I was wrong about Elizabeth to be marked forever as the little helpless princess. It seems the pendant has something to do with this but even so I would have never guessed this turn of events.
Hmm, Elizabeth doesn't have the pendant on. Or at least, you can't see it. Plus, her sister is looking for her in the crowd, so it wasn't her doing.

Anyway so far this tournament is much more interesting that One Piece one and it will probably be finished before we see Luffy fight.
Clearly the comparison doesn't make look good to OP. In seven deadly sins we have a much better way to develop a tournament. OP tourney is really boring in that it doesn't develop the main plot line, namely, Law's plan. The fruit, the sections, the new characters, nothing of all of that tells about Law's plan. Rather is a distraction and it seems Doflamingo got even the very same Oda got caught in this distracting tramp. On the contrary, SDS tourney is the main plot line right now: the sins need their treasures to be able to face the incoming war. I'm pretty satisfied by Susuki's work atm.

I'm missing the Nami connection, apparently. The other complaints are all weak and to be expected for an arc like this. Tournaments always have prizes, and if a story plans to move the plot along via the tournament then the prize or contestants must be relevant. The muscle man harassing the small hero is probably the most legitimate complaint, but when you make your hero look like a kid when he's really incredibly strong you are going to make that point a few times during the series. See chapter one. Also, for the most obvious comparison, see Dragonball. Of course these aren't original developments, but so far he's using his characters well and making a fun show of things, so who cares at this point?

The friction was so high, it suffered a burn.
I have reread the King arc and caught up with the ongoing. Suzuki Nakaba knows how to do shonen manga justice. It’s not easy to maintain the balance of action, story and character development, but he splendidly does it all, and I have no doubts about this manga’s future.
Interesting and entertaining, even if simplistic, main characters make you care for every conflict, especially the ones among themselves. And such execution carries the weight of the story, letting it go at a comfortable pace. The hints of past and future also play very well in the general scheme of things, and little by little build up the whole picture of this charming world. And it’s all so characteristically over the top!

So, the newest chapter just got released and the fight between King and Cain really made me laugh.

Which was the name of the town, btw? Because I think we can start to remove it from the maps.
I know that One Piece is a much bigger and ambitious work, and that as long running shonen manga goes it has little competition… But I'm really enjoying more Seven Deadly Sins than One Piece in the last months.
I think that I'm safe to say that this and Murata's One Punch Man are the great surprises of the year.

I wonder if Diane becoming regular sized is going to be constant in the series from now on or if it will just be for this arc.
Also I'm interested in seeing where Meliodas's and Elizabeth's relationship goes from here after what he told Diane about the groping. Elizabeth was obviously hurt by it.
Awesome chapter! Their fight was fun to read, Suzuki doesn't wast any panels. Mel and Ban seem to be pretty much equal, with the former being the stronger of the two, while Ban is the faster. Although, the balance might shift once their manage to put their hands on their legendary weapons again.
It's was good to see another flashback, this time of the two's first meeting. I like these short flashbacks. So that's what we know so far about the timeline:
So, in the distant past there was a ancient war between the Maiden Clan and the Demon Clan, which resulted in the defeat of the latter clan.
Seven hundred years ago King leaves his country for unknown reasons, with his sister Elaine remaining as the sole guardian. (ch. 25.5)
The Seven Sins were most likely formed between twenty to ten years ago, as Ban wasn't yet a member. So twenty years ago the Fairy King's forest is attacked by the Demon, Elaine dies and Ban becomes immortal. A short time later, he's arrested for "his" crimes. (ch. 25.5) The Demon is found by Hendricksen.
Sixteen years ago, Meliodas busts Ban out of prison. He asks Ban to join him (ch. 34)
Meliodas and Diane meet for the first time. (ch. 8)
Ban goes through his phase of collecting stuffed animals, angering King. (ch. 18)
Ban tries to grab Meliodas' sword, causing the latter to leave a permanent scar on his neck. (ch. 9)
Ten years ago, the Great Holy Knight is murdered and the Sins are accused of trying to stage a coup d'état; they scatter around and disappear. (ch. 5)
Five years ago, Ban willingly lets himself get captured by the Weird Fangs. (ch. 14)
Hauser was fun this chapter, too. I bet people of his generation had grown up hearing stories about these legendary men.
I still don't understand why King was ok with Ban back in the day, but was so incredibly against him when they met up present day. Did he simply not know about Ban's crimes? About his forest? Either way, I figure it will get answered. Fight was good this chapter, still really enjoying the art, but King's fight last week was way better haha.

It is implied that he only learned about that stuff after the "coup d'état" when he returned to the forest and found everything in ruins.
He also commented about how he didn't think much about ban's mysterious regeneration powers when they were together, which might not be that strange given of what we know of the current sins who all are pretty insane power wise.
But sure some questions of how something that seems major like the destruction of the forest didn't reach king's ears are left unanswered.
Right I could have said that better; obviously he didn't know Ban had 'killed his sister' or 'destroyed his forest' back then, but my question is why. As you said, it's pretty major, so he must have been totally in the dark about things if he overlooked that for the years they were together.
King is not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
All of the sins so far are quite the airheads, to tell the truth.
You also forgot King's sin: Sloth. And I mean in absolutely everything.
Yet, He's the only one with a Sacred Treasure. Ironic.
