I'll say it again: Elisabello will use his punch on Bellamy, who then proceeds to absorb it using either a dial or his springs.
One Piece 707: B Block
-
-
I'm actually wondering why a Fish-man like Hack would want to get the Mera Mera no Mi… kinda a big loss, to not be able to swim for him no?
-
I'm still banking on that punch missing, and hitting Luffy instead.
At which point he'll blow up like a balloon and everyone will be like OMG LUFFY THE GIANT IS HERE RUN!
-
Anyone get the feeling that maybe there won't be a winner for B block and that the tournament may get interrupted somehow? There are simply too many interesting and unique characters, it's hard to decide a winner.
I'd rather see the tournament get to some real 1v1 fights
-
I'll say it again: Elisabello will use his punch on Bellamy, who then proceeds to absorb it using either a dial or his springs.
That punch is rumored to be able of knocking out a Yonkou- Dagama might be exaggerating here- and it created a hole in another country's fortress. Do you really think a dial or Bellamy's arm are able to withstand such brute power?

Hmm, good point.
That will probably result in some good background later. -
It's disappointing that the spoiler thread has more pages of discussion than the actual chapter discussion.
You guys are a bunch of spineless chicken, if you already can wait a week for a chapter, why can't you wait a couple of hours more.
There is always a nice build-up towards the cliffhanger at the end. If you read the chapter summarized in a couple of sentences you will miss out at the surprise and tension.

Maybe. As far as we know Impact dials don't have a "limit".
-
If Bellamy finally has learnt how to use his power properly he can absolutely do it. We had this discussion a few years back when we thought he was dead, I'd love to see oda finally settle it.

Still hoping to see if He can use Geppou.
-
So he can use Spring Hopper anywhere? That'd be cool. Hope there's enough panel time left before Ricky knocks him out.
-
Bellamy looks like a demented soul… Apparently something that hasn't changed about him. Hard to say who is going to come out of this royale but I'd bet on the nameless gladiator guy a.k.a. Ricky. Also I feel like bellamy is not going to be able to use his power to its fullest due to the fact that he doesnt really have anything to bounce off of legwise

The fact of the matter is, I though Dagama was a joke character, and still hold to this. The whole "one punch an hour thing" is total comic relief. And Luffy could destroy a fortess wall with an elephant gun easily, but knocking out a yonkou? Not even two comprable things in the One Piece universe.

