Perona was a popular contender for NN because she matched well with Nami and Robin in the "Three Faces of Eve" trio dynamic. Nami and Robin both fit well with the seductress and wife archetype, respectively, leaving the child spot empty. Perona or Shirahoshi could have worked well, but they kinda blew their chances (not that they even had one in the first place).

We also have the "Hecate Sisters" trio dynamic. Nami and Robin both work as a seductive maiden and a eccentric mother, respectively, leaving the sarcastic crone out. Note that the crew doesn't have a "Grandmother" figure yet.

So, if we do get a third female in the crew, odds are that she will be either an innocent and/or immature young girl or a sarcastic granny.

The 2 dynamic relationship within the female characters you proposed was insightful. Definitely a strong possible characteristic for the third female nakama, if it will be a she. And between the two (immature young girl or sarcastic granny) I would think that the latter would be the better option as we really don't have that personality in SH. And granny is really the lacking figure within the dynamic group. We have the nuclear family covered. Grandpa within Brook and relative w/i Jinbei. Jinbei I suppose could play the sarcastic card as we really don't have much of a clue as to his personal character sans his chauvinism and honor.

Although, I'd be pretty disappointed if the char design were to look like Kureha or Tsuru. I'm loving me some cool and energetic looking member. Brook works as an SH member and grandpa figure because he is a freaking skeleton with lame bone jokes. If it were to follow the hecate sister trend and the option were the chars introduced before New World, Bonney would be a good fit. Due to her being able to change her appearance, it really obscures her actual age. Some proposed that she is really young, and other say otherwise. I think judging from her action with the drama covering Zoro's recklessness with the Tenryuubitto, she IMO is an older lady. Her personality could be developed into the sarcastic type, as of now we don't know what her personality is. Heck, she could even be the young type and the dynamic within the female chars would then be the three face of eve too.

It'll also be interesting as Luffy will have eating competition with her. Sanji will have to constantly cook for her while constantly trying to impress with his food. Zoro x Bonney I could already see. Brook and Bonney (if she really was way older) sharing wise thoughts, telling experiences, having respect for each other while, time to time, nagging to see her panties. Ussop,time to time, would be outlied. and Chopper would sometimes have a buddy of the same age, or a Nanny that will tell tales of wisdom. Everyone would be absolutely charmed or annoyed by her sarcasm. As far as SH role goes, she might be the spy/scout type because of her ability to change her appearance. This ability was what I wanted out of Bon Clay (we now know he's not joining us).

On the flipside, I don't know the upside for her ability. Obviously against boss-like crew she can't just down/up-age her opponents cause it'll be too deus-ex-machina. Plus, as of current, there really isn't anything that will make her leave her crew. Also, we have yet to know if she has a dream to fulfill or not. And it also seemed she has too much alpha dog quality to be with Nami or Luffy. And she isn't a Logia, I'd really love to have a Logia in the crew. Like someone said, I think there isn't a clear advantage anymore possessing a Logia ability in the New World. Maybe this Logia ability would be picked out by someone in the crew already in the near future, so my point of Bonney not a Logia type would be moot. (I actually cringe at the thought of a non-df crew member getting a df power).

All in all, I'm not oppose for Bonney to be a part of SH as I can see her fitting quite well with the dynamic of the group.

i felt like if the series started touching on whitebeard's crew so soon after the time skip, the series is moving backward (sloooooooooowing down). if you want a faster pace, it'd be more logical if you requested they move to florian triangle ASAP.

No, I do agree with lil odz though, a lot of the thread I've been to has been looked down upon you. Its not that I am dissing you writing your opinion, but forums are to post responses. If you don't agree with the point, say you don't agree but don't look down upon and segregate it.

I disagree about Crocodile joining. Not because he was a shichibukai but mainly because he has the same goal as Luffy in becoming a Pirate King. If for some reason Crocodile would change his desire in becoming the Pirate King, it would be a total failure of his character IMO.

I do not complain if shichibukai joins the crew. I don't mind having another strong character in the crew to join the top-tier of Luffy, Zoro and Sanji. They'd need it for the New World. I am hoping for another female member and a fishman, therefore I am rooting for Hancock and Jinbei to join them. On the downside, there would be no significant power-ups for these characters since they are already crazy strong. However,I think the possibility of both of them joining is next to nothing.

That being said, I still want another female character and a fishman to join the crew. I can forgive Oda if a female character is not his option, but I would be very disappointed if the crew does not have a fishman.

d. Lughie, I agree with Gorlom, your explanation is weak and nonsensical. Nobody needs Reverse Mountain to be destroyed or the oceans to be united in order to fulfill their dreams. In fact, you could easily argue that it would be a very cheap, lame way of "fulfilling" their dreams. You are suggesting that their dreams are not acheivable unless they reshape the geography of the world, but that's just insulting to their ability. Using an Ancient Weapon to destroy a giant mountain?….

