes which is the Travel of the mugiwaras.
Of course the main part is GrandLine with New World separated by Red Mountain (Luffy)
The blue lines up and down are calm belt
The "E" letter which is a Anchor means the End of the travel!
Mind=Blown. Oda seriously does nothing without some sort of deeper meaning to it!
Dunno if anyone caught this but…
Foreshadowed a few races, dwarves, longlegs, etc.

I bet you'd feel pretty silly if you were wrong.
I'd like to add one though, not sure if this has been already mentioned.

"People are hearts" basically. Law's powers to switch their personality (/identity/mind/character) was visually shown with their hearts.

What exactly does that thread have to do with the manga subforum. Not that I'm criticizing its creation, but the mods want order (I suppose), and that thread didn't fit the criteria of that order. What if I were to create a thread about basketball in the manga forum? That thread would be locked as soon as the mods see it. The same logic applies to that thread. If another thread similar too it were to be created, maybe it's best off in the general discussion thread. Yes. That would give the thread less purpose, as it wouldn't act as a buffer to the spoiler section, but at least spoiler group therapy could continue else where without the possibility of mod intervention.

Maybe Mr. skeleton wasn't talking about what you said, but how you said it.

Despite his black and white, quick to insult post, MK's not wrong. My explanation on how it could be a foreshadowing wasn't very good at all and normally what I posted isn't a foreshadowing but something Oda just added onto. So I would like to take another crack at explaining on how it is one though.
Sanji told Mr. 2 that people are not defined based on what they look like on the outside but by their hearts. Shortly after, Sanji couldn't kick Mr. 2 with Nami's face so as serious as he was when he said it, one can argue that was just a lie but it did serve some purpose which is very like OP. That moment served as a warning to the readers that something as cliche (but indicative) as "People are hearts" would come back as a more plausible explanation to another event that's set up in the future - which is Law's ability to switch non-physical things as people's "minds". Of course, one can argue that is just a part of Law's ability which is similar to Kuma deflecting the pain of others but there's two clear questions that arises from that: "Why is it shown as cliche cartoony hearts?" and "If their 'minds' are switched, why was it shown as hearts?"
In short, whether or not Oda hasn't thought of Punk Hazard or even Law at that time doesn't make it a foreshadowing. Believing/establishing that indeed "people are hearts" in the world of One Piece and possibly already thinking of a technique that is similar to Mr. 2 does (course I can't prove that but it is something Oda-like).
I'm surprise that nobody have yet to post about Ussop's 8k followers lie to be true.. Guess Oda's going to keep making Ussop's lies happen..

It'll come but a few chapters ago pretty much everyone predicted it would happen.

I know, I'm new to this One Piece forum and I'm not sure how it counts as foreshadowing , but correct me if I'm wrong, didn't Hawkins predicted Brownbeard's fate as having the shadow of Death. Hawkins is probable using his Tarot card knowledge about Death to mean physical death. Hence, why he attacked he saw his victory. Which, is wrong since the Death Tarot card means transformation and change. I think it foreshadows Brownbeard's "Death" by one of the Yeti bros as well as his physical transformation and change from a arrogant pirate to a humble nice dude.

Hawkins only used Tarot cards in the anime. We don't know if he also used them in manga.
But guess it's a possibility.

He was seen using them at end of the war,
But in your favor, they do not look like classic tarot cards… but they are used that way

I think he did use them when meeting Brownbeard

It certainly looked like he was using something similar cards when he was waiting for Kid and Killer to get to their Alliance meeting .
I think, the foreshadow of Brownbeard's fate was explained in weird way. Ya gotta have knowledge of tarot card meanin' to figure that as I typed before, Death doesn't mean physical death. And as Katzztar showed , Hawkins is a tarot card user.
I dont know if that is foreshadowing or anything like that but I wanted to point out that Sanji always lands using left leg after using Sky Walk
!
! here it means for me that its not like Sanji was avoiding landing on right leg because of Vergo cracking his bone(as I thought when I was reading that chapter), rather because Sanji always lands using left leg.
!
At the moment, We can only speculate what Birdcage is exactly right ?. Well, I'm debating rather or not this counts as speculation, crazy fan theory or Me realizing that this is foreshadowing.
During the Vergo vs Law fight Dolflamingo mentioned that Vergo did to Law something terrible. Well, I think Dolflamingo foreshadowed "Birdcage" back then because of how shocked Law look in the current chapter.

It's most likely a DF technique so Vergo couldn't have done that. He just beat Law up the old-fashioned way. Tough both instances will come in the upcoming Law flashback.
Well, I think that birdcage is what Dolflamingo used in the beat down Vergo gave to Law . Like something that is used in close combat to entrap people and I do agree that its' a devil fruit technique technique of Mingo's. I've change my mind slightly, the foreshadowing just might be in the comment Mingo said to Law about the beat down Law had gotten. And I agree, there is most likely going to be a flashback of the fight in the upcoming chapters. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
Has anyone mentioned that island that 'rained lightening'? that Nami read about while on Weatheria was a foreshadowing of Raijin Island?
Some fan wrote into SBS and asked about it and Oda confirmed it in SBS vol 69
[hide]D: Before the timeskip (in volume 61), Nami was reading a book on Weatheria and said, “An island where it rains lightning!” This lightning island… could it be where the G-5 ship had stopped in chapter 655 of volume 66? Please tell me! If you don’t, I’ll do the “pew pew pew”!! P.N.- P.S. I love Law
O: “Pew pew pew!!”… don’t make fun of the beam!! But that’s right. It’s one of the three islands that the needles pointed to (the first needle to be exact), from Fishman Island, and the one that Luffy wanted to go to most. It’s the island where it rains lightning, Raijin Island. Near the end of volume 60, it’s also the island that Urouge was headed for. Although Smoker’s intuition about Luffy’s mentality was spot-on, the Sunny Go met with the Whitestrom and ended up at the unmarked island, Punk Hazard. If they had gone to Raijin Island, I wonder what kind of adventures the Strawhats might have had?

The way Oda phrases that makes me think that a Raijin Island arc will be unlikely to happen, unfortunately.

The crew sailed around it when they went to Punk Hazard and then to Dressrosa. To go to Raijin would be backtracking and so far, Oda hasn't had the crew do that without good reason …. like nearly getting killed/arrested by Kizaru and Kuma coming to rescue the crew by means of sending them flying to separate island and they had to make their way back to SA separately... so that was really wasn't a case of " backtrack sailing" .
Never mind the last part , the only important part is that Oda never really had the SHs sail backwards to an island the logpose already pointed to that they passed by
Just found this on a german One Piece forum:
Left Picture is from the colorspread of chapter 520, where Ace was still alive, right one from chapter 574, where Ace dies:
Luffy draws a card with Brook (skull = symbol for death) and has a clearly highlighted card in his hand, the Ace of Spades. Ace was the Captain of the Spade pirates, so it's a clear connection to him.
And Luffy disappointed face for drawing the bad card looks really similar to the one he made when Ace actually died.

I can't agree with the resemblance, but the card thing might be foreshadowing.
If the went to the lighting island, Luffy might of been the only one who could walk around freely. Would of been pretty interesting.
Whenever Urouge becomes a part of the story again (if ever) I think we'll at least get a short glimpse of what the island is like. But like you've all said, I don't see Oda backtracking when there are so many other important plot points that need to be addressed.
!
If you squint real hard, Luffy's pose looks like Gear Second.