You mean Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen Mae Hashutsujo
you should check it out bruv, Worth it. Very funny tooIs it really funny? I've been trying to find new mangas or webtoons to read but I don't where to begging
Luffy used to request a big statue on Their ship, now we have a statue no mi user as a new crewmate candidate. Kyros ;p. Please, im joking
Take this to "theories that don't deserve their own thread v.2"
Fucking Spartan saw through Luffy's disguise. He must be a CoO Master.
Cavendish just isn't bright or is too concerned with himself to bother paying attention to others.
Someone recognizing a fake moustache or beard don't cancel out the scenario of the moustache/beard keeping its bearers identity hidden till a point of for example removing the fake item or through other means of investigation.
It's clearly that Luffy's disguised ain't doing much but that doesn't mean that he will be recognized that easily, Don chinjao recognized him because of the grudge he have against Garp and his family, he must have been keeping track in Luffy since long ago and he new how luffy looked like, so that's why he knew who he was
its absolutly hilarious that ricky actually turned out to be someone important last week people were joking around saying ricky is sabo i wonder of any member jokingly said ricky is kyros:ninja: who else thinks that that bellamy will absorb the kings punch with an impact dial and then wreck the king withthe force of his own punch leaving a three way showdown between ricky bartolomeu and bellamy its nice to see some of the block c participants getting some build up though i dont think it will matter at all i doubt any of them are even close to luffys level imo the strongest people in the colosieum right now are 1.luffy 2.burgess 3.diamante in that order i think in block c luffy will wipe evry one out with kings haki and the only ones strong enoungh to survive it will be chinjao and his family luffy will fight them 3 on 1 for a short while before winning and than chinjao will have a short little flashback and come to terms and accepting the fact that he lost his veud with garp i doubt they will be important chadcters even though theyve gotten a little build up
I'll say it again: Elisabello will use his punch on Bellamy, who then proceeds to absorb it using either a dial or his springs.
already pointed out but I can see this happening, If not you'll see people flying like when Vegeta arrive at the tourny back in Majinbu saga
its his old jolly roger, the cross bones with lips and a tongue sticking out that is now x-ed out by a cross http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121219212518/onepiece/images/3/32/Bellamy_Flag_Square.png …. and now for something totally different….. in that same pic look between Lepanto and Bellamy , in the background.... its Batman!
Nice find
-
I really like the idea of a punch that takes an hour to ready. That's gotta be awesome. I'm curious what his normal output in strength is though.
I'm liking Bellamy more and more. Damnit Oda, he was such an asshat, how dare he get me to like him!
The reveal at the end plus with Cavendishe's suprised pretty sparkles were excellent.
-
I'm actually wondering why a Fish-man like Hack would want to get the Mera Mera no Mi… kinda a big loss, to not be able to swim for him no?
Hack is awesome, he's not there for the fruit, he's there to communicate with his rivals through their fists, enabling a better understanding between the two races, I think he would enter any kind of tournament for that sake.
-
One wonders what the hell Garp did? I mean it's not like Chinjao's got scars or something
-
… Bartolomeo is just lying there on the floor and chilling. LOL
I'm glad that the fight is not offscreen and we get more screentime with all these new characters Oda has introduced.
That Fishman dude is really interesting.
Also, Ricky. I too think he is Kyros, or at least has something to do with him. On the other hand... maybe thze hints are too obvious, and he's just a red herring?
Oh, that Chinjao guy was almost kille dby Garp? I hope we get to see a Garp flashbac someday.
Aaaand of course Luffy's cover is blown... as expected xD -
who is on the bounty poster that Cavendish holds ?
-
I'm kinda surprised Luffy's identity was revealed in this way. I don't mind it as long as it leads to awesome Chin Jao and Garp stuff though.
Somebody had this theory like 2 chapter threads ago that Kinemon might be knocked unconscious by his attackers, rendering any disguise useless, thus Luffy's true identity being revealed. This sounded nice since it would actually not be his fault for once (and it is not his fault now either).
Though, who even knows about it right now? Bellamy, Chin Jao and Cavendish know. The audience doesn't yet. So curious to see how that'll go.Maybe Luffy will go YOLOmode because some people already know who he is anyways.
-
is it wrong for me to wish that hack joins the crew instead of jinbe? LOL. its just few panels but he already declared a dream.
I was under the impression he deferred to Jinbe's dream. :wassat:
LOL @ preferring Hack over Jinbe though.
Can Bartolomeo join the crew already? Anything else is a waste for this awesome fucking character.
-
who is on the bounty poster that Cavendish holds ?
Probably another supernova who'll appear during this arc.
-
One wonders what the hell Garp did? I mean it's not like Chinjao's got scars or something
Look under the beard.
-
who is on the bounty poster that Cavendish holds ?
I've been trying to figure it out, I'm guessing it's Luffy's - you can see an MON vaguely at the bottom
!
-
Is Ricky possibly T-Bone? Most likely.
-
The Jinbe mention by Hack just made me depressed.
sigh
Barto made up for it though.
-
I've been trying to figure it out, I'm guessing it's Luffy's - you can see an MON vaguely at the bottom
Just me, or there are three things that resemble mouths there?
-
I've been trying to figure it out, I'm guessing it's Luffy's - you can see an MON vaguely at the bottom
I think that that is Usopp in the bottom left corner of the poster so it's Luffy's poster
-
I've been trying to figure it out, I'm guessing it's Luffy's - you can see an MON vaguely at the bottom
It looks like Luffy to me too.The smile and all.
-
I've been trying to figure it out, I'm guessing it's Luffy's - you can see an MON vaguely at the bottom
From this close up, it's clearly Luffy's. Y'know, just from the picture?
-
Maybe Luffy will go YOLOmode because some people already know who he is anyways.
I kinda want to smack you…
At any rate I'll be surprised if Luffy isn't still wearing his old man beard till afer he gets out to the arena. Just for other fighters who mocked him to have their face faults.
-
This was a meh chapter. The end was interesting, but it was mostly more build up and "filler" until we get Luffy into the ring.

