2)After CC releases gas rope, it takes minutes before Luffy finally decides to inhale that gas rope, while in manga he inhales it immediately, without showing any hesitation. If he really was so afraid of that gas rope then he would have easily gotten away, for Christs sake it's just gas, he could have easily let him gotten away by using his CoC. Reason he didn't is because in manga he just inhales it without showing any hesitation, because he understands his resistance in poison. However, in episode it takes minutes for him to decide that and afterwardshe says that he only guessed that he would be fine after inhaling it. Complete nonsense, because in manga he does that confidently without any hesitation and openly says that poisonous stuff doesn't work on him.
Pacing is the reason. I can get through a chapter of One Piece in under 5 minutes, an episode is nearly 5 times that in length. The anime needs to slow the pace by extending, padding, or exaggerating some of these scenes in order take meet that 24 minute marker each week.
3)Jet Mace - again with nerfattack, charge time was so slow and it didn't see any impressive, while in manga it is single panel where he instantly performs that attack.
I had no idea what Luffy had done to Caesar when I read first read it in the manga. One moment Luffy's head is stretched 4-5 meters away dealing with Gas Robe, and in the next we see Caesar being sent flying by an ambiguous attack. The anime made it easier to follow that particular sequence of events.
!
!
- after Jet Mace action in manga is very fast paced as well, Luffy immediately jumps after him, but in anime it's so slow paced, CC slowly takes his time to chit chat witle slowly taking out that thing for performing that Gastanet attack;
5)Where slimes surrounds him, it was supposed very fast attack in manga as well, because Luffy just woulnd't ever get caught in those slow slimes jumping towards him, however in manga they gathers around him so slowly and it takes ages before CC finishes his speech and causes explosion.
- After dodging that explosion, there is no time for enyone to run any comments, Luffy immediately appears before CC and say his comment about that explosion before immediately lauching counter-attack, so nobody had time to say anything, while in anime everyone have long monologues and slow paced reactions to how Luffy have died after that explosion and then long paced monologues and reactions after they see Luffy behind CCs back. Such nonsense.
- CCs last attack in anime took minutes to take any effect, Luffy would have easily come up with million ways to deal with situation before he finally passed out, while in manga Luffy falls before doing anything.
Again, pacing. Get used to it. As it stands right now the anime is dangerously close to the manga so we're moving at a 1 chap = 1 episode pace. Just enjoy it for what it is because It's not going to change any time soon unless they pad the anime with a full blown filler arc in order to give themselves some breathing room before animating Dressrosa.
Conclussion
- anime makes all Luffy look very slow, indecisive, weak and without any figthing sense.
- fighting is so slow paced and to point that it isn't fighting anymore. It looks like 2 grannies have a slugfest and lazily lauhnches their slap attacks. Due to that, as I wrote, it makes Luffy to look like brainless weakling with 0 fighting sense, because their decision making during fight is slow as fuck, appears indecisive and behaves like they don't have any fighting sense.
Talk about redundant…
Anime adaptions are always going to have glaring differences from their source material for two simple reasons; one being, as I said before, pacing; the other, more important reason being that event sequences need to make sense to the viewer and flow in as cohesive a manner as possible. Anime adaptions simply can't afford to cut corners the way its source material can, it wouldn't translate well to TV.
