Post how your day was…

Boys are gross. Throw rocks at 'em
-
@Panda:
I'm assuming this isn't actually the case, but the way you phrased that makes it sound like all of the guys at the party, including those that had absolutely nothing to do with that nonsense going on, were kicked out as a direct result of said nonsense, which seems to me like it would be a bit…
@cooldud_21:
^sexist? How can you call TheCrystalShip, crusader for all things treated unequal, that?
Nice try.
But there was only one other guy there, and he took a cab home because the girl's parents didn't want him to crash there.
-

Nice try what? I thought I made it pretty clear with how I opened my post that I was giving you the benefit of the doubt; my assumptions, not that I actually stated what they were in my previous post, were that either there only were the two guys, and your choice of words simply implied that there were more, or that the guys all being kicked out afterwards was not directly linked to the shenanigans that had occurred.
I wasn't trying to accuse you of anything, more just trying to point out that, the way your post was phrased, it left itself rather open to less flattering interpretation.

I was referring to Cooldud.
I was gonna type this long thing about what I meant exactly, but it was just rambling.
-
But there was only one other guy there, and he took a cab home because the girl's parents didn't want him to crash there.
So… were the girl's parents sexist then?
I expect you're attacking them with walls of text as we speak? -
@cooldud_21:
So… were the girl's parents sexist then?
I expect you're attacking them with walls of text as we speak? Is this like a trick?
Because if I say they're not sexist, I'm a hypocrite.
But if I say they're sexist, I'm overreacting. Right?Anyway, I'm not sure if I can call them sexist as people, but…
I'm not a fan of the whole "boys have penises, and girls have vaginas, so they can't socialize after dark". It's rooted in classic gender polarization, which is still used to justify and reinforce sexism. Boys and girls aren't different species, and to suggest that boys can't keep it in their pants is actually pretty demeaning to men, and only serves to legitimate rape culture. Also, not all of the boys and girls there had the "appropriate" parts, and nobody there was actually straight, so like... Yeah, definitely a bit of biological essentialism and heteronormativity inherent to their viewpoint.I understand that they're from a different time and place, but I wouldn't have kicked out the last guy if it had been my choice.
-
Among all the big words, this is the part that I liked.
@TheCrystalShip:I understand that they're from a different time and place, but I wouldn't have kicked out the last guy if it had been my choice.
So I'll lay off. And no, it was not a trick.

Why do people hate Reddit? Is it the 4chan twin of Tumblr?
4chan would probably rage at what you just said, lol.
For whatever reason, they loathe Reddit and 9gag. -
Oh by the way, there was some guy at the party, who thought One Piece went downhill and was almost as bad as bleach.
He walked away when he saw me twitching.

I don't think you should be using your Haki on fools, Khaini. Follow in the steps of Shanks.
debe mostrar moderación~

Meh, why even twitch at that?
-
I haven't been able to find may car keys all day.
Luckily I have a spare (so I can still get to work), but GOD I'm pissed.
-
Meh, why even twitch at that?
BECAUSE ITs SO IGNORANT. Seriously he READ the latest manga chapter and told me it was terrible and im like "COULD YOU EVEN COMPREHEND WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING"

Nerd rage. It's like facing Akuma's Raging Demon.

Wow…you get "twitchy" when some folk has a different opinion from yous over a children's comic book? Its not like the guy was making fun of your mother. You really do have nothing to worry about aside from petty things like that.
-
-
I think that guy was cloned, there's perpetually like 80 of that exact looking dude in the vicinity of every given discussion involving nerd things.

Yeah you know, a girl almost getting killed, 3 fights breaking out in my house, and the thing you zone on is me exaggerating my sheer disbelief that someone actually noted one piece was almost as terrible as bleach?
How about we just skip to the part where you said you typed that drunk so you don't look as stupid.

I agree with Khaini.
If someone said that One Piece was as terrible as Bleach it would cause me to be a little flustered. Nothing wrong with being flustered for a couple to a few seconds.
me irrita~

I heard you say somewhere that you wish this forum could have more intelligent discussions or something along those lines. I may not know the exact words, so I hope I don't get flayed for that, but I'm pretty sure you did. If not, no biggie. But if you did… Why are you being so disproportionately antagonizing to people? Aren't you just going to repeat your ban? There's really no need to call people stupid over petty things.
And calling it a children's comic book is pretty inaccurate (not directed at Khaini). I mean... I guess that was supposed to be the intended audience, but the actual audience is mostly people 18 and up with the minority being anyone younger (in Japan). There's a chart from a news report in Japan that proves this. Cite it? Let me read some more Nausicaa and I will in an hour or two.
-
This is the chart you're looking for:
But I'd still call it a children's pirate comic. That's what it is and what it's marketed as by its parent company in a magazine whose title literally means Young Boy Jump. Doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed by non-children, of course.
-
A children's comic book is still…a children's comic book if the author intended to write it with a specific age group in mind (children) in a specifically designated magazine directed for a young audience. If a large proportion of adults enjoy it, then that in itself demonstrates the overall compelling attributes of its narrative and its ability to appeal to a broad audience. Heck, if there is a greater proportion of adults read it than children, that only shows how accessible it is (in terms of themes, character, setting, relevance...). Regardless, it is still a children's comic book that is written for children in mind based on the author's intention (heck that's why its in shonen jump right?).
Much like how MLP is presented for a younger female audience, but its overall accessibility and charm allows a broad range group to enjoy it. Regardless, it is still marketed towards younger girls. Much like OP is a comic marketed towards children.
@CCC:
interesting to note that 75% makes up about 19-50 age group.
Since OP started at 1998 and been running for about 14-ish years. I believe it is fair to assume that a fair chunk of the 43% fellows and the 32% guys probably read OP and continued to follow it since its early run? (Which would make sense why the there are a considerable number of adult readers).
After all, OP has been hitting high numbers relatively early on so its readership probably got older and continued to follow it. (Much like those kids that grew up with Harry Potter and read the franchise through 7 books...but much longer with OP). -
Except, I'm not.
And here's something else I need to share:

