I know it isn't going to happen, seeing how nearly all the Straw hats, present on Dressora are matched up, at this point, it seems, but I hope all the Straw hats experience defeat before taking down their enemies. Let get my point more clear. I don't feel the exposition, all of the flashbacks, character reveals, and what not has been voluminous enough to rush to the final battles, the climax, of the arc. Please don't hate me for this, but I want Zoro to be incapacitated by Pika, Luffy to lose to Dofla, and Franky succumbing to Bastille, Senor Pink, and Machvise. The arc needs some breathing room to get its crap together, and I believe starting the final battles at this point to be a poor idea on Oda's part. EDIT: Why Is this Chapter titled 'Please' exactly? I'm lost.
I like your idea, and believe it or not, it also crossed my mind. . .but things are too much in motion right now. The Sugar situation just can't be stretched out that much considering the floor is already full of dwarves' beaten bodies that bet everything on THIS PARTICULAR MOMENT, and massive amounts of emphasis have been put particularly on that: this moment, now or never, our only chance, it has to end right here right now, we're betting it all on this moment, etc etc. . .
And once Sugar is taken out the arc enters the final stage. The combo of all the Colosseum fighters and the old soldiers of Dressrosa being turned back into humans + all the citizens recovering their memories + (quite possibly) marines ceasing to help Dofla and his croonies and maybe even going after him = Dofla is cornered. With that scenario in mind, I seriously doubt Oda can make the main characters lose, re-group, camp for the night, and attempt a second assault the morning after.
For better or worse, Dressrosa has been pretty frantic from the get go and with very little room for breathing and a "time limit" almost set in stone, I don't think now of all times is everything going to be put on a halt.
You guys do know Robin and Chopper hasn't had their crew "number" chapter titles yet right? [[URL="http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Chapters_and_Volumes"]link] First(Zoro), Fourth(Sanji), Second(Nami), Third and Seventh(Usopp and Franky), Eight(Brook) are there but not Fifth(Chopper) and Sixth(Robin). Think of that as you will~
You know, I thought while they were listening to the country's background story how Robin reacted particularly angrily at it, and I thought that this could be the arc where Robin would finally get her "The Sixth" chapter. The similarities with Alabasta, where she was part of the bad guys, could be a chance for her to put her past finally behind her and get a heroic moment. . .But now the scenario has somewhat changed.
The thing is, Robin being toyified and forgotten by his crewmates seem like a great chance for Oda to play on that for some drama and when she comes back and something happens inbetween she might get her numbered chapter. . .But, seeing how frantically things are moving? I think her being a toy will probably get downplayed and not much drama will come out of it, seeing how we're running outta time, so it would feel quite anticlimactic to give her a numbered chapter just cause she was a toy and forgotten by her comrades for 4 or 5 chapters tops, which will also probably not be the main focus of said chapters but more of a secondary detail thrown into the mix.
But still, it's super weird seeing how after Ennies Lobby and her biggest character arc she'll ever had and probably will ever have, Oda didn't include her in "the Third and the Seventh" chapter. Why not make it "the Third, the Sixth and the Seventh" when he had the chance? He obviously omited her on purpose, so he had something in mind, but what could be a more powerful moment to cement her as a SH forever and ever than that? When they reach Raftel and she finally discovers the whole void history? But then Oda would have to reserve the numbered chapters for when the SH's achieve their dreams, not when they "officialy" become SH's, and it's clearly not what he's been doing at all, otherwise "the Fourth" chapter would be when Sanji finds the All Blue, "the Eigth" would be when Brook reunites with Laboon, etc. . . and it just doesn't work like that, so. . .
. . .fuck it, I just don't know anymore. This is migraine inducing.
