My brother bought Dark Souls so I played that for a bit. Pretty cool game. I quit after dying at the Taurus Demon. I also played some more Mark of the Ninja, which I didn't believe people when they said it was the best stealth game to come out recently. Kind of sad that a 2D flash-ish game can be the best stealth game in the past couple of years. Dishonored was good but its mechanics were a bit lacking.
What are you Playing?

Playing Pokemon Black 2
Fuck you, Clefairy!
It took out 4 of my team members, thanks to that stupid combo of Minimize and Cosmic Power.
You can't land any hits, it keeps buffing its defense, and then it keeps wailing on you with a move i've never seen before called 'Stored Power'.Ampharos, Dewott, Magmar and Krokorok. All taken down by a pink piece of shit.
I'm not doing a nuzlocke or anything, but it still annoys me to get owned like that.Luckily i had Zoroark on my team to finish it off.
(Knows 'Faint Attack', which never misses) -
Finished Fallout 2 earlier today. The battle against Frank Horrigan was substantially easier with the help of the turrets and Granite's squad (this time, all of my followers survived!). Now I've gotten the hint book after the ending, so I'll use it to gain a few more perks and then wander around to find the special encounters and maybe kill every living thing on the map…
Such an amazing game. My disc got scrached but I was able to install the game without any dialog and still beat it by simply killing everyone around in every town. maaan those were the times
-
Started Binary Domain today.
It's funny and entertaining. -
I just finished ICO on the HD collection which…kind of confirmed my dislike for puzzle games. But for a genre I'm not too fond of, it did a lot aesthetically and story-wise to make it slightly less painful for me to play.
Currently playing Bayonetta since its been compared a lot to Rising, a game I loved.
-
Finished Bioshock Infinite..Wow..great ending to the Trilogy
-
Man they really set persona 4 arena for a sequel. Hope it comes to wii u. Decided to try and speed run super metroid. My record is 4 hours 19 mins
-
Fortune Summoners agian. The game started to ease a bit on the difficulty, until it started throwing some freaking Harpies. They have this huge AOE spell that causes confusion, and the AI in this game just absolutely wrecks. Once the party's main fighter is confused, it's really difficult to run resist or fight. Confusion is really no damned joke.
But yeah, speaking of the AI. I think it's really neat how it was designed, even though I'm sure it's exploitable. Enemies immediately cancel spells to dodge or just dodge when you attack. They counter you when you leave yourself open during recovery animation. And other little variables that I find severely lacks in games with real time combat. Which is GREAT. Because enemies have just as much a chance at fighting like you and your party is. My only gripe is how the AI humorously works when you try to blast projectiles from a distance. Even when the enemies don't detect you, they are still programmed to dodge incoming projectiles and walk around like nothing happened in swag.

I'm about to start doing a Let's Play for Megaman Battle Network 4. So help me God.

so finished Super Metroid with a time of 2 hours, 8 minutes and 65% items. Now off to bed
-
one piece pirate warriors its a fun game.
-
Just ran into one of those giant club enemies in Demon's Souls in the second level of the swap areas…..F*ck those guys.

Where do I go to watch it?
-
Since Demon Soul's is on ps+ anyone here going for the platinum? I will try to do it before last of us comes out.
-
Had another go at Super Metroid.
And i find myself liking it way more than used to in the past, I actually finished it this time.
Wall Jumping and the Grapple Shot need to die in fire, though.I also got around on finishing the original Luigi's Mansion.
Fun times, but i don't feel the need to play the 3ds one (yet). Also been quite busy with MGS3 HD on the Vita, and i'm close to the end of the game.
Loving the series so far, i really like all those over-the-top plot twists. -

Well I don't read the Trophy list yet but I think I at least try it.
-
Where do I go to watch it?
It's actually text-based as I don't have the resources or the time to do video, unfortunately. If you're still interested I can give you the link when I start. I've covered the other three games already, too.
-
Finished Fortune Summoners. Solid indie game.
I'm really crying inside that there would never be a sequel.Oh well. Moving on to finishing Bonesaw. That should hold me over until I'm ready to play the Dark Souls DLC.
-

