Why would Shuu-kun make Ichigo cry? This image confuses me.
Because Ichigo betrayed his friends, remember?

When's Rock Lee Spring time of Youth coming out???
More importantly, how many chapters does it look like Bleach has left, so we can finally stop wasting our time reading it's top-tier nonsense?

I would say he has more than a years worth of plot left cause there are far too many unanswered questions. But then I remember Kubo is fairly lazy and just say the questions were answered and we just had to look for clues if we were true fans.
More importantly, how many chapters does it look like Naruto has left, so we can finally stop wasting our time reading it's bottom-tier nonsense?
fix'ed.
I'd rather narudo ends first. I can at least enjoy bleach somewhat. Naruto, not so much.
So, out of boredom I decided to read old Bleach chapters. Curious as to where exactly the manga went downhill.
I decided to start from the chapter when Kenpachi was first introduced, which means about the early SS arc. And damn those early SS arcs were great, it had everything it's severely lacking now. The character diversity was vast, in personalty & design; it had proper character development; and the storytelling was far from linear (lots of things was happening at once); and Ichigo's power ups weren't as asspull-ish.
I also saw things that might even influence other manga. Kenpachi might be the inspiration for Beelzebub (child rearing badass); I saw Sunny (Toriko) in Yumichika (or whoever his name was, he's the pretty boy in 11th division); among other things.
So where did I feel this manga took it's first step downhill? I'd have to say Aizen. When he was revealed to be the mastermind behind those events. The influence wasn't immediate of course, but when I saw that smug-ish smile of his, with his glasses on, I kinda saw Kubo himself. I really think Aizen (with all his personality) is what Kubo really think the ideal version of himself. And I think he just couldn't get enough of it, so he made more and more character Aizen-ish to the point of it becoming the standard trope for Bleach main villains today. Or perhaps it was the letters from girl fans saying they liked Aizen-type characters so Kubo just went n made more of 'em.
Anyway, I'm still at the part where the SS is disguising as highschool kids, so I might continue to see which part exactly the manga's downhill is apparently felt. Although I was actually surprised that Ichigo's badge was actually foreshadowed, it was hinted as an odd object right from the start.
And lastly, I do have a couple of questions left after reading through the SS arc. Why was Ukitake & Shunsui wanted to destroy that Sougyoku? It was never explained and it felt really odd how they just suddenly decide to destroy it and fighting Yamamoto. And for the life of me I can't remember what each division is tasked to, I only remember : 1 ( commanding division), 2 (secret ops), 4 (medic), Science (forgot what number), & 11 (battle)
…everytime I look at that bald dude from the Zero Squad, he reminds me of Naruto, for some reason... maybe it's the grin and the wide smiling eyes...

If it is so nonsensical, why are you still reading it?
Is someone putting a gun to your head?

I read once in an interview somewhere that Aizen was supposed to be genuinely killed and Gin was supposed to be the main villain. I have to wonder what made Kubo change his mind and where the plot would have gone if that had remained the case. We wouldn't have had any illusion abilities, just a super long, super fast sword that can turn to dust and poison people. Powerful, but beatable.

Ukitake felt responsible since Rukia was his subordinate, and he convinced Shunsui, who was like a brother to him, to help him out. They both felt the punishment was too harsh despite SS's ridiculously strict rules.
Also, District 12 was the Science District, and I think District 9 was the Arts and Culture Division.

Personally i think it went downhill as soon as Soul Society befriended Ichigo and his pals.
Seriously it felt like if the Enies Lobby arc at the end after the strawhats saved Robin all of sudden the WG, CP9 and everyone decided "you know what, they ain't bad guys, lets be friends" Joined the strawhat crew and followed them on their adventures. Then we would have a crew of 100 and everyone but Luffy would get basically zero spotlight.
In some bizarro-universe, One Piece did exactly that, and is the symbol of everything wrong with modern shonen, while Bleach went on to become a masterpiece of well-executed plot twists, a deep and engaging story that invites speculation, and an incredible cast of beloved characters.

Maybe you should tell it's local publisher that that isn't the case.
I'm sorry I still can't get over the whole "legendary" bullshit, that is one of the most quantifiably wrong things you can say.
Bleach is all about symbolism. Well, thats what they say.
Haha, nice one

I always suspected Bleach Asylum to be a universe of it's own.

