I'm a little worried that suddenly someone blocked a weapon imbued with haki, assuming the translation is right. I could have sworn haki was supposed to be the strongest method of increasing attack strength, so what the hell is strong enough to block it? Weird.
That has never been stated, or even implied.
Haki is not an ultimate enchant to make all weapons invincible.
It's not a "turn any metal into adamantium" magic.
That bounty hunter is like one of the four people in OP who refers to himself as a sniper.
Hope he lives up to the hype.
And the don having that kind of haki should suprise no one. Anyone who'd be willing to duke it out with Garp should have those kind of credentials.
Holy shit, Sai is the commander of the entire Hanokuni navy? First I read it as just "13th division commander", but damn, that puts his pretty large re-intro panel in a new light. Good thing he's my favourite Flower Trio member, hope he shines.
Not a bad chapter. Jean Ango's fighting style seems interesting, and it's also nice to have a bounty hunter around again (bonus points for not being jackass like those guys from Sabaody who squealed Camie to Peterman). It's a pity his design sucks tough.
Don Chinjao has Conqueror eh? Maybe he's gonna be more important to the story than I tought after all. 
I just hope that the next chapters don't concentrate too much on the mach! I've been waiting to see more of certain someone. :ninja:
Not "bad", but easily the worst chapter of the arc until now.
The scene with Ideo was pretty cool and i'm looking forward for the clash between Luffy and Chinjao, although i still believe the old guy isn't going to be a real nail-bitting challenge for Luffy.
Liked the chapter, but we had better ones in the last weeks but still a good chapter. Oda really pushed the action and revealed a lot about the fighters in block c and their indvidual strength.
Have a question about that. When Jean Ango aims to hit that guy he has some sort of Scope around his weapon like a Bullseye. Could that be a DF? Something like perfect aim? He is hated by a lot of strong new world pirates. He seems pretty powerful for a bounty hunter. Would be kind of the perfect DF for a cowboy 
. If its not a DF what is it or doesnt it have any meaning at all?
The Country Flower Kenpo is nice just like Ideos punches. That Chinjaos working for Kaido could still be possible, even if people dont think its likely at this point, since the way i understood it the Happou Navy could still be a criminal organisation that has been active for centuries.
The funks ability. Anyboy with a valid theorie about that? I thought it was a DF but not too sure. First i thought Paramecia but then i noticed that Gatz or someone else said that he become muh bigger so i dont know which kind of fruit could have this effect.
Its a chapter everbody knew had to happen. Maybe next issue or with the double issue thereafter Block C will be resolved and some other plotlines will have advanced as well. We should remember that after the Blocks are done everything happening from this point on will be awesome. Even a the flashbsacks that are still bound to happen in this arc.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the Funk Brothers are based on Dalton Brothers from the Lucky Luke comic book series?
I thought they were based on the professional wrestlers Terry and Dory Funk, but I've never read the Lucky Luke series so there might be some influence there too.
It is surprising nobody has said On D. Chinjao yet. The chapter was very surprising every (strong) Fighter in the new world seems to know something about haki. I think from this point on we will see a lot of haki beasts like Vergo

Man i dont even need to read CCCs translation or know Japanese to know that 100 million is definitly not, the number it says there. What do these guys think they are translating? Dragonball? Anyway, not really interested in seeing all these fodder guys (in the grand scheme of things) fight. Moving along..
Heh, 100 million actually was the number! Panda's problem in that specific case is interpreting the sentence altogether, because the 100m refers to bounties and not a number of pirates…
They probably missed that because the word "berries" isn't in the sentence, which seems like evidence that they're approaching translation like a computer algorithm and not an interpretive art.

Berries like the sensible size of numbers is also a One Piece thing. Sometimes I think these translators have never read any of the series, other than the chapter they happen to translate. You don't need an editor to notice somethings wrong here.

That is something I wanna know too. "Happou Navy" Commander refers to a specific pirate crew of Kanokuni? Or it means, as you say, the entire navy of that country?
If it's the second option, then, yeah, holy shit. I really hope with all we're seeing, we get to visit Kanokuni one day, even if it's a short visit.
Chapter was pretty cool. It was mostly a revisit of the B-Block intro chapter, and I'm perfectly fine with that. Also, gotta say the Kerry bros fusion, Ideo's explosive boxing style and Chinjao's CoC and martial arts prowess are far more impressive displays than what Tank Lepanto, Jeet and Abdullah or Dagama did(although Dagama's strength was his stratagies, not his fighting power). That was to be expected, as Luffy's block was bound to be the most dangerous.
That Boo was already knoked out was quite unexpected, honestly. I thought the 3 of them would gang on Luffy, but it's one down already.
Now, I'd prefer if next chapter Oda gives us a fight with a coreography that flows from start to finish, instead of bits of fighting here and there. For B Block that was more than enough, but here we have Luffy facing 6 opponents head on. This is the perfect chance to create a great, great fight.
I have high hopes for this.

