why is a metal island the favourite island of kaidou? Is he not an animal or monster?

Coribou and the crew should have died in real life that deep under water but this is one piece so we have to be realistic, which isn't realistic at all.
What's even more amazing/outrageous is that even deeper under Sanji left the safety of his bubble to blue walk freely in the ocean. That's incredible resistance but I sware Robin just finished waring someone not to go out for fear of the massive ocean pressure. Am I remembering that wrong or did she not want the bubble popped?

Sanji, Coribou, and the rest went out into the sea during the fight with the kraken, which was only like 1000 meters down or something. Right after that fight, they got sucked into a giant underwater waterfall which took them 8000 meters down (big difference). Robin stopped Zoro from leaving the bubble when they were down even farther than that. No human character was ever put in the deep sea (8-10k meters of pressure) without a bubble that we've seen.

well it seems my post in the brokers thread is gonna be buried for quite some time so i'll re-post it here:

a) ch. 525 cover, cp9 picking up the pieces of the ball DF marine, rob lucci exclaiming "we will return one day" note the den den mushi is already screaming, meaning it has already reacted to what lucci had just said, most likely that we're going rogue.
b) he's telling the ball shaped silhouette to inform the world. why would brokers care about this? they aren't, theyre just double agents (to themselves) posing as government defectors. he's making sure this is news so not only the underground notice this, and the WG gets wind.
c) dressed just like him, drinking, same hair, same features. as for the ball guy, ball he probably doesn't have a ball shaped chin because he can alter whatever body part he wants for strenght or defense or preference. besides it being him, or a cybrog, or an unknown character, they are strange muslces for a totally normal person.the clues and coincidences are just enough to put lucci as the prime suspect, i think, as far as clues go.
he doesn't have the word marine on his chin, but that's easily explained by his DF. if it is a tattoo its scrunched up cause his chin looks normal now?"

I think it'd be really cool if Oda made a major event happen in a cover story. Not just another cutesy side story that'll have a future shout out but a major event.
Specifically thinking about the Apoo/Kidd/Hawkins Alliance. It'd be amazing if they actually worked together to defer a Yonkou and it all occurred on a cover story. Or just have major players interact on the cover story and show the Straw Hats finding out about it later.
That could potentially happen with the Caribou storyline once he finally spreads the word about Shirahoshi, but it'd be cool if more meaningful events happened on cover stories.

I think he'll defeat Scotch. All he's done after entering the NW is get beat up. I doubt his bounty is 210 million just because he has a logia. Crocodile's former bounty is only 81 million, after all.
But then X Drake or someone will appear and he has to tell about Shirahoshi.

I prefer meaningful events being treated in full details in the chapter. Just a panel for something really important would left too much for imagination; and it would be a shame.

Dunno about the others. I have them but they're in the volumes; I haven't yet copied them into their own folders.

Enel's cover story is pretty damn relevant and world changing, at least in a world building sense. It's the most mysterious and revealing bit of info we've had till now, and it's still pretty much in the dark.
And, if theories are correct, this will be even more major once Enel reappears.

But even enel's story, at least for now despite leaving clues for a potential future, is just a side story, unless Enel's going to use that info to greatly impact the final arc or a future storyline is a huge way.

Well, of course its potential to affect the plot right now is unknown, although it's been speculated that it "could" be related to the Will of D.
So, I agree that right now it's not that huge (plot wise; world wise, this is golden), but if it turns out to be what people speculate it might be, then this will be one of the hugest things in the entire manga.

i've always hoped enel would come back for a post-completion, possibly cannon (or not, doesn't matter) movie. enel with a mastery of haki and mastery of his fruit, of which he has already shown to be "otherwordly" cunning and creative with, is nonsense level strong and cool. oda to waste the amazing potential of information he just barely dripped out on those cover stories about the possible world origin/ancient kingdom theories would be a shame.

"Wadatsumi's lonely Sea Life"
"Yeti Cool Brothers Cool Adventures"
"Vergo's Gourmet Vacation"
And honesly, I would prefer the Yeti Cool Brothers. Their recent appearance in the anime reminds me, that they actually were rather…cool and it would make them seem so...pointless.

There's also Monet, who can go off and be an astrologer or open a pet shop or something.

Seeing as how half of the OP community is wondering whether the fuck she is dead or alive, and the other half is SURE about whether she is dead or alive by stating how well they know Oda and his style by now, I think it would be a safe assume that, if she is alive, Oda would pick her for a cover story to clear up what is going on with her right now, unless he will touch upon her in the main story.
He could combine her story with the Yeti Cool Brothers. Would be pretty cool to see.
I think I should repeat this before I get hurt: I said he would probably pick her for the cover story (1. if she is alive and (2. if she won't get touched upon in the story.

That bounty would be with him mostly acting upstanding and pretending to be the noble Sir Crocodile, not attacking marines, and without his plans or massive secret organization revealed… and would be based solely on his early activities and logia power.
Caribou goes around attacking and burying marines regularly, and had a very violent crew, so it gets inflated, same as Kidd's bounty being high not from one or two outlandish events, but from lots of little crimes.
In any event, we have no idea what his Croc's post-warlord, post-betrayed the government, post-try to take over a country bounty is. It's probably well in the 400 range now, same as Luffy and Jinbe.

Okay to the point. I've seen some posts around here about Kuzan saving Monet and recruiting her together with the Cool Brothers.
Chances of this happening aside, I like the idea.But you're right on the fruit. It may come back in the cover story.

I can't see Monet just going "Well that was fun, guess its time for an adventure!". She was incredibly loyal to DD, to the point where she was willing to blow herself up to help him. Assuming she recovers soon she'd probably immediately try to fly to Dressrosa to help DD, or maybe search for Vergo and bring him along as well.
Honestly, I'd bet on us getting a cover-story for that huge fish guy, as he was pretty much thrown out of Fishman island with little to no resolution of his character.

Well, technically aren't all the cover stories since Hachi's back-tracking? Gedatsu went to Alabasta after we had left it. And for that matter, wasn't the entire Decks of the World cover story back-tracking? Its not like he HAS to stay in and around Fishman Island, particularly seeing as he got exiled from it.