Yeah, I don't mind text LPs. Good luck with it and let me know when you start.
-
Finished ATV Offroad Fury (at least as much as I felt like playing it). I needed something quick and fun to get me back into the swing of gaming, and I'm hoping it was able to fill that role.
I also just installed Steam for Linux, so I'm gonna be getting something for that. Probably gonna try the Portal beta, since I already own it, but I'm thinking I might buy the Half-Life 1 Anthology too.
-
I beat the Taurus Demon in Dark Souls. I also got a bit further in FEAR 2.
-
Well I don't read the Trophy list yet but I think I at least try it.
The trophy list is kind of similar to dark souls, a lot of upgrading trophies, boss kill trophies and unique weapon trophies.
Playing dark souls before demon souls I just feel that it's practically a better version of it regarding how it handles. Also the parry and back stab animations feel a bit wonky and not as intuitive as in dark souls. The game is still a lot of fun though. The enemies in the stages themselves have been a lot harder than the bosses though, I've beat phalanx, tower knight and the armored spider for now.
-
Just finished Dark Moon, replaying Oracles of Ages and OFF, and a ton of TF2 and The Binding of Issac.
-
So, now that school's done I've gotten back into the fighting game scene. I'm playing a lot of Injustice. Still testing out the characters, but it looks like Shazam will be my main. I beat Cave Story the other day, and moved onto Tales of the Abyss. I'm bouncing between that Kid Icarus Uprising. I personally wasn't exactly fond of the first game, but as a fan of rail shooters, there's so much going for it. It's too bad that the controls are so damn awkward, though.
-
Hello flamelurker you little sob…
Man I'm not sure if demon's souls is harder or if it's just the fact that I don't have a clue what's the right way to progress. Also been playing some shooters with friends again, can't say I find the activity all that engaging but it's nice to reconnect with some old friends.
-
Finished Binary Domain.
Get some trophies and start with ICO; can't wait for it. -
Been playing Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Planet Explorers
-
Tried out the Portal Linux beta on my netbook. There was a little slowdown from me pushing the hardware, and a few glitches here and there, but overall it played pretty well. It did end up crashing on me though, but hey, it's a beta.
-
Found the Undead Parish bonfire finally in Dark Souls. Also beat a couple black knights (or at least I think that's what they are) and am pretty much at the Capra Demon, which I watched my brother fight and I'm not sure how difficult he'll be for me. Wonder if you can do a drop attack with a halberd, which is the weapon I'm using right now. It's +3 or +4, can't remember.
-
Beat the Bell Gargoyles in Dark Souls and died on the Capra Demon. Apparently they become normal enemies later on in the game, which is insane. I really like the gestures in this game.

I'm on a roll with platforming action games. Also on a role with gathering my thoughts into this topic to copy elsewhere.
From Super Metriod, to La Mulana, to Bonesaw, to Fortune Summoners, and now to Dust. I was about to try Fez, but the minimalist vector based art direction didn't really draw me in immediately. Maybe later.Dust is really interesting. I started it on Tough difficulty and it has not been a tough game at all. Compared to Fortune Summoners, the enemy AI vs your skills is really onesided, and the only technical advantage I've encountered was this enemy that can randomly summon explosive enemies in your face completely unexpectedly. I had a hard time dealing with those, but aside from that the game has been smooth sailing. Resource management does not exists as healing items drop and money in a handful amount >_>And while I'm not a big fan of crafting systems that requires farming for item, this game makes it incredibly easy due to the fact that all stores sell duplicates of materials once you sell that item ONCE. I don't know what it is… It seems like the game always throws you a bone every step of the way, and while this is good for casual gamers that do want to experience the story, it really should have made the harder difficulties more fun for a gamer like me :T
Also, the hidden stuff are very cleaver. It's like the bullshit puzzles of La Mulana have trained me in the art of finding obtuse stuff. Like, there was one part where you read something about kneeling in front of a grave, and then upon experimenting I found a hidden room. It was amazing, even though stuff like this is probably scarce.
That said, This game is really impressive for something that was made by one person. I mean, I'm enjoying it ton more than Vanillaware's action sidescrollers w/pretty art, and that says something. I can't say much about its narrative at the moment, but will do once all the pieces come together. The plot so far as been really slow, but the interactions between Dust and Fidget are fun enough to keep the journey itself interesting. That talking sword is pissing me off though, because unless he as a great reason, I see no reason for him to withhold information all the time. It would be disappointing as hell if he does end up dumping a ton of mundane information during the last act, and then proceed to say something like "what will you do if I told you earlier?" or some padding excuse bullshit.