Man,Bleach used to pump me up:
…and then Arrancars happened.I already felt that something was off at that point.
i personally think bleach went downhill after the grimmjow fight
I am inclined to agree with you black-leg, but I did like Starrk-Shunsui. Yes it was very quick but I loved Starrk and his bankai. Also Shunsui is incredibly hax, although I was a bit wtf with him using his shikai, I think it was his shikai anyway. I didn't like how we got those fights in a very disjointed way though. Grimmjow is certainly the last point I can say for certain I loved Bleach. I would accept the Grimmjow hacked by Nnoitra beaten by Nel who lost to Noitra who got beaten by Kendopachi thing. I enjoyed the twists and turns, it had a nice flow to it. For the record Kubo's definition of fan live in Bleach Asylum, they don't question his shitty decisions. The best Bleach fans reside in Arlong Park, because we mourn what Bleach has become. Laugh too but we genuinely think about how shitty Kubo is.

If this would be the case, Kubo'd still given Hitsugaya tons of screentime because fangirls except he'd be evil. It'd be Sasuke stealing the manga from Naruto all over again.
Gaysauce still has his final blaze of glory left. I would use the Dragonballs for a decent heel face turn if I could. If someone killed my family I am pretty sure I would want revenge too. I wouldn't be interested in anyone but those directly involved. So Sasuke theoretically should have only been after Danzou, the two elders, Madara and Itachi. Fuck this but it's the ninja world's fault bullshit. It was those directly involved who basically pulled the trigger, even if the ninja world manufactured the bullet and gun so to speak. I remember hoping at the time that Madara had somehow used the sharingan on Sasuke to make him go crazier and crazier. I guess that's been disproven.

Well, at that point, I never expected the villain to last as long as he did.

I know. Back then it didn't seem like Aizen was going to be dragged out for years. Knowing what we know about Kubo now though, in the bizzaro world where Hitsugaya was Aizen's killer, Bleach would have gone the Naruto/Sasuke route only worse because Histugaya was never Ichigo's friend nor a main character from the beginning.
Actually I wouldn't be surprised if Aizen shows up again soon and steals the show since Squad 0+King's Realm is in focus now and Aizen was mentioned just recently by Bach.
I'd really like to see an online comic, maybe even fanfiction, that did the Aizen takeover thing right. I'd say keep everything until Orihime is kidnapped. I remember being so thrilled with the possibilities of Aizen himself; he was always so alluring and mysterious. I thought he might have been an escaped Squad 0 member or something. Yeah… I'd like to see: Hougyoku handled properly and used multitudes of times, Grimmjow not being beaten by the bad kind of friendship, Stark's and Halibel's "fights" not needing the sarcastic quotes, Orihime's healing power being taken away somehow, Chad not getting destroyed by Nnoitra right after his fight but rather Nnoitra destroying some really strong Arrancar to make the same point, Ulquiorra and above confirmed as Vasto Lordes in the story, Yammy just kind of drifting off because who cares about him, and everything that was taking place in the extremely dull landscape of fake Karakura town to instead take place in some kind of ethereal spiritual place, like I imagined would be the place where Squad 0 resided. And spice up Hueco Mundo while you're at it to not be the epitome of laziness.
Oh, also I liked the hopeless feeling Hueco Mundo had when Nnoitra arrived. I'd like that to not be sullied by Captains taking care of everything. In fact, back then I wanted Ichigo to beat every single fucking one of them with the help of his friends.
That's what's made Bleach fairly boring. Most fights have no strategy. It's mostly just a spam attack, massively over sized attack or speed based elements.
^As well as the typical back stab.

My memories around that are pretty fuzzy, but didn't Nel stay in her goat form (which I actually liked! It was majestic) for like a few minutes then get beaten back into child form?
But yeah, them beating him in a long tag-team struggle would've been awesome. Hell, maybe even strategically retreating and getting Orihime to heal Chad who would want Nnoitra's blood for cutting him down for the umpteenth time. I really quite wanted Nnoitra to be ridiculously strong, he had such a cool weapon and form.
Was Orihime there during that? I can't even remember when she was kidnapped back to Aizen's lair near the portal leading to Fake Karakura. I know she was present for the Grimmjow fight.