Oh, let me share something. Yes I'm under the assumption you find me petty and want to point it out at any given circumstance, but I feel as though your judgmental eyes have had contacts in them for too long and need some brushing up.
The kid that's currently in the hospital for a mental disorder is someone I despised. I made multiple posts about him in other threads venting my frustration as him and his crew camped out at my house nearly all summer of last year. He didn't want to get a job and he was focused on simply becoming a musician, in fact played at the local are right down the street of my work, to make the money in order to survive. My sister was crushing mad on him even though he was a straight up loser. His family abandoned him essentially because he had an authentic god complex. Listening to his philosophical bubbles as he tries to claim "I understand the world better, I'm a genius that doesn't apply himself", and tonight was proof of it. My girlfriend was over here on a 3 month visa job hunting, and everyday they partied, without any consideration towards her, every goddamn night those 3 goddamn months. There was so much drama, and my girlfriend tolerated it, to the point where my sister didn't realize that she was immensely sleep deprived and sh`it. They are good terms even though she's reflected countless times during that time period, how selfish she was to appease her goddamn crush. I wanted nothing more than that kid to be murdered for the awkward situation he put my girlfriend through.
How fucking ever when his goddamn life was on the line, I was there to fucking save his chicken ass. Those kids were out for goddamn blood, and I didn't throw him into the wolf pack like I'm sure you assume I would considering those horror stories. I don't spread vicious rumors, I don't judge whether someone deserves life or not. I give the honest goddamn truth and spread it if necessary when other people will fall into the abuse of trust that I did. I'm fucking spiteful like that, and I will make you regret the fucking day you abused that trust. Yet, someone, who literally took that leap of trust to come out and see me for 3 months, to meet my entire family, and has a bad time because some of ungrateful punk kid who can't get his fucking life straight, isn't in my opinion, necessary to be executed, then sir I'm not sure who would be eligible in my book. At the end of the day I had a crying father thanking me profusely for getting him out of an essential goddamn moshpit with his name written all over it, to the best of my ability, and how, before this stupid manipulative bitch came along was actually heading in the right direction because of my family who tolerated his clearly inconsiderate behavior.
Good fucking night.

My ears were burning, did someone say MLP?~
anyway, I kinda almost had a nervous breakdown today at work. First, I set my alarm clock this morning for my usual 6:00 AM wake up to get ready for church only to find out I had the actual time set and hour fast, so I actually woke up at 5:00 AM instead. The wife was not happy about this…needless to say I fixed the clock and went back to sleep...only to wake up and be an hour late for my Sunday school class (I teach the younglings mind you). Needless to say, I never did make it to church...
Fast forward to work at 6:15 PM and things actually were going well at first. Then my nose started to bleed in the middle of an order. I excused myself to the bathroom to attend to it and ended up messing up my work shirt so bad that I had to get a new one and throw the old one out. Then, as if it wasn't bad enough, I encountered one of my more annoying customers that is overly nice to me but is extremely passive aggressive with me when I don't bag her groceries all according to her will.
Then, just when I had thought I had gotten through the worst of it, I ended up almost getting hit by a car while helping said customer out to her car.
Oh and my computer continues to not work.
But other than that, I had a decent day~

Oh um…I was just referring to the sleeper hit: My Little Pomeranians.
Yup, nothing about ponies here.

Oh um…
it's a great show! Filled with whimsy and wonder <3. I mean, how could you go wrong with a title like:
"My Little Pomeranian: Friendship is Fluffy."You have fantastic characters like
-Sunny Fluffball, the modest, good natured pomeranian protagonist
-Puffy Smiles, the shy one with a heart of gold.
-Fabulous, the gender ambiguous one.
-Fattyfur, the biggest puffiest pomeranian of them all. They live in the fictional, magical kingdom of...um...Pomerania (located between the magical kingdoms of Germany and Poland) where everyone is a talking pomeranian. Even though the show is directed at little girls, everyone is able to enjoy the universal conflicts like:
-"Why am I growing hair there?"
-"Does it matter whose fur you found in my fluff last night?"
-"Who has the most fluff on their heads?" (for some reason, a whole lot of middle aged balding men tuned in for this episode).
-"My chest fluff is bigger than your chest fluff!"
-And much much more fluff related anecdotes.Fluffiness is magical indeed. :ninja:

Well if you're in the US you can go rob a bank for $1 and be sentenced for 3 years in prison where you'll even get healthcare! Not sure if you saw that story but it certainly was an eye opener

Anyway, I hope things get better for you, Dryish. :/
Today I went to my sister's school to give her a change of clothes (the APs wanted her to change her pants and shoes), and yesterday I saw Wreck It Ralph. Amazing movie. However! My lips are seriously chapped from standing in the wind all day for yesterday's job, and I'm sore as heck.

Yeah…curse you 9gag for your lack of child porn and beastiality. Lol

The most I know of 9-gag is those endless slew of unfunny meme links I get on my Facebook newsfeed. Thankfully it's not an issue now as FB now stacks multiple links from a single site into one post. Easy to scroll over.

This past saturday I went to my Aunt's house to attend my baby cousin's outdoor naming ceremony, which I think is a West African or Ghanian tradition. My Uncle by marriage is from Ghana, so most of his family was there also. It was an all day celebration. Lots of food and dancing, and it went well into the night.

I had to get a haircut today because I am an idiot. This is the shortest it's been in years.