Started ICO today. It's beautiful. Love the music as well
-
I started it on Tough difficulty and it has not been a tough game at all.
That's what I've heard as well, even from people that don't really pride themselves in beating hard games.
Everyone seems to be advocating hardcore if you want to be challenged, since tough seems to make you only lose some health at worst. Can't comment on the other stuff but I was interested in the game since it came out on the 360. Bought it a few days ago and will get to it hopefully after I beat demon's souls. Also it seems that the pc port is pretty incredible when it comes to options.
-
I started playing The Longest Journey which I got on sale the other day on GOG. Wow, it's really fantastic. The narrative is excellent, the voice acting is top-notch, the jokes are great, the Monkey Island references/tributes are great, and the puzzles are ingenious. Unfortunately I had to restart the game once because I got a glitch that is apparently common and really frustrated me (I was trying to do what I was supposed to do, but the game wouldn't register it). I'm only on the 3rd chapter I think so far.

I actually heard about this game off a friend a long time ago, and never got it since I refused to use my 360 or support XboxLiveArcade ever again. Thankfully the PC release means more people can play it. Looking forward to reading what you think about it when you get to the game though.
My gripes with the game are nowhere near a negative, so I assure that it's solid experience on its own. I just went off on a tangent comparing the balance of Dust to Fortune Summoners. Especially considering the genres are similar in terms of combat, and that I finished FC a few days before getting into Dust (that, and I'm sort of studying what my ideals would be if I ever get into game development).
Good luck with Demon's Souls. You were planning on getting platinum in that game? Or was that someone else here? I can't imagine that being very fun as most of the trophies aren't core gameplay related(mostly farm/grind related.. like Dark Souls). But eh… There's always abusing the Thomas glitch.

I only played the second part but I liked that one a lot, maybe I should also get on the first title in preparation for dreamfall chapters.

1. Will definitely write something when I get to playing it. It's just inevitable with the kind of somewhat quirky game dust seems to be.
2. Thx! Yeah I'm committed to it, the trophy list has me a bit worried though a lot of weapon upgrade trophies and from what I could see everything takes way more stuff compared to upgrading in dark souls. Not that focused on it yet though, just currently working on beating the game. It's a bit of a shame that dark souls and demon souls have so many grind related trophies. I could do without any of the upgrade ones. I think the spell gathering and item gathering ones are fine though. Finishing up knight's honor in dark souls was pretty satisfying.
–--------------------------------
As for the game itself just beat the stormking and maneater today, magic kind of breaks the game in a lot of cases.
Seeing that I really like the limited spell count in dark souls as a solution.
Not sure if it's just the "fresh" effect but I have to say I kind of prefer the demon souls bosses at large, right now. Flamelurker, stormking and maneater are pretty fun, I'd take these 3 over seeth, gaping dragon and hellkite.
Dragon God was pretty boring though but at least it didn't feel as shitty as bed of chaos. -
Does Hellkite count as a boss though? He seemed more like an environmental hazzard if anything. But yeah. Dark Souls does have alot of crappy bosses. Outside the Bell Gargoyles, Orstien & Smough, and maybe the DLC bosses(I've seen videos), they are mostly really easy. The Lord Soul bosses in particular are bad. Gaping Dragon is still one of my favorites though.
-
I beat the Capra Demon and Gaping Dragon today and got the key to Blighttown. I died at the first enemy at the entrance to Blighttown. Need to upgrade my weapon.
-
Got some plot advancement in Dust… finally.
Not sure if I like the reveal though. It's kinda dumb in some ways, but now I kinda understood why the sword didn't say anything(cuz it was kinda dumb).
Now the final acts of the game revolves around setting off a war, and honestly it's kinda making me stray away from it. War stories in a beastsmen setting or RPGs in general are kinda boring and overdone. That, and the battle system along with the encounter of new environmental platforming hazards are kinda wearing on me. If the game had really good boss fights, or challenging gameplay in general, I'm sure I could have kept going but... they are really standard and nowhere near satisfying:( Beautiful as heck though. Vannilaware can learn from a game like this.If anything I'll probably wrap it up next weekend for the sakes of supporting the idea for a sequel.
Edit: I had nothing better to do, so I finished it. Good game. Everyone with 13-15 bucks to spare should buy it.
-
Started gears judgement and fire emblem gaiden today. Judgement seems like it will be really short
-
I only played the second part but I liked that one a lot, maybe I should also get on the first title in preparation for dreamfall chapters.
I bought the sequel as well but I probably won't get to that until after I finish Remember Me. But you really, really should play the original Longest Journey. I don't know how it stacks up to the sequel but after playing a few more hours it is easily one of the best games I've ever played. It's got almost the perfect difficulty balance in the puzzles – they can be difficult, but there's always little tiny clues out there if you look hard enough. Those "I feel really smart right now" moments are more forthcoming than they are in almost any adventure game I've played, and at the same time I've never been truly stuck for more than about 20 minutes (and I've never looked at a guide).
And removing gameplay entirely, the narrative is so solid. It was obviously extremely well thought out. Conversations go above and beyond what is required and what you'd expect, and dialog trees are not just there to artificially pad the game but actually add character development and interesting tangents. This also helps make the characters really good. The intellectual discussions (yes these actually happen) feel genuine instead of scripted preaching.
And the humor is just fantastic. Even in the most serious of situations the developers know when to throw in something ridiculous to remind you to lighten up a bit. And some characters are so brimming with sarcasm that all I can do is picture Professor Frink's sarcasm detector exploding over and over.

