      @Florent:

      Version OP COLOR of VIZ?? Where please Hans Landa?

      Just the B/W-Version as of yet I'm afraid 😕 And I can't even purchase it legally since it's region locked… Same source as the one you just posted 🙂

      Hmm… works fine for me (just tested it again)

      I think you need the newest WinRAR-Version (5.x), it's packed as RAR5 iirc^^

      Here's finally the missing first pages of Volumes 01-82:
      Link.
      pw: <3OP
      Uploading them here should be fine, since they don't really contain any Pages of the actual manga, also they are available as free preview on any of the sales websites.

      I still don't know a better technique to rip the pages, so I zoomed in (2x), screenshot and cropped them, stitched them together and resized them to the known 1200px format.

      However there's some issues I had with that process:
      I ripped them from ebookjapan and when zoomed in (without zooming in my full HD screen didn't have enough resolution to achieve 1200px) there are 2 pixels of greyed area at the edges. For most pages this didn't matter at all, with some I just cut it off (so there's like 0,5 pixels of the 760 in width missing, which doesn't really matter either), but a few 2-page-spreads I couldn't join properly…

      Meaning Volume 12 Pages 008-009 (Colorspread of Chapter 100) and Volume 18 Pages 008-009 (Colorspread Chapter 156) can't be properly joined, because there is a huge area missing in the middle (all versions, ebookjapan, amazon, the existing volumes...).
      Volume 14 and 15 Pages 004-005 (The Story of One Piece) have the issue with the grey bars, maybe someone with decent photoshop skills can fix that?!

      And for Volume 70 Pages 007-010 (Colorspread Chapter 691 & Film Z): Merging them didn't quite fit together but tilting the leftmost part slightly downward resulted in a decent image, but it is now slightly tilted...

      As to the author's notes: I put them together from different versions, mostly full cover scans of the volumes and the newer ones with the extra page of the OPDCC version. The frist ones are all different, some in better, some in worse resolution and size... The ones from OPDCC I don't like though since they are really small in size and are hard to read when there's lots of text on them...

      Enjoy anyway!

      @Nisemono:

      Italian guys obviously use some filters, mainly increasing contrast, more vibrant colours.

      But the problem with Digital Colored RAWs from the Big 3 (One Piece, Naruto & Bleach) has always been the same. Is it 1200px the best resolution we can have? Or there is a way to ripped them in a higher one?

      Some girl is doing Death Note DCR and she has some awesome resolution (mainly the newest ones, previous has double page and a weird frame around). Quite inconsistently releases, tho.

      http://albasti.tumblr.com/tagged/DN-colour-edition-volumes

      It doesn't look good to me though; I'm pretty sure, she just screencapped and edited the pages together but didn't resize it. It's as good/bad a quality as our OPDCC version and the extra resolution doesn't really make it better image quality…
      There's rips of the english VIZ version of OP B/W in 3056px resolution and they look just stunning. If we could ever get this quality for OPDCC it'd be a dream.

    • RE: One Piece digital-colored chapters by Shueisha v2

      @Captain:

      I've got most of the digital japanese set via booklive. Amazon's interface can be a pain when you don't know the language, but that one was pretty simple. No VPN or Japanese proxy required either, I just hit the buttons, entered my details and purchased them. I've ripped the endpages for my own offline archive using the method I described, but I'm not in the business of manga ripping or piracy. I don't have anything set up to protect my details or location, and I'd rather see the series supported, so I won't be putting anything I've ripped online for consumption. I hope you understand. Let someone better versed in the risks of posting so many pages worth of stolen content do that instead.

      Between that and the scans that exist, the only pages I've been truly unable to find are the volume 60 UGP and the final page of volume 64's voice actor SBS, plus that volumes UGP. Whoever scanned those older volumes simply didn't care for anything after the last comic page within the book. All in all about 20 pages of content missing between the two of them, and as best I can tell, the only way I could access the raws for those pages would be to import physical copies of those two volumes.

      It's a shame to hear your preferred language's official release is so lacking. The intro image seems an odd thing to cut, if I'm honest. This is the German version, right?

      At least the only thing really gone from the English version is the UGP, and that's probably the least important volume extra to begin with (not counting the ads at the back). If there's an illustration on the back sepia cover we'll even usually get that as an endpage. I guess you could argue that we don't get dust jackets, but I'll never understand what the Japanese see in putting dust jackets on paperbacks to begin with. The ideal solution would be to put the sepia image on the inside of the cover instead, like they're doing with The Promised Neverland, but that's something I can ultimately live without.

      Thanks, I'll try that.
      Registering was in fact easy, but since my bank account is currently not the prettiest and since I currently don't have a credit card (and don't know what WebMoney or BitCash are), purchasing will most likely have to wait some time…
      How can you read them after the purchase? On your smartphone? In your webbrowser? Can you download them locally (since they might block not-japanese accounts in the future...) And have you purchased them all?

      The screenshot method is working great btw, it just takes forever, taking 2 screenshots for each page and then editing it, luckily I have currently holidays 😄

      And yes, it's the german version... I still purchased the digital versions of the newer (beginning after the timeskip) volumes, since they are at least proper digital versions and might be improved. I also buy every special volume, that might be unavailable in the future (eg. cover walks, though there are only the first two in German and the first can only be found on ebay...), for the other volumes I still hope for a improved 2nd print ...

      Dusk jackets are pretty common btw in Germany for hardcover books, and other Manga publishers have used them for their releases, but not CarslenManga (One Piece publisher). The special Volume Z for instance was released alongside the limited edition BluRay of Film Z and is by the anime publisher (Kazé), they used the dusk jacket as well and its really nice 🙂 (I immediately bought it of course even though I have the movie already on my hard drive in 1080p and don't even have a BluRay player 😄

      @Dincht: I already grabbed your version when it was still up, great work first of all!
      But it has the same issue that for all older volumes the speical pages such as TOC, SBS, UGP etc. are not included...

