Since when does Luffy cares about not hurting anyone?
And it's not about "something important". It's about something important to HIM. He's dreamed ever since he was kid of becoming a pirate, going on adventures and sailing through the toughest of all the seas and you think a veteran pirate talking about that same sea he'd be like "Yeah, whatever dude, don't care"??
Ah I meant that no one is suffering because of it. He does not make light of human life like other pirates do for exemple.
I know he respects Zeff, but he could definitely say something like : "yeah, whatever, I will see it by myself when I will be there." I do not see what your problem is, it is never near impossible. But I can understand that people think it is not. I do not share your opinion. That is it. So stop saying I do not know the character already.
@Monkey:
Hey since you guys seem to be so allergic to the wider context of the arc immediately preceding that chapter, how about we take this nice and easy and go to the PANELS directly before that panel with Luffy.
Tell me then, what prompts Luffy to mention that.
WHAT interpretation? You two have said our "reading" of direct dialogue of characters is not something you agree with. Ok. So what on earth DO you think the Baratie arc was about?
Yeah, it's not much of a source at all.
Whoever is the japanese guy who wrote the Data book, he did understand that it was foreshadowing. You can not deny the fact that one can have a different interpretation regardless from the Bratie context. And the Data book is way better source than you dude. I do not think it is absolute truth, but it is based on the same amount of evidence (reading interpretation only) than you while it is more epic XD
Again Luffy says that Zeff told him that certain (not himself) pirates called it the paradise.
