was it? probably depends of which translation u read… im not sure yet, ive read all 3 of em (mr mp ms, and ccc) still im not too sure if hes a bad or a good guy, feel free to tell me
Barto's expression looked remarkably sinister in that panel, but it could just be the way he generally looks shrug.
His line is pretty neutral, but I think his face tells a different story.
PS: Like with most named contestants in this tournament, I want to know Hajrudin's story as well. Him being a rookie Elbaf giant that is aspiring to be a logia fruit user in order to become King of all Giants. Wonder what's up with that? Does he simply want to be a powerful guy or is he aspiring to become the top of the line in Elbaf? Again, I hope this is another demonstration of foreshadowing/world building that Oda has been doing through this tournament for a future arc (in particular Elbaf).
The people in OPwiki think Sabo is dead because of that info in the green data book; calling others dumb for thinking otherwise. They really grind my gears.
Don't forget Vergo and Monet, who aren't confirmed at all.
Will be very hilarious when they all appear fine.
@Monkey:
The people in OPWiki are morons who are probably too pussy to post on this site lol.
Sabo is dead, deal with it.

@Ghost:
Simply because 'his' cup was there doesn't mean he was the one who placed it there. Remember someone had to set it there for Ace, but I guess Sabo could have put them all there, it's all speculation so calling someone 'dumb' or 'foolish' for believing one way or the other is quite silly.
Anyways maybe oda foreshadowing giants with logia?
Wouldnt giants with DF be overpowered? If San juan wolf would use Daifunkai from akainu , he could destroy alaabasta in one hit lol
23 pages are a lot to cover… so maybe this has been said already.
But given the way they look and the overall Spanish theme of the Dofla family/pirates, I think it's safe to conclude Jola ate something along the line of "Picasso Picasso fruit"
Yeah that sure got me hyped, people do tend to overlook the fact that Zoro and Sanji pwned a Giant/Fishman long long ago (10 times human strength in one the size of me or you, scaled to that size, wow!)
@Monkey:
lol at anyone dumb enough to think Sabo is dead.
Three cups in Ace's grave wasn't enough, obviously Oda should be a better writer. Not.

Maybe not "Picasso" but "Art" fruit.

Pretty sure Oda even had an SBS question where he responded to that with a complete refusal to deny anything lol.
BUT THE DATABOOK
So Oda forgot to draw Luffy's beard and the "12" on Don Chinjao's forehead, sll in all a great chapter, cant wait til next week!

I want to be interested in this Rebecca plot, but I just find her so bland and generic, especially compared to how unique Oda has made other (even minor, instantly wiped out) competitors.
I agree with people who think that Bart doesn't want Cavendish to kill Luffy because he likes Luffy for whatever reason. It sounds too purposefully ambiguous, like Cavendish just assumed he wanted to kill Luffy too and he just didn't bother to correct him. Though at this point, I have no idea what the connection is. Luffy's saved and touched so many people, it doesn't seem unlikely that he'd pick up some unknown admirers.
Bellamy is giving me major Gin vibes right now, so I can see him starting an attack but not being able to go through with it (and then DD's men turning on him). Also, I can't believe that Doflamingo really thinks that Bellamy has a chance, since he's spoken highly of Luffy's abilities. So I get the feeling that he just has a lot of fun toying with Bellamy. Or maybe is just using any method to keep Luffy busy.
Cavendish setting out a tablecloth on the wall and poking Bart when he reached for food - flawless character touches.

I'm really curious, what's the explanation from that camp for why Oda did a mini flashback to Dragon on the day of the Tenryuubito's arrival? (http://www.mangapanda.com/103-54487-7/one-piece/chapter-589.html) I honestly can't think of one besides "Sabo is alive" that isn't completely stupid.
for the sake of argument, has anyone noticed this: (after Oda's pretty much confirmation that Sabo isn't dead in a SBS)
my bets are that 70% the guy with the afro and goggles is Sabo and 50% the woman is Luffy's mother.
and 50% the woman is Luffy's mother.
And why's that exactly?
There can be other women in the Revolutionary army…

In my volume the question is "Are you every going to draw Luffy's father?", not "parents". So I highly doubt that that is Luffy's mother.

If that guy is Sabo then I'm gravely disappointed in Oda's design for the guy. Talk about…underwhelming.
PS: I'm pretty sure it's NOT him based on this most recent pic of him so knock that guy down to about 10% of him being Sabo (chin and hair are completely different)
!
As for Luffy's mother…shrug who knows.
i thought king tontatta is sabo undercover… wrong person?
I hate spamming posts, since I posted this too on the TOC thread. If it must be deleted, do so.
I think it's very relevant to this week's chapter, though:
This was a tweet by Weekly Shonen Jump: "Just read next week's issue author comments, and all I have to say is "Wow. . ." for Oda Sensei's comment. . ."
This is supposedly for the issue coming out this monday, meaning, the issue we are reading in an illegal way today.
Is this comment Oda made in this issue avaliable? And if it is, what does it say?
Thanks in advance!
Just Read it.
Oh Wow.. Ricky's such an old guy. He must be Kyros :ninja:

^ Really. I wish I knew the comment. Can anyone help?
OK, so Doflamingo's interest in Momonosuke is his secret getting out. I'm thinking Doflamingo is supplying the fruits to Kaidou only to double cross him. In Punk Hazard Momo was clearly hallucinating and acting weird after eating the fruit probably cause DD will be able to control whoever eats the fruit based through fear or something. There are so many things that take place in between arcs that people forget, like those frozen guys on PH.