Good point, well let's see I think dark souls can do without one of the asylum demons/fire sage instead.

You've definitely sold me on it yey backlog! Also be sure to post something about remember me especially story wise, the buzz isn't quiet positive but from what I've seen it looked interesting. Would have gotten it if not for the last of us.
–--------------------------------------------------
Nearing the end of demon's souls now only have to do the last 2 bosses of world 5 and what's left of world 1.
Have to say that it's really surprising how strong the core design of the game is. I mean as a whole I have to say dark souls is better in my opinion it has so many quality of life and gameplay improvements but I still don't care. Demon's Souls is still fun despite seemingly being a lesser version of dark souls, because the core gameplay is just so good. It makes me forget that I hate the item burden limitation, that I hate the way more annoying crafting system, that I hate that it handles itself a bit more sluggish then dark souls, that I hate how abundant replenishing items can be, etc etc.In comparison I wouldn't be able to do the same for persona after playing the golden and I love persona...

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
I've been really getting back into my Nintendo DS lately.
-
Playing Acropolis/Zeus. After checking the tutorials to actually understand how the game works (gladly it's similar to Pharaoh), I just finished the first stage without expecting that the city would be carried over to the next stage :P
-
I bought The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind over the weekend, since it was on sale on Steam. Just started it tonight. Seems alright, though I'm already starting to miss some of the elements that were added/changed in Oblivion and Skyrim. I think it's just going to take some getting used to though. I still expect it to ultimately be just as enjoyable as the other Elder Scrolls I have played.
-
Just finished The Longest Journey. Easily still in my top handful of games. It stayed strong throughout, even though some of the later reveals I'd guessed long before. But it makes no difference to the quality of the game. I really could feel the characters, especially your own character. At the end you unlock outtakes during the voice recordings and listening to the actors breaking character just felt wrong and surreal. That's the sign of a job damn well done.
-
Dark souls. I want to finish it because the new one comes out.
-
Demon's Souls world tendency makes me really unhappy screwed myself out of pure white, well off to new game +
Also pure bladestone….Urgh, the demon's souls platinum is awful, way way way worse then the dark souls one.
I've been slaving away at all the weapon trophies right now.
It took me 39 resets to get the pure moonlightstone.
Been on and off trying to get the pure bladestone but no luck.Farming some of the stuff makes you just really appreciate that resting at a bonfire respawns most enemies.
Archstones do suck in comparison... -
Deus Ex: Nihilum.