I think we should just acknowledge that its an interesting point that if the oceans united by Raftel, it would serve as the fulfillment of Sanji's dream, but as for destroying reverse mountain, there is no indictation that it's possible or that anyone wants to do it, including Oda.

I do agree that my theory is very rough. Its a freaking theory. But, its not entirely out of the question. It might not serve a purpose for fulfillling the entire crew and it could be for Sanji only, or Nami's or Franky's. But, its a possibility that makes sense. Honestly, I was pushing for One Piece [One whole sea thing] to fulfill everyone's dream and its probably not like that. I had to try to connect it because somebody needed some hint along the way to agree that this could be a legitimate theory.

Regarding successor of PK. As Ashura Kingfisher says its not something of royalty that is succeeded periodically. I bet GDR probably made up the pirate king emblem, wealth and fame story to start the pirate era. He knew the truth of the world and the corrupted history of the government but realize that his power is too small to fight against the whole government. Therefore he needed to stir up a mass/movement that will get the entire world going. In time, somebody would find the truth, spread the words, and become the leader of a huge pirate crew (could be the whole pirate crew in OP world combine together) and become the Pirate King. This would form the strongest pirate crew that would be able to fight against the World Government.

Pirate king does not involve conquering the world though. GDR was PK but still didn't rule the world. the new world perhaps but not the whole world.

Having the seas united to one has nothing to do with Namis or Frankys ambition. In fact redesigning the world means nami will have to start all over.

How does it not help franky's and nami's ambition? Its true that Nami has to start all over. But in the end it pays off. Rather then not being able to go into many other parts of Grand Line. How do you see Nami being able to complete her world map?

In the theory, by having all the sea united together, all parts of the sea would be sailable and Franky's dream would come true. Nami's and Franky's dream is interconnected.

As for chopper, you know what I mean. It doesn't directly help. But, if the island that the panacea is located is somewhere nobody has ever set foot on. And its a very remote and untouchable place. With the world and its current changed, realizing this ambition is no more a dream for chopper.

However, there is one fact that makes this theory weak. Little Garden.

I think, through the dreams, Oda is giving hints that suggests this theory. Maybe I'm pushing it a little but, think about this.

Luffy. One Piece = One whole seas = One whole world = Pirate King = Conquering the world. Luffy's dream comes true.

Nami. Mapping the map of the world. Oda didn't mention that Nami would map the map of the grandline, instead he said the world. So there is possibility that its a world post-current world. Moreover, the dream would be more realizable if the whole seas is connected together because Grandline is only travellable with log pose and there is standard direction to go from the reverse mountain to raftel. Therefore, having the world connected into one would be a sensible way to map the world. That's how Nami's dream would come true.
Sanji. All blue = fishes from all the seas could be found. It was a legend/myth. This theory says that the sea was once one whole sea together. But somehow red line, grand line and calm belt were formed fortifying the whole seas and dividing it into four seas. After that the whole 100 years were erased from the history. People who knew about the previous 'form' of the world are already dead. Generations have changed. The new generations do not know about the past because it was erased. Books relating about the past probably would've been erased to because of that. Some books or historical facts regarding the whole one piece of sea became myths just like that because the 'current' fact is that the sea is in 4 pieces. The myth is called all blue because its a place where the sea meets. Of course in joining up all the four seas, Sanji's dream would be realized.

Franky. Build a ship that would travel the whole world. Similar like Nami, if the whole world is not separated by red line and grand line and the current condition would be normal, travelling the whole world would be achievable. Franky's dream would come true.

Robin. Robin's dream is to know find out the history of the world: information about the poneglyphs, rio poneglyphs, ancient weapon, etc. In the few poneglyphs that they have found, it mentions about an ancient kingdom and ancient weapons. In the theory that I posted above, it mentions about the kingdom and weapons. The ancient weapons would destroy the reverse mountain joining up the whole seas. By restoring the world to its pre-grand line era, Robin would've found out about the history of the world. The uniting of the sea would ease SH's travel around the world possibly letting her find more poneglyphs. Therefore, Robin's dream would come true Brooke. Chopper. Ussop. Zoro. You know what I would say. Brooke will meet with Laboon if the reverse mountain is destroyed. Brooke's dream is realized. Chopper would find a panacea that would cure disease with ease if the sea is united into one. Chopper dream is realized. Ussop and Zoro just need to travel with Luffy and become a partner of the greatest pirate crew to be recognized as a brave warrior and swordsman. Therefore, Ussop's and zoro's dream is realized.
