@Sakonosolo:
$400 is a one time fee. $5 is constant and I don't think it's right to charge to play online. I didn't pay it for the 360 and I won't pay it for the PS4 either.
See, this here is a sentiment that I disagree with.
Obviously, as consumers, people have every right to be upset. After all, they didn't have to pay before, and now they do; all else being equal, of course anyone would prefer something for free, and so the introduction of a charge is a negative as far as the consumer is concerned. But where in the world does one get the idea that it is somehow not 'right' for the company to charge for online pay? The ability to play a game online is a service provided to the consumer, above and beyond the game itself. It requires some form or other of dedicated servers, and likely maintenance over time. As far as I can tell, requiring pay for the service is perfectly reasonable, even more so if it comes as an added benefit of another service which already provides plenty of great perks.
Again, I'm not questioning at all why one would be upset or put off by this, but anyone getting up in arms over it (not that I've really seen anyone doing such), or declaring that Sony is somehow overstepping what is 'right', is just taking a stance that I cannot agree with.
