I always was intrigued by music in video games in the early years, especially the ones they caught me by surprise by having unseemly music in them (like a fighting game having a Frederic Chopin music as a boss theme). As the majority of this forums agree (I think), a good OST is as important as a plot or the mechanics of a game and sometimes can even suppress those requirements and make a seemingly simplistic game a masterpiece.
So, I want to know from you, my fellow forum members, what music from video games (old or new) caught your attention, and made you like a game, even more than its gameplay or its plot.
I will start:
Katamari Damacy: a "boring" game, with a easy concept and a silly plot, but the songs of this game makes the game soo much fun.
Marvel VS Capcom 2: I was surprised to know that most people don´t like the OST of this game, maybe the "jazz" approach was too unappealing, but it broke the mold for those generic fighting games songs I used to hear.
Earthworm Jim: Sure, it was a random game from the start, but I would never guessed that classical musics and famous tangos were in this game, surely a groundbreaking experience.