      @Captain:

      The best idea I can think of is taking two screenshots, zoomed in (the readers on booklive.jp and ebookjapan zoom a lot easier than the amazon one) and stitch them together before resizing the final image down to what all the other pages are.

      But of course, if you want complete digital rips, you'll have to keep in mind that they haven't just added the front pages to the older volumes, but also a set of end pages including the inside flap of the dust jacket, including Oda's message, an image of the spine, and the sepia toned version of the cover from under the dust jacket. Also the back cover the under the jacket illustrations for the volumes that have them. All the same stuff that's been in the colour version upfront since volume 71. But since most of those are at the back, you can't get them in the previews. The only way you'll be screencapping those is with a purchase.

      And of course, neither the black and white or colour versions of the digital volumes include the SBS or fanart sections for any volume before v71. I live in hope of them being added eventually. I've filled the gaps in my offline version with pages for physical scans, but there's a couple of pages from a couple of volumes that have simply never made it onto the internet as far as I can tell.

      Thanks a lot, I'll try that. Just using an image grabber on amazon.jp worked as well, but only with a resolution of 600x918, which is of course 25% worse than the 1200p version we're used to.

      As for the other pages that are included at the end: I did the same you did and added them from physical scans, since most of those are available (I thing all SBS, UGP, cover jackets can be found, but several sepia inside covers are indeed missing…).

      I am furthermore hoping of someday purchasing all volumes in the way it's meant to be purchased via my countrys publisher. But so far only physical copies (which are worse than the japanese ones since dusk jackets, sepia inside covers, intro image and text, the original UGP are all missing).
      There's also the digital version, but it still lacks the same features as the physical volumes and the early volumes are even just scans of the german volumes and not even reallly digital...

      So I'll still have to do the work myself 😄

      Or is there an easier way nowadays to buy the DC version in Japan? I know there was a way too complicated workaround to buy them no matter where you live, but thats to much efford for me -.-

      Can someone tell me a good way, to grab the images from the source?

      Just taking a screenshot is probably worse quality, since the volumes are in 760x1200, but my screen is only 1920x1080.

      I just went through the volumes and noticed, that for most volumes the first few pages are missing (TOC, intro image, character presentation etc) in color, but can easily be previewed for free on amazon.jp for example…

    • RE: Volume 82 Predictions/Discussion

      @gilgaladviola91:

      @onepiece_kun on Twitter posted about three changes in the volume. Maybe someone can explain the differences? :happy: https://twitter.com/onepiece_kun/status/749990749265989633 https://twitter.com/onepiece_kun/status/749991101398786048 https://twitter.com/onepiece_kun/status/749991261713494018

      In the first one he changed the pronunciation for "石工" from "いしく" to "せつこう" (top left of the speech bubble). Don't know the differnece tho^^

    • RE: One Piece Color Walk 7, on sale in 4th July 2016

      It's the same in Germany:
      the first two Color Walks have been translated with the first one being out of sale for quite some time now. Had to get my copy off of ebay for twice the original selling price…
      Still worth it, they look really amazing!
      As for future translations: I was told the first two were a colaboration of the french, german, italian and maybe other publishers of One Piece which was necessary since the bigger format in color and on better paper was more expensive while the sale expectations were much lower, so they printed for all of Europe.
      Since the Color Walk 2 is still available in Germany it seems true that they sell not that well, so future releases are at the moment unlikey T.T

    • RE: One Pace

      @Shogunreaper:

      Why didn't you resize the screenshots to be the same resolution? Hard to do a direct comparison.

      Not entirely sure what you're meaning…
      Firstly: I just copy-pasted the images from the original thread post of the project and didn't edit or reupload them of course.
      Then regarding the screenshots: they should be the same size (960x720) and are just there to show, what the upscale looks like.
      If you're talking about the screen comparison: resizing the images would destroy the entire purpose of the comparison since it would also chance the quality of the images. I get your problem, but when you compare a DVD image to a bluray image of a movie in order to show the difference in quality you don't downsize the bluray image either just to make it easier to keep track of parts of the image and make a better comparison.
      Anyways, just as I said, I merely reuploaded the links I found myself 🙂

    • RE: One Pace

      Don't think you guys know about this, but there is currently a german fan project by group KUC NG running with the aim to produce the best quality of One Piece Anime.
      They upscale all SD episodes to really good looking HD, include 3 audio tracks: german, english and japanese and of course 2 subtitle tracks: english and german. Needless to say it's all uncut 😉
      Here's a few screens of their upscale:

      !

      And here's a screen comparison (mouse over to see their version): DVD vs KUC NG
      So far they have done episodes 1-110 and release 1 more every week (sometimes more).
      Their source is the english Funimation DVD, here's a small Media info (unfortunately only x264, I really like your x265 😆😞
      ! Quellmaterial: Englische UT DVD
      Sprache: Deutsch, Englisch, Japanisch
      Untertitel: Deutsch, Englisch
      Länge: ~ 23 Min. pro Folge
      Größe: ~ 300 MB
      ! Auflösung: 976x720 "resized" | Ab Folge 207: ….
      Format: MPEG-4 (.mp4) | Codec: x264
      Audio: AAC
      Bitrate Video: ~ 1400 Kbps
      Bitrate Audio: ~ 160 Kbps
      Since I really enjoy your paced version, desite the lackluster SD quality (not your fault, since it's the source quality) but also enjoy the german dub, I was wondering if you could use this really nice material for your early episodes?!
      (I'm not sure wether you need an account or not to view the thread: PM me for DL-Links on SO and UL)