Oda's already said he's always pictured Luffy's mom as being a rough, hardass woman with an afro. Outside of maybe a small flashback towards the end of the series, I don't see her being important or relevant. Ever.

That's an excellent find, I agree.
It's official….Doflamingo's crew has the weirdest set of Devil Fruits yet. This includes Law... his "Ope Ope no Mi" is a total "WTF?!" type of fruit. I thought the Baroque Works crew was odd...but nope. Dofla's crew is way weirder And we've only seen a couple DF powers revealed from this crew so far. I anxiously await for Diamante's DF powers to be revealed...assuming he has one, that is :ninja:
I don't think it's surprising that DD's men are after Momonosuke, since we know that they were being pursued by them before he went to Punk Hazard. Clearly there is some secret that Momo and Kin'emon are hiding.

I have a feeling that he made that description into Dadan, since it fits her to a tee. If Luffy's mother ever shows up in the narrative, I think it'll be as part of Dragon's background.

I'm sure somebody will already answer this by the time I do, but the fruit Momo ate wasn't a SMILE. It was made by Vegapunk.
Doflamingo had nothing to do with that fruit.
Haha I just noticed Bartolomeo trying to jack Cavendish's steak.

I know it was Vegapunks but the fruit being there so long, I been under the assumption that at some point Caesar messed with it.

Oda, did reveal luffy parent which is Dragon and Garp but not luffy mother yet.
im betting Barto and Ace were pals (just due to the Bartolomeo Portugues connection) and Barto's paying some respects to Luffy now
I'm willing to bet anything that the relationship is due to Ace (this would lend more weight to him getting the Mera Mera fruit; "that guy" might even be Ace [his grave] or Marco or someone), so either they were friends or foes. Foes would be stale just because we already have the Chinjao-Garp rivalry in this arc
as for that big box, I was actually expecting it to be some sort of bomb he would unleash on Cavendish in order to protect Luffy, but that doesn't seem to be the case; those could easily just be false signs to keep away from some precious Ace memoir he's been wanting to deliver to Luffy. Really I don't see Bartolomeo as a bad dude; sinister and a bit of an anti-hero, yes, but Oda really has not developed this dude to be a foe of Luffy

Who's to say that barto wasn't a cabin boy on the spade pirates ship? Lol
I agree with you though and that would be interesting to see.
Chapter just looked decent to me. Seems there won't any Bepo for the arc. Hope they don't get save by Zoro The execution of the last part was ridiculous. If at least it was the start of the bloc…
like those frozen guys on PH.
I really hope this is something interesting.
I suppose Oda could just forget about it, but that's not really his style. Also, Punk Hazard is now long over and that's one of the few remaining mysteries which doesn't seem to be getting set up to be solved within Dressrosa; if it comes back later in the story, it will be much much later, and I'm sure Oda wouldn't make this an insignificant reveal in that case
I heard an interesting theory about Bartolomeo being related to Luffy's brother (Ace) & that really makes sense because he's after the Mira mira no mi,he also said that his relation with Luffy is deeply rooted which could mean he was either Ace's friend or foe…And we all saw how strong he is so even if he's a new supernova maybe he's not a new pirate....(What if he was under Ace's command..An ex whitebeard pirate maybe? hiding there like blackbeard....)

But Luffy's mother and father are Dragon.
Look at the bottom panel of this page…

Yeah can't wait for the reveal and the Florian Triangle monster too.

Weren't those frozen guys just like a way to store test subjects or something? I remember them having prisoner outfits, so they were probably just prisoners Caesar got Vergo or someone to send him to experiment with.
I think that Luffy "helped" him by beating Moriah and he gained his shadow back.
He already looks like he hasn't seen the sun for a while.
And I want to hear about Moriah again….

I don't think it was ever mentioned why they're there but that could be a possibility. It could be where Law stored the criminals who's hearts he took but I hope theirs more to the story.

It just seemed sort of self-explanatory. I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see it again.
Can't wait for Daschund Binami vs Luffy part II. It's gonna be emotional one, I guess. :ninja:
Just Read it.

It has been implied a few chapters BEFORE this one that Ricky = Kyros based on some comment by an older looking guy from the audience.
Oh, my apologies, my quote wasn't very clear. I was interested in Oda's comment in the manga, not Kyros.
I should have quoted this:

It was over two years ago. Don't you think he's been out in the sun since then? But I do agree, I want to see Moria, as well. I actually had a dream during the B-Block chapters that Moria was on the sidelines cheering Barto on. :P