It made no sense for Nel to be defeated by Nnoitra. In fact, it only happened because she reverted back to child form for absolutely no reason. Let's look at this… Nel had been the THIRD Espada, which means that she was probably a Vasto Lorde, and she had only been cut down the first time by a low-down surprise attack. AND, if she had defeated Nnoitra, it would have invalidated all of his ill-founded sexism and lechery, which would have been a breath of fresh air after we had to endure his presence for so long (yes, however many chapters was enough for me).
I would have also been okay with Chad finishing Nnoitra, and Nel fighting Harribel to take back her rank.
It made no sense for Nel to be defeated by Nnoitra.
Nothing about the Espadas makes sense and Nnoitra's ranking is a prime example of thst. You go from lower ranked Espada having abilities like Eat Things and Absorb Their Powers, Calvinball, and Control Things I Look At to Werepanther and Spider Arms.
Of course, neither are as bad as having Barragan's decaying powers come in below Yammy's Get Mad, Get Big.
IMHO both hyped villian teams (akatsuki and espada) were fucking failures in hindsight. and i actually like barragan and yammy
Good to see I'm not the only one that was annoyed when Nel turned back to "normal" in the middle of that fight. Yes, the goat form release….was a little weird....but who cares! She was beating the tar out of Nnoitra, a character that I honestly couldn't stand. For obvious reasons.
Remember guys, she swallowed his Cero and fired it back at him. That was awesome.

The way Kubo set up the SS arc, it really could've went any of those ways and it would've still been entertaining.
It's all in the execution really.
And yeah, I'd definitely have preferred that the captains remained in the background over ichigo's friends. They were very entertaining and lively, the captains just feel like try-hard characters that scream "cool".
I wouldn't have mind Renji, Ganju and Ikkaku joining the party. But the rest of the cast really couldn't compete with the friendship chemistry between Ichigo and his classmates.
It was especially getting more exciting when it was "foreshadowed" that they would be involved, but we all know what came of that.

Neliel is awesome. It was after she popped back to baby form out of nowhere that the series jumped the shark for me. The Nnoitra vs. Kenpachi fight was painfully boring.

It sucks more when you think about it. It made perfect sense for Nel to beat Nnoitra (because she outranked him AND he deserved it), but then…...Kubo had a "bright idea"!
The appearance of the Captains was played up to make things "cool", but her adult form......hell, her appearance itself....was glossed over. From there, you literally do not see her for god knows how long until the Quincies start attacking. Now she's currently in Ignoredland with Orihime and Chad.
I, for one, wasn't fond of Nel's regular form, because I liked her a lot as a Yachiru-like character who actually got some semblance of focus. My first thought when she transformed was "Oh, boy, yet another woman with huge tits! Fucking A+ Kubo!" It wasn't that she reverted to her regular form that bugged me, but that her regular form couldn't have been a woman of modest proportions (then again, this is Kubo we're talking about). That said, I also wanted her to beat the shit out of Nnoitra, but why have some good old fashioned comeuppance when you can have TWO HANDS-DO!, right?

Yeah, the objectification of women's bodies is never okay. But thematically, it made sense for her to kick Nnoitra's ass.
but.. technically Nel "win", she just didn't finish the fight?
Well, she did have the advantage, but I believe Nnoitra quickly knocked her aside when she turned back.
@pyro: Not really, considering Nnoitra hadn't even released before she reverted back to chibi form. In order to classify it as a win for her, she would've needed to utterly crush him in his released form (at least, that's how I see it)…

Not gonna lie. This might be true, but I'm not gonna rag on a character simply cause she has large tits.
Because that's being prejudiced

And you can't say there isn't something unnerving on a primal level when a character can suddenly mentaly regress to the age of a 4 suddenly.

I don't even see how that makes any sense. If her normal form was a woman with smaller boobs you would probably complain that Nel can only be useful when she has big boobs. Then complain more about sexism in Bleach and objectism of women etc
No, because if she had had normal proportions, then the fanservice wouldn't have been as blatant as it was. The only issue I had with Nel's regular form was that Kubo felt the need to toss a huge rack on her, as if he didn't already have half a dozen characters exactly like that. Also, if I recall correctly, Nel did her swallowing a cero trick when she was stuck in chibi mode, didn't she? That was pretty useful, not to mention her rather disgusting healing abilities. Basically, she transformed into a more battle-capable version of Matsumoto, whom I greatly dislike. Get it? If Nel's real form had been closer to Tatsuki or Lisa's proportions, then I would've had zero problems with it (until she reverted because Kubo felt the need to show off Kenpachi, that is)…
Point is hating on breast sizes is irrelevant, because they're not an indicator of relevancy.
