One thought for a small, tasteful get-well item.
Step A: Produce a graphic of everyone's usernames and locations, printed as a block of small text, one after another. Possibly by means of a script parsing the user database (WZ?)
Step B: Colour some of the letters differently, in a pattern to draw out a message or a symbol. Possibly just JP for "Get well soon", since he's probably gonna get 9 bazillion Chopper pics anyway. :/
With the right font size, it would fit on one page, perhaps with a line of larger text saying "We are over 2000 fans, from all over the world; we don't agree on much, but we can agree on this."

And to those that are worried about the manga/anime crashing, you guys are psychotic. Even if he's put "out of commision" for a week or so, he's got enough to make up for it for quite awhile, and I seriously doubt the anime will go down because of one week of absence. I mean, is the anime even at Enies Lobby yet?

Ya I think it is, the last translated episode I watched was Luffy on the Sea Train headed to Enies Lobby from Water 7. Actual Japanese episodes are prolly a little farther along. Regardless….they can just take a week off showing the anime also...

Everyone needs to calm down. It's only a manga. It's not like it's the end of the world - well, maybe it is if you have no life. Anyways I think this hiatus means the end for the One Piece anime on TV. The anime will probably be going OVA from now like that Hunter X Hunter anime. And I think this probably spells doom for the manga as well. Usually when a mangaka takes leave for whatever reason, this usually means major suckage for the manga's story afterwards (e.g. HxH). In any case, there's still Bleach and other decent mangas to read.
Kid, I'll warreant I and most people here can claim more "life" then you.
How do I know?Because people who go on the internet and talk about folks not having lives, are usually compensating for something.

Add Yu-Gi-Oh! GX to the list. The anime's been around for 2 years and the manga started I think 3-4 months ago.

Remember how MANY sub-characters and villains were introduced in the manga? Do you know HOW LONG they can carry out sub-missions and countless sub-plots not to mention all sorts of setbacks on the island? You thought the infilitration took long in the manga? Wait till you see what they have planned for the animation.
Yeah, they're gonna end one of the most popular animated programs and merchandise vehicles in Japan because the author was sick for a bit. Riiiiiiight.

There was supposed to be a chapter this week, but because it's so dilatory, people are a little…edgy. Honestly, Oda's earned his rest; we could be loyal fans by respecting that and waiting however long it takes for him to recover. Afterall, we're all reading the online scans of OP illegally, so people should stop bastiching, already. Go do some homework. =/

Well, wasn't Oda a few chapters ahead, anyway? I mean - even if he is sick or wants to take a break for a week or two it shouldn't be a problem, there are chapters ready to be printed.
As for what all the fuss is about - I can't help but think its got to do with Togashi and what's been happening to HxH for the past couple of years. Guess ppl are just scared OP might follow a similar path if Oda gets sick…

hxh's mangaka has been sick for like 3 years now… and everything he's been releasing is poor quality because hxh is a manga he's wanted to do without any assistants...

I like hunter x hunter even though it's low quality artistically, it's strange.
The storyline for hxh used to be really good and the drawing was horrible, and now as the drawing is getting better the story seems to be taking a big fall (I mean seriously, Chimera ants?).
