I think Oda doesn't think about geography before he writes his story. Just imagine this:
Oda: "..and then, the Strawhats go back to Fishman island while Blackbeard is invading Shanks territory.. Oh wait. No, I can't do that. I takes about X amount of days to go from the end of the new world to Fishman Island and Blackbeards confrontation with Shanks is supposed to happen in Z days. Well, I guess they will not go to Fishman island then.."
Ofcourse, Oda will try to avoid these sort of situations and if it happens, there will be some explanation why they travel there faster or slower. The main focus seems to be the story. I don't think Oda has a map of the grand line where he maps out each new island he adds and then calculates how long it takes to get there.

RE: Chapter 801: Opening Declaration
I can see Jack being defeated and washed on the shore of Zou. Something like that.

RE: Chapter 797: Rebecca
Well, essentially the whole story is filler. Oda should've just let Luffy find One Piece on Alvidas ship after he freed Coby. The rest is just not necessary anyway..

Isn't that considered cheating?

RE: Chapter 795: Suicide
Can someone explain the interaction between Sanji and Caesar in the beginning of the chapter? I didn't quite get that.
From what I can understand they escaped and now someone on their ship needs saving? -
RE: Chapter 793: The Tiger and The Dog
@Go:
Can we please discuss something less controversial? Like the possibility of Urouge/Enel team up that will take the world by storm?
I wonder what are the chances of the mysterious person being Enel. I mean, it has to be someone Urouge knows (Enel and Urouge have the same homeland if I'm not mistaking). Also, it has to be meaningful to the reader (imagine it being someone who has yet to be introduced lol). Well, it could be some kind of red herring but in my opinion that's not very likely.
If the strange person is in fact Enel, I want to know how Enel will react to a large amount of people being stronger than him. I mean, he has been living on a cloud literally like a god for years. Then he sets off to the moon, comes back and is confronted with Yonko and their crews, strong rookies, etc. I hope his skills will be more polished as his fruit and abilities actually have an enormous potential. I can't wait to see when he's going to tie back into the story.

RE: Chapter 785: Even if my legs were broken…
I think it would've been cooler if the awakening of DF was reserved for zoans. It fits their characteristics more (short-distance fighters). Hopefully not every awakened paramecia will get logia-esque attacks like Dofla.

RE: Chapter 784 : Gear Fourth
I think Gear 2 is speed/maneuverability, Gear 3 is large scale power, and Gear 4 is concentrated force. The older two still clearly have uses at this point.
The point is that I can't really see gear 4 as an alternative to the previous gears. To me it feels much more like an upgrade because for it to be just an alternative, we would have to see quick changes between gear 2,3 and 4 (we already saw combinations of gear 2 and 3 post-timeskip). I don't feel like we're going to see Luffy in gear 2 in one pannel, doing large scale destruction in gear 3 in the other, and finishing it off with a punch of concentrated force in the last. I mean, imagine Luffy going gear 4 etc, dealing some major damage and in the last moment (when the opponent is immobilized) changing back to gear 3 to deal the finishing blow (assuming gear 3 does more damage?). Visually, I think it seems unlikely he's going to change from being his bulky self in gear 4 to being his small self in gear 3. Still, I can see the point of gear 3 as large scale destruction. As for gear 2, he couldn't deal any damage to Doflamingo with it so it makes me wonder what enemies he will face where gear 2 will be superior to gear 4 in combat.

RE: Chapter 784 : Gear Fourth
I like the new design. The only thing that bothers me is that gear 4th feels superior to gear 3. I can only hope gear 2 and gear 3 will develop more into their own fighting style (for example, luffy being very nimble "monkey-like" in gear 2, dealing precise damage). I would have loved gear 4 if it was just an alternative to gear 2 and 3 instead of being something superior (well, luffy stated he needed gear 4 to defeat huge beasts on the deserted island so I guess he couldn't defeat them with gear 2 and 3?). Can't wait to see the rest of the crew develop more monster-like techniques that look absolutely inhuman.. Except for Usopp ofcourse.

RE: Chapter 767: Cora-san
Quick thought: maybe Tsuru's fruit has some advantage over Doflamingo's fruit like being able to make the strings he uses really soft (and thus ineffective)? Note that we also saw her in the shishibukai meeting earlier in the story where she was telling doflamingo to stop playing around.