Yeah - exposition on other fighters in a tournament is totally filler, and we must focus on the main character always.
-
@CCC:
As I said with the Fujitora case, the only way Ricky =/= Kyros is if he's intentionally being set up as a red herring. Oda wants us to think it's Kyros. He knows his readers can put two and two together, which is why he dropped so many clues so far.
So the options are:
A) Trixy red herring plot to fool us
B) Occam's razor: he's KyrosIt's obviously
C)
-
@400MillionBelis:

I just found that since 90% of those characters are throwaway, I didn't find it that interesting to watch. The only really interesting and funny thing, in my opinion happened at the end. The rest of it was just padding.
I'm not saying it was bad, but it was just meh.
-
I think Ricky is the son of Kyros. maybe even the sister of rebecca
-
It's obviously
C)
Guts immediately came to mind as well in those last panels. Same profile and similar battle dress (early years w/ helmet and cape), and silently butchering hordes soldiers with a two-handed sword while barely breaking a sweat.
-
Ricky got hyped so much that he turned into Kyros…damn you guys!
All who wanted to see more fishman-karate should also be pleased with this chapter..isn`t it glorious.
-
To everyone who's saying that this is just filler, screw you. This is exactly what one piece needs. Compared to last arc, which was still awesome, this arc is shaping up to the be the best ever, and that includes the character development part. Whats the point of a tournament if everything's going to be fighting offscreen? These characters are obviously important, every single last introduced character is going to play some part in this arc, which I can see lasting well over 70+ chapters. Seeing this excellent pacing, its safe to say B block probably wont be finished for another 2-3 chapters, and I WELCOME MORE. This tournament in general will last a few volumes in culmination with the fact that they also need to vs. the Doflamingo family. At that point I can see the tournament being cut short due to doflamingo's scheme to trap Luffy. As for the other storylines, its amazing how much this man can do at once. Everything is so cohesive, luffy's fighting in a tournament with many major characters, of which I see many of them playing a part throughout and towards the end of the arc, good or bad. Zoro, Kinemon, Sanji and Franky all have their own individual storylines which will last a while. Then there are the ship team and the Caesar team (Of which I am the most interested in). This is probably going to be the longest arc yet, due to the fact that by the end of it, one of the biggest players is going down for good (in the one piece kind of way)
I honestly cannot see the direction this arc is going. Sure there's this tournament, but this arc seems to have a lot more than a tournament up its sleeve as we can see.
-
So Elisabello is charging is MEGA PUNCH since he arrived to the Colloseum. OMG!
-
I was under the impression he deferred to Jinbe's dream. :wassat:

hahahaha. i just thought hack is cool…i know its shallow, so dont mind it too much. LOL

I want to make a joke but I've made myself sad trying to think it up.
-
The way Oda not only gave these fighters some ability explanation, but even some background and ties to existing characters, makes me actually expect a lot from blocks C and D.
Kelly bro's, the Mummy, Orlumbus, the Chinjao clan. . . .and, of course, my man Suleiman!
1 or 2 pages, like in this match, are more than enough for me.
Seriously, I'd never thought Oda would give us so much outta the preliminaries.
This is shaping to be one hell of a tournament arc. . . that's actualy not even the most important thing going on at Dressrosa right now!
-
I think everyone is overlooking the blatantly obvious and simple fact that Ricky is Sabo.
-
One wonders what the hell Garp did? I mean it's not like Chinjao's got scars or something
Am I mistaking or didn't we see the lower half of his body yet?
-
The two incogto gladiators are "Lucy" and "Ricky". Is Oda referencing "I Love Lucy"?
-
I don't know if anyone mentioned this here, but some people on Reddit have a good prediction: Bellamy has a Reject Dial from Skypea, his springs could absorve the dial's recoil and he is going to take the King's Punch.
-
Can't believe there are people who are disappointed with Oda actually showing the fights within the block and developing these new characters I mean does anyone really want this to be like the War arc with lots of new secondary characters being introduced with interesting designs and little screentime with no guarantee of them ever being relevant again?
As for the chapter I personally think Elizabello's punch will be used to further hype someone like Bartolomeo, I'm not saying the punch isn't powerful but it's obviously being overblown by Dagama. I could see Barto blocking it and maybe as to not downplay the King too much the blocked punch still manages to blow away the small fries from sheer force of impact.
My next thought is that yes Ricky is obviously Kyros, however him likely being Kyros makes me wonder the direction Oda is going to take this block, Barto has too much hype and build up to lose this first round I think but if Ricky truly is Kyros then he too seems like he has to progress not to mention Bellamy had to have been reintroduced for a reason whether to be used to give Luffy another reason to defeat Dofla or too actually give Luffy a better fight in the future as a changed man.
Either way things are getting more unpredictable and interesting by the chapter.
-
I never said I was disappointed. I am just saying that this chapter itself was just average to me. That's not a condemnation of Oda's work or his choice of story telling. I judge the chapters on an individual base. This one just didn't do it for me, aside from the interesting ending. If you liked this chapter, then that's awesome.

you're not allowed to think things are mediocre
fuck you -

I think so, given that those are the only two that are aliases.
