Attack on Titan: Why Genocide Is Sometimes Kind of Okay

@Murata:
Me: It appears that they’re hiring animators for Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan)!
Editor: You can’t, sensei.I didn’t even say anything and they cut me off, tsk—
-
Murata: Hey, looks like they're recruiting animators for Shingeki!
Editor: There's no way, sensei!?Murata: I didn't even say anything and he stopped me. Hmph

such as one of the corpses being whole instead of cleaved in half and lifeless, and having a whole corpse that you can't resuscitate is close to as bleak as the original.
Like it has been said, it was very clear from one of the angles that he was missing his legs. It just didn't show us the actual wound. And I've seen comments from people who didn't read the manga who picked it up instantly, so it was clearly perceptible.
@The:
…Not...Really. looking at that scene in the anime, its not really clear that the person is totally dead, rather than just unconcious. It being a whole body gives the chance that it COULD be revived.
Originally, with it just being a torso, and the girl still giving CPR, not even acknowledging that, it's a Whole new level of delusional grief, complete irrevocable futility.
Same answer.

The guys in charge of copyright for this show are FUCKING STUPID, they took down the opening that was over 4 million views and giving them tons of popularity.

I actually missed it myself when I saw. Even though I had a suspicion of Eren = Titan, it was still fantastic on this latest episode. Misaka, the tough girl breaking down as she did when she finally finds out he is alive was the best part, which is saying something since there were so many great scenes. While I think they are handling gore well, this was the only particular moment where they missed the plot entirely imo, since it wasn't that obvious. It's different seeing a picture and being in the moment when we saw it. :S
I am waiting for this series to drop in quality a little bit because I can't think it can hold and yet 8 episodes in, nope.. still absolutely amazing. I know it won't happen but this anime has a chance to become my favorite if this type of high quality consistency is held up until the anime is done. It's that good for me at the moment. Major props to the writer, and the director for bringing his story into the anime. Considering the high quality animes he's directed before, this comes to no surprise to be fair.

It works without them doing anything I heard. Random people report it, Youtubes algorithm checks key passages of the song whether they match key passages of a copyrighted song in their database. If so, and it's not uploaded by an account they have as licensed to use that song, they block the video. No person involved other than the random people klicking the report button. Of which there always be some on popular videos.

extended version got 4 million views too

I can't wait for Living horizon to release that single for the actual factual full version of the song.
-
-
Can't wait 'til June 10th for the full opening song, as well as the rest of the original soundtrack by Sawano Hiroyuki. As good as everything else is, the music just elevates everything.
Also the author of this manga is a fan of All-Rounder Meguru and Teppuu, which would explain why Mikasa is so ripped. Teppuu's pretty good, recommend checking it out. Haven't read Meguru.
-
So I recently started with this manga and… I read 27 chapters without a break. I just couldn't stop myself from reading more and more and more D: Well, I think that speaks for itself. I also intend to watch the anime soon, when my inernet is finally faster again. The opening song is incredible, and so is the animation style.

I've been digging through all the mangachapters and anime-episodes I could get my hands on.
Really loving the vibe throughout the story. Giants are terrifying.. there's tragedy around every corner… but whats really annoyed me at the start was the high amount of people dying. You know, I'm used to OP standards.
People are really dying here. First chapters were really tough with all those people dying who you prepared to grow close to.It's an interesting approach..
Don't get me wrong.. I'm not glad Oda took a well deserved hospital break. But thanks to that, this series took my attention in a storm. and now i'm kinda addicted. lol
-
Yeah, you definitely need to forget all about One Piece's (Oda's) standards for mortality if you're going to be reading this manga…

Guys, can we not talk about N&B in here? This thread's filled with awesome so why mention something as disgusting as those two series? :|

So… I there's a mistake.
Berthold said that his village is south-east of Wall of Maria, but... it means that his village is OUTSIDE of the walls. Yet nobody seem to think it's weird that there's a known village settlement outside of the walls.
-
What's wrong with a rogue village outside the walls? Could you point me to the page where it states their whereabouts.

Wikipedia states on Eren Jäger: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Attack_on_Titan_characters
"The protagonist of the series. Idealistic, violent, and impulsive, (…) "What's idealistic about eren? Him wanting to have a world without giants? Killing off all giants? Can't see how someone can assume him being idealistic, maybe my people skills just suck too much. Clarification plox

@NER:

Well, at the moment it is overrated, imo. The Problem i have with this series(Anime) is the long build up which implied trashtalk, an even more annoying protagonist(Eren) as luffy and loud annoying music. On the other hand, the Action looks amazing and the tragic scenes are good. I watched till episode 6 and i would rate it currently with 3,5/5. I know the twist in the next episodes and it could get better. But at the moment i can only do a facepalm when i read "SnK is fucking amazing and best Anime ever". But it's ok if some people feel this way, but for me it is overrated right now.

You answered your question pretty much by yourself. Eren's dream is to exterminate all titans and free humankind. That dream may be shared by a few others- fortunately I may add- but Eren's desire to do so is in my eyes the strongest one. His will can't be broken and whatever you do, he'll get back up and fight. Personally I love that about his character.
So… I there's a mistake.
Berthold said that his village is south-east of Wall of Maria, but... it means that his village is OUTSIDE of the walls. Yet nobody seem to think it's weird that there's a known village settlement outside of the walls.
I wouldn't call it a plot hole or mistake yet. In Reiner and Bertholdt's case the circumstances are especially vague and it can't be said for sure how much of their words is actually true and what parts could be made up to deceive humanity. I'd say you should wait for now until we get more background info on both.
-
Considering the world has been plagued by Titans for as long as humanity can remember, how is wanting to exterminate every single titan not idealistic? Especially when they know next to nothing about them (how they came to be, how they multiply, why they think "Hey, you know what'd be fun? Killing all humans!") and even some of their most elite soldiers have ended up as titan puke. Eren wanting to kill all the titans and see the outside world is just as idealistic as Luffy wanting to find the One Piece and become King of the Pirates…
-
Before the invasion of wall Maria Eren and Armin's dream was to simply go outside the wall and see the wonders of the outside world such as the ocean. I'd say that dream was pretty idealistic.
-
^beach, huh? Does that mean… does that mean that once we get there in the manga, we'll have a full chapter dedicated to
! titans in bikinis?
