Luffy's Blade Grasp Technique was pretty awesome. Great strategy vrs an unbreakable sword.
hmm Toy Soldier was saying that the toys will try to stay by their family even after the change and being forgotten. Mr Soldier seems to have been standing guard over Rebecca So I'm guessing it is probably her father or some such, with perhaps Ricky being the grandfather.
I wonder if Bart found his fruit before or after becoming a fan of Luffy. Being a fan he must know that Luffy is rubber and that is the reason why he wasn't affected by Dragon's lightning, but he seemed to be saying it was divine providence.

I may have misunderstood, but it seemed to me like Chinjao was prostrating and accidentally fissured the area haha.
Luffy catching Durandal and not letting go was funny too.
And Luffy still eating while countering Rebecca :D
And importantly, we got Luffy indirectly interacting with Blackbeard! This could lead to something interesting, huh? I'm still hoping we don't see Luffy beating Burgess at this stage.
It's looking quite possible we'll get a properly fought out Bellamy versus Bartolomeo soon, which would be good!
We find out more about Dressrosa's dark side, and it looks like that will go towards developing Rebecca and providing some of the impetus of this arc. Looking forward to that. Speaking of which, I'm guessing the short iner-round break was just to facilitate the events of this chapter. Seems like we'll get a Block D which will give us some Rebeccempathy, though probably Cavendish will win.
Ahhh, and the Happou Navy is with Luffy now! As predicted, but it will certainly make the final battle more interesting.Oh yeah, the cover story could be heading towards Caribou becoming this Gaburu guy, them being contacted by Dragon's revolutionaries and then joining together. And Caribou telling Dragon about Poseidon? :p

I'd love that but i don't think realisticaly its too likely...

I think he meant that Lightening was divine protection from being excecuted, not protection for Lightening…
As for fruit dunno. He might be stron and own others at his slums because of fruit, or maybe he found it during his journey, im guessing its easier to find good fruit on stronger seas :P

Btw, this chapter reminds me that Luffy is kinda opposite to Ace, because he have no problems at running away, while Ace had that bad habit of standing his ground whenever someone opposes him.

I think I predicted Barto as a Luffy fan, but I expected it to be more like a Beelzebub relationship, where he was this loud thug fan-boy character who was ultimately sort of harmless.* Definitely didn't think we'd get Otakumeo, but I really did laugh at his man-crush as it was made more and more prominent. Rebecca turning on him like that was a bit silly, but the revelation of her backstory was intriguing. Also, Luffy basically has the Happou navy under his control now?! That's… so good. So very, very good. This pirate alliance is getting better all the time. Now he just needs to get Hack and Ideo in on it somehow and my hunger will be sated until I see who's cool in the final battle royale, even if I already want Cavendish to be the tsundere of the alliance. "I-it's not like I'm allied to you or anything, I just want to make sure no one else kills you first, idiot!"
Last thing, I feel like the structure will be that after D block, the champions from each block will fight one of Diamante's minions and then pair off against each other, with the winner of that going against Diamante.
*Specifically, the school that idolized the Four Kings, at the end of the beach arc.

Imo Rebecca is too weak. Strong will, but that's all. I think that if they gonna get more nakamas, then they gotta be strong enough to help against Yonkous at least. Now it's no more about having some missing positions in crew, but they need to build up their battle strength.

How people are asigned to the toy factory and the arena? I'd guess that the strong ones are sent to the arena, and the weak (or TOO strong) are turned into toys, but then, Lighting Soldier has a missing leg, like these gladiators, why did they turn him into a gladiator, and then into a toy? was he too close for comfort to the 1k wins?
I have the feeling that Ricky is a red hering, and Rebecca's father is the Lighting Soldier, It's just the no romance rule of one piece, even in these situations. And Kyros was forgotten, as the Dresrosa toy people.