I'm a little iffy about his design in certain panels but I don't dislike him.
Of course my favourite is the Don but I just love the "superhumanly strong old geezer" trope.

Also, you can infer from the text that the numbers are a ceremonial thing, a ritual tattoo for Kanokuni Navy's Big Boss giving his place in the dynasty. If Chinjao comes out of retirement and takes charge, he'll have to do an Ace/Luffy thing and get an X on his 12 tattoo and a 14 below it.
Ideo's fighting style is interesting as its not DF related for those explosions. He said he wants to eat the Mera Mera, so he don't have a DF.
And still some are holding by the fingernails to the idea that since Scotch has a number that Don Chinjao and his boys must also work for Kaidoh. :getlost: Really…. I will say it again= Kaidoh's followers are not the only ones we have seen in the series to have numbers tattooed or 'painted' on their bodies.
I think this may be where people get the idea of 'number refers to PIRATE commander's rank' = Namur had an 8 tattoo, he wasn't part of Kaidoh's crew but the 8th Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates.
But Franky has the "BF" and a number due to it being a number in his line of Battle Franky's inventions.
Frankly I like the idea that The big Don and his boys are not on Kaidoh's crew and yet are former pirates (the Don himself) and commanders (all three it seems) of that country's navy

He is based on Django from the same named movie. His hat and his chin-thing remind me of the stuff the movie showed. And Django was also a bounty hunter in the movie.
Of course the Hano-guys aren't Kaidou's men. The number tattoos just display "each" generation commander of their "navy".
If Kaidou's guys also have numbers, they'll have it just on their shoulders (only the big shots though), just like Franky.
Glad I was actually able to stand by my decision to not look at the spoilers for this chapter, made it that much more enjoyable. The Happou Navy and Funk Brothers' ability were the most interesting parts for me.

I kinda miss the Green Bit action we had and the dynamic of Law's plan, but I don't mind the switch to the tournament as much anymore.

Well then, get ready to deal with it. Oda already explained that he'll be working on a less tight schedule, and August is right around the corner, and that means more breaks (Holidays, etc . . .).
Read some Kingdom meanwhile, the breaks will be less painful.

Hey, why do you think he's wearing the older one? My first thought was that 'wear it' meant wear the hat and that gave him power. He got bigger body but same face, hair, also same tatoo of star. So what's the clue that he's wearing his 'little brother'? Is there anything that is clearly saying it can't be 'df hat' or smth like that that gives him bigger body?

Both are shockwaves, but I think Fishman Karate affects more on organs and inside the body while their fighting style breaks everything with shockwaves on that small area. Kinda like very miniature Whitebeard punches.

Ok, this chapter was OK but since there is going to be a break next week, I'm really disappointed I wanted more..
Anyway.. we saw some really good fighting characters.
That guy who shoot explosions was cool, and since he said that he wants to get stronger by eating the Mera-Mera, I assume he doesn't have a Devil Fruit.
Now the question here is how can he shoot those explosions like punches?! Weird!
Then the three dudes who use Kenpo! The punch that controls shock! That looks scary.. And I wonder if any of the Straw Hats can learn how to do it, just like Cp9's techniques, or maybe that is just a specific ability of some people !
Chinjao using King's Haki was not surprising for me, I expected him to have it. He really looks tough..
The chapter till this point was somehow boring but when Jean Robber appeared it started to get interesting.
This dude shooting those weapons with that speed like bullets.. he sure looks to be a scary bounty sniper :P
Than those two brothers were weird too.. I knew that Bobby was tough from his look, eventhough I didn't understand what actually happened in the end where one of them defeated Boo..
And the most interesting part of the chapter for me was when Jean Robber stole Luffy's helmet, for one moment I wanted him to reveal his face :P
But the next page nothing really happened and the chapter ended.. once again disappointed -_-
So in the end of the tournament I think there will not be just a 1 on 1 fight, I'm assuming that Luffy will have to fight 4 or 5 characters alone in the final battle of the block C :)
I don't care if Oda focuses in the Tournament next chapter, but I would hate it if later on he just shows the conclusion of DDvsFujivsLaw fight or a flashback, which would ruin it IMO.

Discussed this a bit in the spoiler thread. But anything at this point is really speculation.

Yeah it seems like the Kerry/Bobby thing has to be a DF. We only get to see the Bobby-body/Kerry-face… person (and no other body is shown; for example one with Kerry's body and Bobby's face), so it seems reasonable to conclude that it's some kind of fusion power. Presumably Bobby has it, because Kerry says "wear !!" Fuku fuku would work, but more than just the face, the user also gains the absorbed person's power.

Double issue doesn't mean 2 chapters, it just means that they're calling the magazine two different issues in order to have the same amount per year. (For instance, a double issue will be Issue 34 and 35).
