That was amazing. I'm somehow glad that we get to see Sonic fighting a strong enemy like that.
Onepunch-Man (redrawn version)

damn this was quite ride.
Read all the chapters in one go. -
That was amazing, disturbing, funny and serious. Man, OnePunch-man delivers!

I find the whole "best artist in Jump" thing rather subvjective. I mean, somone could draw a manga with drawings that are near photorealistic, but I can easilly prefer an artstyle that's more exageratted or unrefined and even say I like it alot better.
-
I love how Murata kept the facial designs that one had originally used for these characters, The sea king is twice as creepy as he was in the original comic. I so cannot wait until that level god arc happens for those who have seen the original series should know what i'm speaking of
! the arc where all the S class heroes fight and get fucked up really bad

For me that is Oda with One Piece ;). It doesn't exist an art-style that I like more, even if is not as detailed and realistic as other mangakas art-styles.
Murata is currently in Jump? Isn't One Punch Man from an online magazine of Shueisha?(What is the name of the magazine?)

Wasn't Eyeshield Jump? I think people are more associating him drawing for writers in Jump moreso the current.

Yep, Eyeshield 21 was from Shonen Jump. I searched and One-Punch Man is from "Young Jump Web Comics"(That means is Seinen?), So I think you can say is from Jump too.

Puri Puri Prisoner was amazing. XDDD
Too bad he got owned like that, but still….God, I can't breathe.....XDD dies from laughter
-
I wonder if Puri Puri Prisoner is still listed as a hero, recieving all benefits, or everything got revoken after he got busted? And he calls himself hero because he likes it, running away from jail to fight and then getting back, on his own or not. Either way, he is hilarious. Someone may say that over buff homos are deadbeat joke, but I still like it if it's executed right.

He's an angel .

I kinda agree with you here, but there are accumulation of things that Murata is "good at" (in comparison to other shounen artists) which sets him apart as the better one. There are plenty of good shounen artists that are talented in their own rights, but Murata has a mixture of qualities that sets him slightly above others. One of the greater qualities that I think is neglected by most shounen artists is "clarity" (for lack of a better word). This becomes apparent in action sequences where the artist utilizes a lot of interesting angles to heighten the "action" (or in other times, really creative line-work), but in most times they are a bit confusing to look at. Murata's action sequences are very easy to follow and you KNOW what the characters are doing. This is an important characteristic of shounen titles (at least the action based ones) and a fair share of authors seem to have difficulty with this (ESPECIALLY Kishi, and Kubo).
I know several instances in action sequences where i wondered "what the hell is going on?" Or "wait a minute…are we missing a panel here?" Murata has a knack for coherency in his action panels which is evident in his flip book momenta (which i think is just murata showing off....not that this is a bad thing.)Bleh, I'm bad at explaining all of this.
-
I guess it has to do more with what the Jump editors thought when they first saw something drawn by Murata rather than the opinion of the general population. I mean, Shingeki is pretty damn popular and I've come across people who really dig the art style, yet the Kodansha editors just gave the one-shot a "2 out of 5" when it came to art.
Anyway, the fact that Murata did keep his promise of providing us with an extra long chapter already makes him one of the best mangaka in my eyes. Not a lot of folks in the industry go out their way to do stuff like that, and he did apologize to his fans unlike that slob of Togashi so there was no need for him to do it.
-
Btw Puri puri prisoners language contains lots of puns about homosexual practices, doesn't it?
A note of the translator:
A small note to Huff-Puff Prisoner (original: ぷりぷりプリズナー, Puri-Puri Prisoner). It's still not clear to me what the Puri-Puri part stands for. Here are the possibilities:
1. Puri-Puri as in huff-puff, he loses control and gets angry easily.
2. Puri-Puri as in firm butt, stiff muscles, commenting his bodyline.
3. Puri-Puri as in Pretty-Pretty. This one is the least likely imo.I went with Huff-Puff Prisoner for now, but I may have to change his name depending on what we see of him in the future.

He had dynamic varied angles and body language, (just look at his title pages) and his action scenes were extremely easy to follow. Anything in the chunin exam (and especially the Lee/Gaara fight) have tons of panels and easy flow and you can make out what's happeneing at all times.
He's… slipped off in more recent years and just clearly doesn't give a shit anymore.

Really? I don't like the series nearly as much as I used to, but I've never thought of that as one of Naruto's problem. Is there a given fight that is particularly bad about this I can see?

Oh yeah, Naruto has considerable problems (at least NOW it does) making any coherency between action sequences in panels. Yeah, this arc/chapters don't need to be extended any longer, but some additional panels could help in making sense in scenes like this (what is happening here?):

read comments
wth why did the quality of the art drop so sharply =.= don't make this into another hunter x hunter… good mangas bad arts after a while.
God damnit, people are so stupid. So much ignorance in these comments…
Anyway, /a/ posted this:
One Punch Translator here. I have a new chapter for you guys.
Small note: back in chapter 38, the prophecy the fortune teller told Boros said that the fighter would be Boros' equal. That gets mentioned in this chapter, and I've v2'd 38 to reflect that.
Also, I might not be doing any chapters for the next few days. I apologize in advance. I am NOT dropping this. I'll just be busy with other things.
-
I read your post in Cell's japanese voice. And yeah, that's hilarious. People don't look up anything anymore.
-
@Zik:

Well… Someone had to do it.
Its the real webcomic (well, a translated version). There are 2 versions of this manga/comic, the first one is the original webcomic drawn & written by ONE (the chap.39 one). And the other is drawn by Murata based on the original webcomic. So try reading the remake version if u want to see top-notch drawing, and read the original if u just can't wait to see what happens next (it's now at chap...70-sumtin IIRC, but it's only been translated up to chap. 39)
-
90% of the users on mangahere are VERY dumb. That should be obvious.

It's up to 90 and the translation is up to 40.

Aargh!! Damn those ungrateful unpaid volunteer scanlators!! What do they think they're not-paid for??!!

Given the nature of this comic having two versions, I'm thinking it might be a good idea to split the thread in two; ONE and Murata. Now more than ever given anon is pumping out the original.
-
We could keep the ONE discussion to spoiler tags, though.I personally don't believe that there is enough discussion to warrant a second thread. I mean why would you split this, but still keep bleach/naruto merged. It's not as if there is an active thread of the real naruto either, and all discussion about the real naruto just ended up in the bleach/naruto clusterfuck.
-
I was mainly considering it because people actually care about One Punch, for now, and there have been complaints of spoiler leaks. It's a relatively unique situation, and also Naruto and Bleach are crap.
-
I kind of see as the case with the JJBA thread. I mean people that have been in the thread discussing it are now using spoiler tags so that they don't spoil the anime only viewers. I don't really see it as a problem as just spoiler tagging the ONE discussion. Then again, it might be just me, but I would definitely like some feedback from other people.
-
I think that clear labeling and spoiler tagging will be sufficient.
-
Yup, the ONE will really just get ignored overtime.
-
Its not like it matters that much.
The Murata version is the one that's most talked about and even it changes what happens in the webcomic due to artstyle or just adding filler. The webcomic has been out for awhile as Raws and with any other series that's behind with trans you just spoiler all talk that isn't about the latest translated chapter. -
! Saitama will win his next fight with one punch.
^ Do not read it. It's the biggest twist of the series.
